Fold would have been better but it's still close (at 4NL against him).

Hand 2:

NL Holdem $0.04(BB) Replayer

FLOP ($0.64) A 8 7
SB bets $0.64, Hero calls $0.64, BTN raises to $2, SB calls $1.36, Hero raises to $3.80 (AI), BTN raises to $4.51 (AI), SB calls $1.72 (AI)

Hero wins $0.16
Good one, right.

Hand 3:
Quote:
NL Holdem $0.04(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.02)
BB ($9.35)
CO ($9.27)
Hero ($4.21)

Dealt to Hero Q A

fold, Hero raises to $0.12, SB raises to $1.02 (AI), BB calls $0.98, Hero raises to $4.21 (AI), BB calls $3.19

FLOP ($9.44) 8 5 8

TURN ($9.44) 8 5 8 7

RIVER ($9.44) 8 5 8 7 9

BB shows 7 K
(Pre 35%, Flop 22.5%, Turn 69.0%)

Hero shows Q A
(Pre 45%, Flop 62.2%, Turn 11.9%)

SB shows 6 Q
(Pre 21%, Flop 15.3%, Turn 19.0%)

BB wins $6.07
SB wins $2.91
Nothing special about this, but still found it funny.

That said. It's hard not to get tilted by all the ****ing min checkraises, min 3bets pre,... if you're not running that good. I run a little above EV but that's because I win most flips or 60/40s.

10NL will be for in a week or maybe two.

I didn't play that many hands, I still have a lot of work I have to do, but the weekend so far was good. I run pretty good, winning most flips.

There are some hands I remember.

Hand 1:
Quote:
NL Holdem $0.04(BB) Replayer
Hero ($3.96)
BB ($0.72)
UTG ($5.03)
CO ($4.22)
BTN ($3.53)

Dealt to Hero A K

UTG calls $0.04, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.20, fold, UTG calls $0.16

FLOP ($0.44) K 4 Q
Hero bets $0.34, UTG calls $0.34

TURN ($1.12) K 4 Q T
Hero bets $0.90, UTG calls $0.90

RIVER ($2.92) K 4 Q T 6
Hero checks, UTG bets $1.46, Hero folds

UTG wins $2.78
Villain was pretty new at the time, running around 60/16, AF: 1.7. Even though I think his river bet is pretty weak, it's pretty hard for me to beat anything here. Yes, some Kx hands, but I think there aren't that many in his range that haven't made 2p on that board (KJo, K9o). Maybe some Qx hands, QJ, QT. I doubt he floats flop and turn with Ax.

Hand 2:
Quote:
NL Holdem $0.04(BB) Replayer
SB ($4.18)
BB ($3.74)
Hero ($4)
CO ($0.60)
BTN ($6.27)

Dealt to Hero A 9

Hero raises to $0.12, CO calls $0.12, BTN calls $0.12, fold, fold

FLOP ($0.42) 3 T 6
Hero bets $0.30, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.30

TURN ($1.62) 3 T 6 6
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.82, Hero calls $0.82

RIVER ($3.26) 3 T 6 6 6
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.44, Hero folds

BTN wins $3.10
This hand was on the same table, a few hands later against the same villain. I know I raped this hand but still going to post it, public shame helps me to play better. I was still a little confused from hand 1 (that happened 2 hands earlier).

I normally don't open A9s in UTG but I thought the table was good enough so that it could be a profitable open. I should have c/f the turn, but yeah. 3b-ing this flop is probably spew because he never folds anything he c/minraises with here and we're most likely flipping at best.

So far so good. Only 1k hands though but I don't plan on playing 10k hands of 4NL either.

I play at Ongame, so the tables are 5max. I didn't really notice much difference between 5m and 6m, except that I can play some more hands.

It took me a while to get all my mods set up because I really can't play standard tables. For the moment I'm using Ongame BetPot and I like it a lot, I will probably have a hard time going without it. So I will have to try and find a solution when my trial expires, 30$ still is a little too much at the moment, mostly because I'm not sure if I'll keep playing at Ongame.

Even at these limits you'll find some standard TAGs/LAGs (I would say, on average 1.5/table, myself not included), which in a way is suprising, but I can't expect to be the only one grinding 4NL.

I need some time to adjust. I already misplayed one hand where I missed a lot of value. I still find it a weird hand. I though some overcards caught a FD on the turn. Well, I just was wondering what the hell they are calling with here.

This hand was also a bit weird, only had a few hands on him.

Quote:

SB shows A T
(Pre 26%, Flop 9.2%, Turn 4.5%)

Hero wins $2.74
If anyone reads this by accident, sorry for the 4NL-content, but yeah, bankrolls don't build itself. Only up a little over 1BI though.

I accidentally misread a board in the beginning and lost a BI to that, fail.

After donking around for a year or two, I've decided to document my journey through the micros a little bit better. I've used to play anything up till 25NL with bad BRM, until EV raped me and was almost busto. But as I was kinda sick of the micros, I couldn't get myself to start from a BRM-safe level.

Between those periods I also took some time off poker (this sounds funny to say as a micro stakes player) until a few months ago I wanted to start playing again. I've always wanted to play HU because it's in my humble opinion in a way the essence of poker. Also the fact that you have the fish to yourself, you can make easier and faster reads (and it's easier to remember because I'm at max playing two people at the same time).

Playing micro stakes HU has improved my game immense, I was always so weak postflop. And when you're not tilting it's pretty fun. Because that is also something I learned, HU can be very very very tilting.

Enough blabla. I've deposited 98$ and will start playing soon. I will start with 4 tables at 4NL and move up to 10NL when I have 200$ or more. I can still easily beat 10NL and with some decent table selection, 20BI should be enough, depending on how many tables I will be playing.

I also have some money on other sites, 40EUR or more on iPoker for micro HU, some 40$ on Everest and some other small amounts.

I will try to update as much as possible, just for myself, and try to stop thinking about what stakes I could beat if I had the bankroll.
