After a long wait I finally finished watching The Wire, probably the best series I ever watched. I liked the most the fact it seemed real (at least the first 4 seasons). At the beginnig I thought it was a boring show but after watching a couple of episodes I started enjoying it more and more, becoming an addict. It was nice watching the evolution of the characters, like the decay of Avon Barksdale, the evolution of Marlo, Daniels jumping from liutenant to deputy commissioner, Carver from detective to liutenant, Boodie rise from D'Angelo boy to having his own corner, Stringer Bell going up and down. It was nice seeing characters like Rawls or Valchek hanging in there kissing bosses' asses.. Probably the most fictional character was McNulty, screwing every nice chick in the show, driving drunk, faking serial killers, etc.. Obv, the biggest disappointment was the way Omar died, c'mon... but probably he was to gay to be so cool... what's the irony, being shot from behind..
Anyways, I am not the best guy for making a review for the show. I liked it and I advise everybody to watch it if he didn't already. But after watching this show you start asking yourself questions like: who is more fat?? prop joe ![]() or sg. landsman ![]() I once thought they are one and the same guy. Did you ever seen them in the same scene? Unfortunatelly the 5th season went nuts with McNulty inventing a serial killer and Marlo getting away, but the picture of Chris and Wee-Bey in the end was so real... they both got a life sentence and their bosses got out (Marlo immediately, Avon after 2 years before being sold by his "brother"). With all that said if you ain't watched go watch it!
