Real Life - Video games and Poker

Hello everyone,

I would like to make a small update about my life in general and Poker. I know that my blogs are not very interesting because of the language barrier so I try to make it interesting with the subjects I choose.

Real life:
I do not have much to say about my life because I am pretty ashamed of it and I don’t really know what to think to be honest. When I was 14, I was normal person; I was a serious student (I was not a hotshot but I was not a dunce either), I was a very good sportsman and here is the list of the sports I used to do:
Football - I started football when I was 6 after watching a few matches with Roberto Carlos that I am a real fan of. It is thanks to him if I started football as well as Real Madrid. I used to love them in the past because they did not have that many stars, they were just a standard team with a lot of potential but then this team became more and more ridiculous in 2001-2002.
I was not that good in football but I still achieved a few good things in my “career” than I am proud of.
Badminton – I started Badminton thanks to my school. I enjoyed playing it because it was so intense and because I was lonely on the fiend so I could not whine towards the other people like I used to do in football. So if I was doing a mistake during a match, it was my own fault. After breaking 7 rackets (About 100 euros each) I started to be calmer and it helped me much in the future.
Swimmer – I was not in a club but every Friday, I was going to the swimming-pool with my father and I was usually swimming about 1.5/2 km (About 0.9-1.2 mile if I am not mistaken).
Biker – I was in a club so it was not a competitive one. I was riding a bike every Sunday.
 Mountain-climber – I was in a club but I was climbing only during summer in the Alpes where I was mainly doing Via-Ferrata. For those who do not know what Via-Ferrata is, it is a “mix” between hiking and climb.
Kayak – I was only a kayaker when I was going to the Alpes as well.
I think that I enumerated all sports that I practiced. When I was 14, I was also enjoying hanging out with friends as well, playing video games on console etc … So as you can see, I was a normal person at that age.

But then, I started to have health problems when I passed my first important examen at school. It is during that examen that I started to stress a lot. Nonetheless, at that time, it was not very serious and I thought that it was normal so I did not really care about my health yet. Then I switched to high-school and it was the start of all my problems … A lot of things have changed, I was not in the same class than my other friends so I was “alone” in my class and it was hard for me to get new friends because I considered they were different than my other friends. The teachers were a lot stricter, the way of learning was really so different and I had a hard time to do my homework because I was coming back to home very late and I was going to sleep in late as well so I must admit that I missed a few days because I was really tired and my eyes were “red”. After a few months, I started to get my stress back and it was very painful so I started to miss classes more and more and when I was coming back to school, I had to make up for lost time. I was getting more and more sick and my old friends preferred to abandon me than helping me so it did not really help me. After a while, my parents were really worried and my mother really helped me a lot. I saw a lot of doctors, I was often at hospital, got some surgical operations but nobody found what I had, it is later one that they thought about my stress. After 3½ years, having gone in two different high schools, I got kicked out and I had to stop studying thing that I got a hard time to admit. After this “experience”, my personality really changed, I used to be a bit arrogant and I did not really care that much others, I thought that I was more “important” than them but then it was the contrary, I was the one being alone and I really started to have a “heart”. Since I did not have any diploma, it was very difficult to find a job and I was very sad about that because I was planning to study well and try to become an interpreter (I actually wanted to talk English/Spanish and Chinese). So it was very difficult for me to see that I had to fight to find a job where I would not earn much. After 2 years without finding a job, I started to give up. When I had a talk for a job, whether I was lying about my sickness and they were telling me that they did not want a person who has not any major diploma and they thought I was a lazy guy or whether I was telling them the truth and they did not want to hire me because they thought I would be sick again in the future and they did not want to take this risk. So now I am without a job but I still have the same dream. I still would like to move from France to an English-speaking country and be housed by a family and do something called “au pair” if you know what I mean. I would like to get housed for free and in exchange I do help them for some tasks. My cousin did it in the US and it went very well. I also would like to work in a bar or something like that so I could pay the family for their kindness but well it seems that it will not happen soon ^ ^ I was planning to play Poker to pay me this trip and finally start a new live again but as you may know, there is a new law in France about online-poker so I will not be able to play Poker again (at least in France). The funny thing is that I am sure at 100% that I could do well in Poker, I do not say that I could reach the 1KNL, but at least 600NL. Maybe it would take me more time than others but I would achieve it.

