Yesterday was a long night/ early morning. There was a fish sitting at a couple 5-10nl tables so i decided to play until he busted. he ended up playing a while and rebuying which was nice. I was lucky enough to jump in on a headss up table he was at and an hour later i was 1k richer. It was a pretty good overall day yesterday. I won a buy in at plo (basically breakeven) and about 3 buy ins at 5-10nl. It was nice to get out of the red and get a nice turnaround winning at both games.

Today was a little different i suppose. I lost about $1800. $1400 at plo in some 5-10 game and 2-4 games. That was probably mostly due to the 5-10 losses where i got it in good and lost and the other was a pretty bad cooler. I dont think i played too well in the 2-4 plo games tho. i got it in pretty bad a couple times. It could be variance, but i think i may have been a little too spewy today in some spots. Nl was ok i played fairly well, but a little to passive and scared money in the 5-10 game. I need to start playing a bit more aggro pre flop and trusting my reads better post flop. hopefully the games stay soft and i can continue to get in some 5-10 games in both nl and plo.

I think i need to work on my PLO game a lot more. I dont seem to be making any good money. I just kind of make $1k...lose $1k and never really gat a winning streak going. I think buying camtasia and recording my sessions will be a great investment and tool to learn and adjust. I guess 3 more days and im moving out.. can't wait to get setup and in a money making mode.

yesterday wsnt that fun. It wasnt a good plo day for me. I think i played fairly well, but probably was making some mistakes. I played a bunch of hu plo and 6 max and couldnt really get anything going. All in all i lost about 3k or so and now im down $1,300 for the month. Im happy that i didnt tilt too much. I used to get frustrated when running really bad hu and make some terribly bad calls or huge bluffs when i know im getting no credit. I kind of had to just stay there and keep losing small. Hopefully i can get something rolling in the next few weeks/ months and really hit my stride in plo.

Today is sunday so im just going to "take a break" from plo and nl cash games, so i will just play a bunch of good prize pool tournaments and try to win something. So far i lost a bunch and i was getting it in really well each time, but tournaments are funny that way. It doesnt really matter how you get it in somehow its still a flip. As results oriented as that thinking is i think i can take something out of it. One thing i probably dont do enough is 3 bet shove well in the middle stages. I cant wait for AK or something i should be looking for more situations where i can just ship in Q8s or something and get a lot of folds. I dont know its hard to tell if im playing well in tournaments or not.

I am moving to a new apartment this saturday so im pretty excited. Also i should be receiving $30k in checks in the next 2 weeks or so. Im going to switch somethings up with my computer setup when i move. I'm only gonna bring 2 of my monitors, get a new desk, and a new chair. Hopefully this induces me to play more hours at my A game. Since i have a roommate who also runs, i think its going to help me get on a better schedule of running and poker. Another good thing is my roommate plays some sit n gos and understands poker at some level. One thing he does which annoys me to no end is when people ask how i did today. It tilts me more than losing a two thousand dollar pot. i guess its because people only think of how you played today by how much money you made. All that does is make people feel bad for you or feel bad for themselves because it takes them a month to make $3k and it took you a good day at the tables.It makes them feel like your lucky to "be able to do that" actually this is getting fairly ranty. I think im gonna leave it there and write something more detailed about this later it could help me hate my friends less.

Had my second winning day this month which was nice. I played pretty well i thought and only made a few small mistakes. I actually ran good at 5-10plo and my close hands were best and they held up in 2 nice pots. Im still down like $500 on the month or something, but i havent put in many hands so im not too worried. I had another coaching session yesterday, it was alright. I learned a lot more the first session. This was just due to not many cool situations coming up. I think i still have some work to do with my pre flop game which should increase my winrate. Post-flop i just need to get in situations where it is marginal and review them, lately i haven't been in too many fun spots. I'm getting a little better at figuring out equity vs a hand, but i think once i move up im going to need to learn how to figure out my equity vs. someone's range better.

