Ok so not the week that i was hoping for. I failed miserably trying to hit my daily hours target which when you consider that its less than a third of my total up time for a day is pretty fucking pathetic.

Amazingly the poker Gods decided to bless what little effort i did put in with a bit of run good so i will be taking a shot at 25nl tomorrow.

Posting graphs seems to be very annoying especially with PT4 so i only intend to post 1 a week which ill do on my day off from now on.

I switched it up to 12 tabbing 10nl on Friday and while i don't really enjoy the robotic aspect of the poker i felt like it did help sharpen my game a bit. My goal for this coming week is to cut out all the FPS bs and just try and play a more faceup poker game. I spend far too much time trying to take non defalut lines which i think was largely a product of opening too wide. This is just silly at the micros with such a wide player pool and so many weak players. Its time for me to shore up my fundamentals.

I've had some interesting feedback on one of my hands in the forum about opening sizes so i'm going to be experimenting with that as well. I have been opening to 2.5x from all positions (sometimes min otb) Its just something that has worked for me. This could well be a big leak of mine tho and definitely warrants some exploration.

Most importantly heading into the new week i have a new plan for hitting my hour targets. My current appraoch has been to play for an hour, take a break and come back. The problem with this is I lose momentum really fast in the day. Its only a matter of time until one break becomes over an hour long and im pissing the rest of the day away watching 20 minute comedies. Instead of this i'm going to play one monster session right out the gate (with a 4bi stop loss). I'm going to get up, snap go for a walk to wake up, have a shower, light breakfast then solid play. I've never set out to play for this length of time before (aside from Mtts a few years ago) so i imagine i will really have to dig deep to make it.

One final thought is that i'm not going to rewatch any show that i have already seen this year. I have probably spent over a year of my life rewatching shit that i have already seen. Admittedly some of this time was insane value (West Wing and The Wire) but there is no need for me to have seen every episode of the big bang theory 4 or more times. I just piss time away doing mundane stuff because its easy. I really need to break this cycle so that i don't squander this year and the oppurtunites that have been afforded me.

So to summerise this week the plan is

1. 10bi shot at 25nl
2. 6 hour 4 table monster session right off the bat every day.
3. No watching random bs that i have already seen.
4. 1 training video with notes a day.
5. Don't be dissapointed with the amount of effort i have put in at the end of the week.

Jonathan.

Feeling pretty awful today, my mother is a school teacher so pretty much always brings a ton of viruses home with her. Only managed 3 of my 6 hours, going to get an early night and hopefully wake up feeling better.

Played 3 tables all day as i was struggling to concentrate on the dynamics i had with the different regs. Played pretty meh in the first session, nothing bad but nothing good either. I was much happier with my performance in the 2nd session, didn't make any hands vs the recreational players but i gave the regs on my right a pretty hard time.

Up $8 running another $7 below ev from 804 hands. I'm sure there is an eay way to post graphs from Pokertracker 4 without uploading to image shack but i'm not going to tart about with it now, will post my graph tomorrow with red and blue lines.

I'm starting this blog so i have a public record of my goals and the efforts i make to achieve them. 2012 will be a defining year for me, i want to make every effort to ensure that it is a big success.

I'm going to be setting goals for myself which i will review and update at the start of every month.

January Goals

1. Play 10nl using a 40 buyin strategy. I'll be taking 4/5 buyin shots whenever i hit 40 buy ins for the next stake. I hope to be taking a shot at 25nl inside this month.

2. Put in at least 6 hours of grind 6 days a week. This has been my biggest stumbling point so far in my poker life. Other stuff is just easier and comes with less pain. Why grind that extra session when i can just play Football manager, no chance of losing my entire days progress there (lol mindsetaments) This is my most important goal and the one that will make or break me throughout the year.

3. Post a graph everyday with thoughts on how i played.

4. Play 3-4 tables with limited game selection. On the whole i don't want to be using much time or energy on finding softer games. I would much rather focus on trying to establish reads on my opponents and work out ways i can beat them. This is obviosuly not be the best approach in terms of maximising my hourly but i think in the long run it will be the best for my development as a poker player. I want to be comfortable on any table with any kind of player on my left or right and know how to correctly exploit them or stop them from exploiting me. I don't want to use the fact that there are some ridiculously soft tables at the micros as a crutch.

5. Keep learning. I'm going to watch 1 training video everyday and make thourough notes. Also i'll be posting at least 2 hands a day in the micro forum and try to respond on a number as well.

Leggo

One final thing i would like to add is that i am ridiculously happy with my decision to join Leggo. I think the quality of the instruction in the videos is fantastic and has already had a tangible impact on my game. I would also like to thank anyone who has offered feedback on hands in the forums. I think that this is of great benefit to everyone and hope we can all improve together.