I think I said enough about my real life, I have more to say but well, it would take a few more pages ^ ^

Video games:
When I was younger, I was a huge video games fan. I got my first console when I was 8 if I am right, it was Nintendo and I remember that I only had a few games that I was really enjoying to play. When I turned 10, I had my first (and last) communion and I received a Playstation with two games, Gran Turismo (Surely my favourite car game with Need For Speed) and Tomb Raider II (I got them all and I really enjoyed them, my favourite was Tomb Raider III). Gran Turismo is a game I played a lot, I really loved this game and I even remember the first car I bought when I had enough money, it was this blue Subaru ^ ^ and then Mitsubishi I also enjoyed driving with the yellow concept car but one of my faovurite car was the Bristol one, I cannot exactly remember the name. God I really miss this game. On console, I also really loved games such as “Metal Gear Solid” which is the most interesting game I played and I am sad that I did not buy the Playstation III. “Metal Gear Solid – Snake Eater” was a great game but I finished it too fast, about 2 days. The first Metal Gear was awesome as well but I got a hard time to get all the keys, there was always one that I could not find ^ ^
Another game I enjoyed a lot was Soccom where you needed to use your microphone to give orders to your team.
I will not talk about Fifa, Need For Speed, Driver and Worms? (=D) which are games that most of you surely know. I used to have a lot of fun with worms ^ ^

A few years later, I switched to computer games and I played Worms but also Warcraft III – ReiGn of Chaos and The Frozen Throne (Where I was a player and admin) as well as Defense of the Ancients also known as DotA (Where I was a player and admin as well). I think that I did a lot of great things in video games and that is surely the only thing that I am not ashamed of. I met a lot of great people from all over the world including one guy from Sweden who taught me a lot and I get very good contact with him and a French guy who was my “boss” on a site called www.ShadowLeague.com. They are surely the only people who trusted in me and in my capabilities and I thank them for that even if I know they will not read this message ^ ^

Poker:
Poker is such an interesting game that I really discovered last summer while I was playing a DotA game. My “boss” was in this game with me and told me that he would play this last game before he plays Poker where he does well at. I do not know why but I wanted to know more about Poker and he introduced me to a Poker strategy site where I started at. I really thought that Poker was a game which required more luck than skill but this site proved me wrong and I totally got griped by this game. Nonetheless, I was not planning to play it seriously in 2009 but my mind changed in 2010 when I started to play it more and more and when I discovered some good sites which provide videos/articles etc as well as some forums including twoplustwo. Then I wanted to switch to Coaching sites and I found a lot but it is LeggoPoker that I decided to chose because I feel that the atmosphere is way better than on the other sites. People are great and I did not expect that people would greet me that well. Moreover, I think that they have the best videos compared to the other sites.
Nonetheless, as I previously said, I cannot play Poker anymore because of the new French law about Online Poker so I must stop except if I find a way to go to an English-Speaking country. So until I find a job or move from France, I would like to dedicate my time for the Poker community. I like talking about Poker even if I am not really experienced and I would like to do things that I used to do when I was in eSports and I think that both categories are pretty the same.
In 2010, I really thought that Poker could have been a great helping in reaching my goals and starting a new life but unfortunately, it seems that I will have to find another way but I will still try to follow the “Poker scene” as much as possible.

I think that I should stop writing; I think this blog is already long and I doubt there will be a lot of people who will read it since it does not concern Poker that much. For those who read it, I hope you enjoyed doing it and maybe I will do another blog when I will have more ideas. Any feedback would be really appreciated and feel free to contact me if you have any question, it can be about Poker or other things.

Thanks again to LeggoPoker and I hope that everyone from this site will achieve great things in the near future.

Kind regards,
DrakaZ

Because the site I wanted to play at already refuse French players. About the French room, I am not interested at all because after a few months, the room will be as dead as PokerStars.it. Moreover, I will lose a lot of money because of this new law, the room will take 2% of each pot for every 1€ if I am not mistaken. We won't have rakeback, the room will keep the money so ...
