A Revolutionary Revelation

Like a bunch of other US grinders as evidenced by the first graph below, I made the jump over to the Revolution network with Lock poker. The instant spike in avg players is pretty significant and it feels like the games are pretty good at the micro stakes over here. Not much different than Merge imo.

One thing that sets Revolution and Lock specifically apart from the other rooms are the amazing promos they are currently running. Between deposit bonus, Ronin, and ********, I'm making a rather nice clip before I even look at the results from poker. But results and winning are what we care about and I'll get into that shortly!

I think I talked about my recent switch to FR in the most recent blog entry, but for some reason I can't view my blog at all. But anyway, I was away from the game for awhile, but recently rekindled a love for poker and poker learning. I used to play 6max but now wanted to try FR as I have some friends that have had success there and I reason it's an excellent place for me to develop a new approach in addition to the basic skills I already have, especially since I'm also considering grinding live when I have an appropriate bankroll.

About a week before the move, I started watching thac's Intro to FR series and between the hands he played in real time and discussion for some of those hands, I feel my understanding of situations at these levels has improved immensely. The graphs and stats below show how my game has changed somewhat via some tweaks in my game. You can kinda see how the redline at the end of this first graph starts to level off towards the end and that slower declining redline persists in the after graph. That's about the time I started the thac series fwiw. I'd say the biggest changes I've seen in my game are my ability to construct more accurate ranges for villains and knowing when to open up my game in late position.

Before:

After Move:

Both are rather small samples, but I think this new graph is representative of the changes I've made to my game and where I'm headed in the future. Also worth noting that ~90% of the before hands are 10NL and 85% of the after hands are 20NL. I know not to become complacent with my results and to study as much as I can at every opportunity. I will continue to read HHs in the forums and I have a few videos that I want to watch as well. This should keep my education away from the tables focused for awhile. As part of my session, I need to continue completing session reviews and making sure not I'm not spreading my mind across multiple tasks.

Moving forward, I need to complete several tasks to continue this path of success. For poker, I need to continue growing my circle of poker buddies and possibly find a group learning environment that will further my knowledge base. I also want to try to both give/receive a sweat and make a live play video discussing my thought process, which will help diagnose holes that I know exist when I'm playing that don't manifest themselves away from the table. In life, I'm going to continue strength training 3x per week and sprinting 3-4x as well. I am also going to continue a very high protein diet in an attempt to achieve strength and for my own narcissism