I ran today for 8 miles or so and felt pretty darn good. It was cold but i wore a lot more warm stuff then i usually do so it wasnt a factor. Im going to keep running easy and as far as my body let me. That will pretty much be my marathon training. I dont want to get into a whole tough schedule, just go out and run relaxed and not worry about much. I think it is really helping my poker game. I come back focused and its is getting very hard to tilt, i just have been flowing with the beats and i think thats going to be extremely crucial if i want to be successful at high stakes plo.

So my goal for april was to play a bunch of 1-2 on full tilt and see if i could get on the top five on table ratings. The first day went well or so i thought. I played about 1k hands in 2 hours and made $1251. I thought i would be on the today rankings for sure, well for some reason i wasnt. I guess it missed the hands or something, but it didnt even have me on there. I was still happy with the win so the next day i played some PLO 400 and said screw 1-2 NL. that happened to be a bad idea and i lost like $2400 there playing mediocre i guess. 6 buy in losses suck in one day, but in PLO its not that big of a deal. Im just gonna keep working on my game and analyzing players and try to get better and better.

Running has been going alright. I ran about 40 miles last week. I started to feel sluggish and my arch in my foot started hurting so i decided to listen to my body and take a day off yesterday. It helped and the foot feels a lot better hopefully i can get the mileage in for the Los Angeles marathon at the end of may.

Every sunday its like the same thing it seems. I register for a bunch of tournaments and only cash for 1 or 2 and not for anything huge. Then i also play plo and make up for most of my losses. I really cant wait until i have a big cash in a tourney it will feel great. Im getting ready for scoop and i hope my check comes in soon so i can deposit it on stars so i can play all the tourneys that i want, it should come out to like 4k or so for the entire SCOOP. I have been running a lot the last three days and probably logged in about 22 miles or something and been doing some plyometric drills too. I plan to run about 8-9 miles a day with drill every other day and increase my ab/lower back stuff too. April should be a good month fitness wise. I have a 5k race that i will probably run april 21st. I am not in any kind of race shape but its very close to my house and will work well as a workout. If i can run 17:30 or something i will be happy. Also i might try to run the LA marathon since it is kinda soon and i love LA.

So ive decided to take a few days off from serious poker playing and just run eat well and relax. Yesterday i ran about 7 miles or so and felt really great the whole way, probably because i did good stretching and kept the pace very casual for me. Then i drank like 10 beers while watching the office and breaking bad. I got some sick new running shoes also, they are always overpriced. but i could really care less they are the newer versions of the ones i have gel nimbus and hopefully they feel good in action.

Im trying to think of some cool goal or something to do in April. I was looking at pokertableratings and i think i might try to be top 10 or something for 1-2nl for a week or a month not sure i guess it depends how well it goes. That could be a fun thing to just worry free grind while working on my PLO game. I guess i could switch between 4 tabling heads up and 8-12 tabling 6 max. I will have to really play a lot of hours, because there will be some plo games i will be playing if they look good and that will make it harder for me to put in the amount of hands at 1-2 no limit that i will need to accomplish a top 10 spot. Hopefully i will run good. I havent played much no limit holdem and havent played more than 5k hands of 1-2nl on full tilt in probably a year so i will see how it goes.

Dropped another $2700 today playing 1k plo and 400plo. It was pretty much just coolers. I lost a big pot at 1k plo when i three bet pre flop and i think kinda just got stuck post flop with how the board ran out. I felt really tired today and not focussed so i just got up and left my tables. I am happy i am able to not tilt/ play while tilting, so i think thats going to be huge factor in really improving and being able to see things for what they are.

After this semi downswing ( $7,500 playing 5-10 and 2-4 PLO) I am going to focus on getting on shape and not really playing unless i am really focus or ready, so i doubt i will be playing much
Also i noticed i am getting dependant on caffne, so i will take the forseeable future working on getting healthy. It should be prefect because by the time i get in decent shape and healthy, i should be able to throw some money on full tilt and play some good 5-10 games if i want to.

Pretty much how the last few days have been, but w/e i can take some time off now and come back very mentally ready and focused so in april i will be able to put in a lot of hands playing my A game.

