Past the 12k hands mark,

Hi Leggo readers,

I am working my way up to a good sample although I think I need at least 100k hands to see if I can actually beat the games.

I jumped in to some really good $0.08/$0.16NL games today but ran bad over 3 k hands, ran kings in to aces 2 times and lost QQ vs AK 1 time, but it’s all part of the game and I feel I have a good grasp of tilt so I decided to just end the session when I lost back all my profits from the start of the session but ended the 3k hands $13.47 down which given how the hands played out I was very happy about.

So far played 12k hands with a win rate of 4.17BB/100 which I am not too happy with but I know it really does not tell me much with such a small sample.

I am always trying to improve my play by going back over hands after each session; I can see spots where I am struggling- hand example-

In this hand I thought I had a good idea where I was until the river, then I had no clue what range to put him on when he bet and if this was a standard river call with ace high.
I find this type of spot difficult, I would sometimes 3 bet these hands pre vs. loose openers but this guy was 14-9 over 31 hands.

I know I need to get better at hand reading on the turn and river but not sure the best way to go about doing that.

Zaza videos have helped a bunch as he explains ranges well but when I am in game I find it hard.

On a quick note this is the range I use for pre flop in 6 max but looking through my HM2 I don’t seem to be making 22-44 profitable UTG would it be better just folding them and swapping them for some suited connectors?

Any feedback and advice would be great.
Will update again as soon as I can.

Thanks Guys Ben.

I would not open A9s and A8s UTG. Also JTs and T9s are fine to fold pre flop because of domination issues. If there is a whale in the blinds, also open like K9s, K8s, KJ. If you want to open suited aces because the table is tight, better open A2s-A5s because they flop better equity.

In general I think it looks good man, just think the small suited aces play better than the medium ones. Believe there is also a video about opening ranges, so you might want to watch that. Just look really good at the table and what hands play good there. Like everywhere tight players behind you and fish blinds, open more broadways since they flop top pair and that is nice vs fish. Tight players at entire table, less offsuit broadways but more suited hands, etc.
