I've started to play tournaments at Pokerstars. I'm also playing the 'Step' SnGs for the WSOP, EPT, and LAPT. They are great because you can enter them with FPPs. It's incredible how bad the players are at the cheap buy-in tournaments. I managed to get in the money in a PLO8 tournament, but did'nt fair well in the texas tournaments. I need to play more than one tournament at a time, because they can get very boring when playing fullring. I want to start playing some HU soon. Plenty of action lol.

Yesterday I had another group lesson with Greg. We covered ranges and situations, with emphasis on check-raising OOP, and raising IP on the flop. The depth of thought when analyzing hand histories is very thorough, and there were definitely some enlightening moments. I can't recommend this course enough for SSNL Players looking to take the next step up the ladder.

I haven't played much poker in the last few days, so I've got some catching up to do. I want to play some tournaments on Sundays at Pokerstars. I'm due a decent result lol.

I spent the weekend in Weston Super Mare for some training in Sales, which turned out to be learning the bait & switch technique - bad times. Weston Super Mare is a seaside town, with lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, and even a pier with an arcade - good times. There are no motorways on the journey from my place to WSM, so I drove through some lovely countryside, and even got to see Bath, a Roman town with beautiful architecture.


I recently found an Indoor Karting Centre, not far from where I live. I've been karting in Moscow and had a great time. My son will live in the centre all summer lol.

Boy, can that kid play the banjo! 'Deliverance' is an excellent film. Be prepared for a shock though. Ride 'em Cowboy! Yeeehaaaaa

I had another lesson last night. We covered a lot of theory, which Greg explained in a clear and concise way. These lessons are really making me think on a far deeper level than I had previously thought. Learning to play poker is like learning a new foreign language. At the beginning, you're just learning lots of words, and a little grammar to sew some basic sentences together. Then you graduate on to more complex grammar and sentence construction, then one day, before you know it, you're speaking like a native. Beginners at poker speak very primitively, 'bet', 'call' 'fold' and 'raise'. Advanced players say 'what have you got?', 'I've got a good hand', 'you're weak', and 'you call me baby and it's all over'. Top level Pros debate Einstein's theory of relativity lol.
