Thought I'd post my first blog on legopoker - always kinda of kept an eye on the blog circuit - so want to contribute and put my own thoughts out there. I've never really done a blog/journal before - but it would be great to actually write down what I think, analyse it and hopefully get some feedback.

Backround: 21 year old, in my final year of university

Poker: Had an awesome 2010 in poker - made about 250-300K playing midstakes. Haven't been playing much recently (2/3 months) as I have had to focus on exams. Want to get back crushing in 2011 and have also been trying to play a bit of PLO and specialise in that - PLO is such an interesting game - its fantastic that I have SO MUCH to learn - I feel like a complete PLO fish.

So stuff to work on in PLO (HU):

Work on a solid game
-Stick to a 80-90% raise on the button
-Don't be scared to 3 bet: 10-15% (tight range)
-Defending bb opens: keep a tight range - hands that have a lot of connectedness
-Defending 3bets: Don't defend 3bets too lights - defend with hands that have some connectedness (ie. not not JJ24) - think of dangling cards.
Post flop:- really think of board texture: start with cbetting 80% of flops
-think of how turn card connext with opponents range

Adapting to opponents:
-Opponents who 3bet a lot: tighten up my open range: call 3bets a little bit wider
-Opponents who are overly tight: cbet more, barrel turns more etc

My PLO challenge: Going to start off playing 1/2 PLO HU - maximum of 2 tables at a time - take as much time as possible to focus on my decisions.... When I feel confident, more up to 2/4 etc

-Keep learning! Watch videos and finish off jeff hwangs book. Keep on thinking about how to get better and leaks.

I will post results of my poker sessions (in NL and PLO) - keep working on my weaknesses and improving as a player.

In general this blog will stick to my poker sessions but I will also cover in some details forex trading which I am learning about as well...

Thanks for reading for reading this! Helful comments v. appreciated.
