Someone shoot me in the head if this is how it's going to go. 170 hands played in 24 minutes and $435 below expectation. Nice

Guitar lessons are going well. I'm picking it up quickly.
Language lessons are much tougher. I'm a retard for trying to learn two languages at one time. I'm learning Spanish and Russian both using pimsleuraudio.com which is fantastic.

Spanish is stupid easy and Russian is just plain stupid. The difficulty in pronouncing the most basic words is insane. I'm seriously having a difficult time just saying "hello" and "excuse me" everything with Pimsleur is on CD with nothing in writing. I think I'm going to have to get a dictionary that writes out the pronunciation a little better.

Later everyone. Better luck than me.

OK, please God let me post this correctly.

http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?i...8220906eo6.jpg

So I didn't play enough hands for September. I ended up playing 18,750 hands for a profit of $2215 plus rakeback. That is a winrate of 5.9ptBB/100. If the graph actually comes up you will see that I had a very swingy month. I'm not whining but i'll do better next month. This was the first month that I played exclusively heads up with no six max at all. I would really like to play 30,000 hands. We'll see

October is going to be very busy. Our new nanny will be here on the 16th. Hopefully I can post some pictures. We're having a going away/welcome party on the 18th. Fernanda is going home and we're bringing in Danila. Both from Sao Paolo, Brazil. At the party I think we're expecting 15 other Brazilian nannies so it should be entertaining. Anyone in the area of northeast Atlanta that wants to attend PM me. If you nerds can't hook up at this party, then I can't help you.

Then we're moving into a new house on Oct 27th. I built it to try and sell it and make some money, but that didn't work out. So I said "screw it" we'll move into it. It's about 5,500 square feet plus 3,500 SF basement. I'll try and post some pictures sometime before we move in. It's pretty sweet though. Custom everything all through the house. I'll put my poker room/office up against just about anyone. The entire room walls, ceiling, etc are custom made maple with a nice dark stain. Huge stone fireplace with plasma over it. I'm installing surround sound in it right now so it will be ready when we move in.

Oh, I almost forgot my wife and I are trying for baby number two this month. Hopefully things will work out if my back holds up. LOL. During certain days she seriously thinks we're 17 years old in Panama City on Spring Break. Good luck me.

That's it for now. I'm going to try and post twice a week this month to keep myself focused on poker. NO tilt please this month and let my boys swim.

OK so I tried last week to get coaching from one of the Leggo guys and I couldn't even get a reply to my PM. That's when you know you really suck. I guess I'm beyond hope. I'm looking at a couple others right now. Hopefully i'll get something soon. Poker has been up then down and now back up again. I was up 14 buy ins then lost 12 then I went back up to about 15 buy ins for the month. Hopefully I'll finish strong.
That's it for poker. Stop reading if you don't care about my life. I finally sold a house and it closes on Friday. I've been working every day for the last week and a half to do this long punch out list. buyers' markets suck if you're a homebuilder. or exhomebuilder as I am. I can't remember if I've mentioned it or not but I have an agreement with my business partner that I'll suck a kock before I build a spec house again. I realize no one here knows me but that is about 100% not going to happen.

I started my guitar lessons and I've already switched instructors. I found one guy in Winder for $60 an hour and he just didn't impress me too much. Again, I've never played the guitar in my life but I just had a feeling I guess. So I went with this guy in Gainesville that is younger and closer to my age and about half the price.

I'm starting my Russian language lessons next week. I'm very pumped. I learned through Youtube how to say "listen to me" Random. I don't plan on ever getting divorced but if I do I will be moving to Miami in a heartbeat. There are so many hot Russian and Brazilian girls it's sick. Again, I don't want to get divorced but a little preparation never killed anyone.

I'm going to Miami next weekend for a little business and just some relaxing at the beach. I'm going by myself and I just want to lay at the pool, eat a ton of food, watch PPV and fall asleep and manage to sleep the entire night. I think I'm staying at the Trump Miami or the Ritz Carlton in South Beach. Both are pretty sick but to stay in South Beach it's basically $100 extra per night for not a whole lot. We'll see

I suck at updating. Everything has been super busy the last few weeks. Work is busy because everyone wants their book the day they order it. I'm trying to devote like 3 hours a day to poker but it isnt' always easy. I've stuck to my goal of only playing HU NL for the entire month. Through today I've played 11,000 hands but my winrate is stupid. It's only 4.69ptBB. I'm too embarassed to find out how much I should be up. I donk/tilt so many buy ins it's sick. It's at least 10 buy ins. I think I donked off $400 today. here is a graph from today. heads up poker for me is very simple. When I concentrate I win. When I start playing stupid from out of position I lose. I started playing at about 7:00 A.M. this morning and as soon as I logged on Clayton from Leggo sat at two of my tables. Of course I sat out like the little ***** that I am

