aejonesStories and Adventures of an Implied Millionaire
First off-- I'm a frequent guest on the 2+2 Pokercast, but this week was a particularly long stint talking about the Durrrr Challenge. I always enjoy talking to Mike and Adam because they ask good questions and seem to really enjoy what they're doing.
I've been playing poker lately (wtf?). It's been a few weeks, and I'm proud to report that the games are good. It seems that you can actually get people to play you if you try hard enough. Sure, it's not what it once was, but if you want to succeed in poker you can-- and when you get to 10-20 and 25-50, there'll be beatable games waiting for you, imo. The key is that at least I'm finally playing a reasonable volume. I might keep winning at 10-20 and 25-50 and losing at 50-100 and 100-200, but the fact is that the latter group is just going to have a tenth the sample size. Nothing I can do about that. Yesterday I played really, really well-- and only won $2k (ran about $40k below EV, small sample size in the 50-1 games). Today, I played pretty poorly. If yesterday was my A game, today might have been my C game. I really hate when that happens, but I quit pretty quickly today-- and up $15k! Is that ironic Bobbo?!