Overall its kind of funny. I made 10k this month so far, but im dissappointed and nowadays its almost a disaster if i dont make at least 10k a month. I remember that was like a huge month for me. hopefully i can have a great april and follow my workout schedule and be very mentally ready for a big month of poker.

Today was good day, i lost $4,800.. haha yea i was actually happy with today. I had a big loss, but i realized that i can beat 5-10 PLO in a soft lineup and maybe even at a standard game. Its funny i took a shot at a higher level, lost, but am confident i am a winner in the game if i table select. Only problem is i have hardly any money on ftp so im going to need to take some from my overrolled sites through check and deposit on full tilt so that is going to take forever. I will probably just play games that i have 10 buy ins for and try to build like that.

this hand was fun i played it very fast because of the dynamics i had with this particular player and got lots of value on turn when i was 70% but river i think i should have check/called instead of betting. I like how i played it except for the river which is 10% or so of the money that was in the pot so w/e. I am very happy with how much value i got on the turn tho so i am happy getting in $1500 pot as 70% favorite.. River came bad but w/e.

I get it in pre flop with a hand that can get hard to play post flop but is the nuts pre flop. I think his 4 bet is bad multi way and vs my range. Im not folding much here except maybe AKQx and KKxx. And his hand is soo easy to play perfectly on the flop when he has a good idea of his equity. Flop came bad boo f*cking hoo. lol

here is fun hand to play.. easy 3 bet easy all in easy nuts holla. There was effectively $453 in the pot facing $267. it get it in 4 ways with 27.6% equity 4 ways. If everyone was 100bb deep i would need 21.2% equity to break even 4 ways.. i had 27.6% and even more in the side pot.

Here i make a cold call of three bet, because i saw a lot of value if i hit a flop vs this player. I end up getting lots of value with the best hand and it holds on the river. I dont cold call 3 bets that much and dont think thi is necessarily good vs good opponents, but it is easy to play post flop and i can get value from this guy.

Alright thats a few hands, im gonna try to keep reviewing sessions and think of optimal lines. Gonna go get sushi now.

So far i put in about 6k hands since friday, went running once, and havent signed up for a gym yet. The good news is i did make some money. I got 81st in the 750k guaranteeed on FTP and that was my best finish in a sunday major so far. Kind of sucks, but it is good confidence for the upcoming SCOOP that i am going to enjoy/ try to compete with good players in. I will try to play most of the medium ones, some small ones, and try to sattellite into a high one if i can. PLO has been going alright i feel like i am improving and figuring out players better, so i expect to continue doing well there.

Friday was a good start to my small challenge. I played a bunch of hands at peak playing hours, ran 4 miles and was just excited to play. Then saturday came and being up until 7am playing fish, I wasnt too glad to hear my friend come in my door at 1 o'clock and get me to start partying/drinking. So since i had no chance of getting back to sleep and not in good mindset for poker i obliged. We ended up drinking beers and watching march madness. Then we started playing some drinking games like ******* and drinking texas holdem with 10 bbs and really started to throw back lots of beers. Then we went out to bars with some friends who came over and started to pound some shots of jack. We all got pretty drunk and thats how i ended up not playing poker on saturday.

Alright i think im ready to start a new week of goals to accomplish. Everyone seems to plan everything by the month and i just cant be motiavted for that long yet. So i will just try to accomplish things by the week. The last week i did this went alright, but not great. Then after i took 4 days off from playing and just kind of had an extended st. patricks day celebration and was lazy and drunk most of the time. Now its time for a new "challenge" so i will try to take these down.

- Run 30 miles this week
- join a gym
- post five hand histories on a training site ( never posted a hand, only commented )
- drink 4 or less nergy drinks and no other caffeine
- start to pay off my school loans ( easy to forget )
- have a coaching sweat session ( wasnt in mood for poker the past few days so hopefully i can get back on the train)

Not gonna put up any monetary goals as they have no place in goal setting for a poker player. Of course i would be satisfied with a certain amount, but i will just hope to play well and not tilt and let the rest take care of itself.