[/IMG]

I hope this shows up because I also suck at putting images on my blog.
Today was an eventful day. Not just the anniversary of 9/11. I changed my second diaper. And it was even a poopy one. Yes I have a daughter who is almost 2 and I've only changed two diapers. Hell the first one was in the hospital when she was born and I basically just held some stuff for my wife. Just because I have only changed two diapers does not mean I'm a bad father. I think I'm a great father. We play, read, walk and do all kinds of stuff all day. I prefer to think that I'm such a great husband my wife thinks I don't need to be bothered with diapers.

I finally sold a friggin house. I forgot to mention that I'm also a homebuilder. I've built five houses in the last 4 years and I'm too embarassed to admit how much I've lost. Someone asked me the other day what it was like to build your own house. I told them to go out to their car and open the door. Stick hand along the car and slam the door on your hand as hard as you can. Then repeat this about 4-5 times and leave it in place for about 30 minutes on the last time. This should give you a clear idea of what it's like to build a house. My business partner asked me if I'd ever build another spec house and I made a promise to suck a random man's **** before I built another one. I'll try and include some pics of the houses I've built later. it took me 5 houses to actually figure things out and the last one I built is completely bad ass. If anyone wants to see what it looks like go to garrellassociates.com and look up the plan for "lansdowne place" Then go to worthyhomes.net and you can see what it looks like finished. This guy Clint Worthy built it and I just copied his.

I'm also continuing my learning in other areas. I've always been interested in learning other languages. I speak pretty decent Spanish because homebuilding is basically Mexican daycare. My Portuguese sucks even with a Brazilian nanny. I ordered the whole Spanish series from pimsleuraudio today. Its about $00 but worth it if you really want to learn a language.

I'm calling tomorrow to sign up for guitar lessons. My wife bought me a guitar and I have no idea how to even tune the thing.

That's it for now. Later, JOhn

Lots of stuff has been going on lately, so I haven't updated in a while. From now on I'm going to update twice a week even if it kills me.

Work has been very busy with college starting back up. Everyone basically wants their textbook the day after they order it which usually is not possible. Buying textbooks online is a great way to save money but students have to realize that it usually takes 7-10 days for them to receive a book. I didn't play much poker last week because of all of the work, but this week should be back to normal.

Poker stuff
I've been trying to play 10,000 hands each week plus watch a video everyday. I've been playing $100NL heads up on Full Tilt for the most part. Over my last 13,000 hands at $100 NL HU on FTP I'm up about $2300 for a winrate of 8.9ptBB/100. I really would like to get a heads up coach maybe like once per week to help with my game. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm cool with anything up to $300 per hour. I've never received any heads up coaching but I think it would definitely help as I move up. I'm trying to figure out how to post a graph right now. We'll see how it goes

Nanny update
Our nanny Fernanda is going home in October and we are replacing her with another girl from Brazil named Daniela. My wife is busy with work so the task of finding a new nanny fell to yours truly. Basically the agency gave me a list of about 150 twenty-two year old girls to choose from. It was very tough but I narrowed it down to two girls from Brazil and one girl from the Ukraine. I don't know what it is about girls from Ukraine but almost every single one of them are hot. Look it up for yourself. I presented my 3 choices to my wife and she made the final choice. it didn't help Alina from Ukraine that she emailed us a picture of herself in a bikini. My wife deleted her first.

Later all and good luck at the tables, John

I just deleted my first paragraph but I'll try it again

I generally try not to focus on the negatives in life, but sometimes you just have to. Number one on my scumbag list is usually Jesse Jackson. I think he is just bottom-of-the-barrel scum. I don't know if my opinion of him would be any different if I were black, but I sure hope not. I read a good book one time titled " Shakedown" and it basically describes in detail what a scumbag he is. Black/white relations are always very interesting to discuss and I'm always more than happy to give my opinion. Black/white relations in Atlanta or the South in general are always fun to discuss. The racial geography of Atlanta is something I hope to discuss in detail at a later time maybe. Let's just say that Atlanta is the most geographically racially divided city I've ever been to.

Second on my list is pretty much every attorney I've ever met. I've known probably 20 attorneys in my life and I've asked them all why they went to law school. Nearly every single one answered the same way. All pretty much said that they weren't ready to get a real job or coudn't find anything they wanted to do so they decided to stay in school for 3 more years.

