Just played a very sick session winning about 10 buyins in an hour.

But anyways, without being results oriented, by looking at my graph this month I think there might be an improvement.

NL25 6max 9.92bb/100

It's a very small sample, but I really do hope this is a sign of improvement.

  1. Three of my hired Coaches say I should be winning even at higher stakes than I currently play.
  2. I've been losing/breaking even over 80k hands of nl25 (can't even believe this).
  3. I have a hard time accepting these results with the time i've put into this game.
  4. I seriously can't win hand at showdown or run any type of successful bluff during this.
  5. I whine too much.
  6. My red line nose dives even though I play 22/18 and 3b like 6% with a WWSF of 47%. Weird.

I cry out for a coach who can commit to help me more than just over one session.

The harder I try, the more I fail. Or so it seems.

I deposited $200 at Full Tilt figuring I would try to build a secondary bankroll there starting from nl10.
Since I am a 5ptbb/100 winner at this stake I thought it would be a simple task. i underestimated variance.

Here is my graph:

It's "only" 20k hands, but it still feels insane. I didn't think variance could be this bad.
The problem as you can see following the blue line is that I do not win at showdown. This is where you make your money versus players who call down too light.

The problem these 20k hands is that they call down too light and either suckout or improve their hand on the river. On top of this there are tons of coolers.

However enough about that, it happens to everyone.

How can I improve?

1. Stealing from SB seems extremely profitable. I added "fold BB to steal"-stat and for the last 10k hands I've been stealing with a 100% range against players with 60%+ in this stat. It made my SB profit go breakeven instead of consistent loss.

2. The rake is EXTREME at NL10, it's close to 6ptbb/100, which makes winrates lower and variance higher. Be aware of this.

3. Do not tilt, ever. I have spewed probably almost 5 buyins due to tilt. This is hard, really hard, but it's something that I can improve a lot on.

4. Btn steals are extremely profitable aswell vs the nits. Same goes here as for the SB steal, but instead we are in position vs two players. Last 10k hands with wider stealing range has been great.

5. I need to tighten up my CO and UTG range. Both of them are not as profitable as they should be.

6. 3b is very profitable. I am at breakeven with it because of allinEV and coolers. Just remember to keep at it.

I'll keep playing and hopefully run better for the next 20k hands, I'm sure I beat NL10 easily, even though doubts creeo into mind after a run like this.

Haven't been playing for a while. Jumped in to test the waters at NL25 on PokerStars after building up a bit at NL10 this month.
I must say NL25 regs are overaggro/spazzy more than I've ever seen before.
They 3b/4b like no tomorrow, and they won't hesitate to stick it in pre with AQo BTN vs UTG with no history.
On top of this they don't like to fold postflop. I mean my red curve is going waaaaaay down. They float, they check raise they do anything to avoid folding the hand.

Just rambling it off I guess, hehe. Always annoying to drop 4+ buyins when taking a shot. Just need to break and rebuild.

I had some dollars left at FT so I gave it a try at NL10. It's very fun and very easy to put in hands.
It's hard not to play really nitty when they call ANYTHING! I suppose that is NL10.
Started by losing 7 buyins due to coolers and bad beats, but managed to turn around.

LOL RAKEAMENTS

Ok, I'm going to zoom out and looking from where I restarted my bankroll. I started at NL10 November 1st 2009.

I actually first dropped 14 buyins and NL10 trying to play like grogheadflow, lol.
Then there is NL20, NL25 and NL50. If we are looking at my allin-EV curve it looks a lot better than my results.

I've been in contact with Thac and I will be playing 4 tables only for a while. This means that I will most likely not make my 100k hand goal, but it's ok. I need to work on my game first.

It's depressing that after 4 years I still don't beat NL50. I seriously feel like I am genuinely stupid. Before I started playing poker I was a pretty smart guy and people around me actually thought I was intelligent.

It has come to a point where I'm either all-in or all-out. This mean that if I'm not getting a coach who can improve my game I will instead quit. Sometimes you have to accept reality...

Here is this years graph so far, still **** in both non-showdown and showdown. At least I had a good blue line when I was a nit back in the days.

Reading all book, post hands on forums, watching tons of videos and having 1 coach simply is not enough

To make poker more fun I will call goals for mission and pretend I have orders to accomplish these...

Mission 1: "Operation release the hostage"
Collect addtionally 2145 VPPs at NL25 on PokerStars to recieve $300 bonus.
Plan: 12 table NL25 for approximately 20k hands

Mission 2: "Climb that cliff"
Reach a bankroll of $2000 and make the jump into the battlefield of NL50.
Plan: This will hopefully be accomplished during mission 1 since I only need $500 to reach $2000

Mission 3: "Kill the variance"
Play 100k hands in January.
Plan: Schedule the whole month so that I will always be on pace