I recently had a lawsuit where I was the defendant against my Homeowner's association. We had a disagreement over amount owed, etc. I thought it was ridiculous that they were even suing me. I used Wikipedia to file all of my own motions, etc. At the time I had no idea what a "Motion for Summary Judgement" was. Good ole Wikipedia walked me through the whole. Long story short, I won and they lost.

Poker has been going good this month. I think I'm up about 20 buy-ins at $100NL on Stars and FTP and down a few at $200NL

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to post pictures here in my blog?? Please talk to me like I'm a 7 year-old. Thanks

Good luck at the tables to everyone. Later, John

OK, I've got a lot of blog to cover here so let's get started. First are my July goals

1. Play a bunch of hands. I have a ton of free time so there is no reason for me not to play a ton of poker. September is my busiest month of the year at work so i'm playing as much as possible.

2. Play those hands as good as I can. Simple enough

3. Get Supernova on Stars. I think I might even be able to get it this week with the double VPPs. We'll see

4. Watch a bunch of videos

Marriage advice. Guys unless you are already married it is not too late. Ending an engagement is no big deal. Trust me I've been there. The fiancee at the time actually did it for me so that one was easy. If you are on the fence about whether or not to get married PM me and I'll give you my cell number. 4 minutes max and I'll talk you out of it.

Miami. I go to Miami once per month. One of my suppliers is located in Miami, so it works out perfectly. Sometimes I'll substitute Fort Lauderdale so I can play SNGs in person at the Hard Rock Casino. But this is only when I'm feeling particularly sadistic. Travel advice tip. Try to book all of your trips through lastminute.com or orbitz.com They have package deals and you can pick a decent hotel. I'm a hotel snob so I always try and stay at the Hyatt close to the beach or Trump's hotel.

Here's a funny story from when I was in the Navy. I joined the Navy right out of high school and stayed in for 5 1/2 years. I was feeling very sadistic at that time. If you are thinking of joining the Armed Forces see the part above about PMing me. I'll talk you out of it.

So one night I'm in the lovely armpit of Florida more commonly known as Jacksonville. I was in town for about a month going to a useless class when some of us went out to an all-you-can-eat chicken wing bar. A good tip is to never try and pick up girls at an all you can eat wing place. I didn't listen to my inner voice. I got way drunk and started talking to the female beside me. One of my buddies told me the next day that she was wearing a "satin Chevrolet heartbeat of America" jacket. You really can't make this stuff up. Long story short we went back to her trailer (again not kidding unfortuately) and I woke up when the sun came up. After a quick puke in her sink I tried to tip toe out the door when she woke up and caught me. She asked me where I was going and I stated that I was going to McDonald's to get some breakfast and I'd be right back. She quickly reached across the bed for her purse on the nightstand. At that time I got a pretty good look at how fat she was. She handed me a $20 bill and asked if I would get some biscuits for the kids. I of course said "what kids?" and she pointed to two kids sleeping on a pallet beside the bed. I said OK and I'll be right back. I went to McDonald's and put that $20 in my gas tank and hit the road.

I did feel guilty a few weeks later if it helps any.

Alright, I've tried blogging in the past and I've sucked at it. This will be my final attempt. I had one at Cardrunners, but I've given up on it because I've given up on Cardrunners. I thought the site was so great until I found Leggo and Deuces Cracked. I'll do the mandatory stuff about me first. I will say that I am not a fantastic young baller poker playing stud. I'm not fantastic at much and I'm definitely not young. I am a baller though. Unfortunately zero of my cash is from poker.

I'm 34 years old ( am I the oldest member?) I'm married and a father of an 18 month old sweeeet daughter. I'm prob the only married father of all the members. I own my own business selling college textbooks. I have a degree in Banking and Finance from Univ of Georgia and I was a commercial banker for 4 years (BB&T and it sucked) I've been self employed for about 3 years now.

We live about 30 minutes NE of Atlanta in the suburbs of lovely Barrrow County, Georgia. My wife teaches 7th grade English. We also have a live-in nanny/au pair from Brazil. We thought it would be cool just like you see on tv and it hasn't disappointed. She's great with the baby and no I'm NOT banging her.

Our nanny's name is Fernanda and the odyssey of her obtaining a driver's license could take 20 paragraphs. I bought her a Honda after some nagging from my wife. i then gave her some lessons and I was close to tears in the parking lot where we were practicing because she was so bad. I'm not sure if it's possible to die at 14 MPH but she gave it her best shot. She then lost some of her immigration forms which cost $350 and 10 weeks to replace. Then after 4 attempts and 8 weeks she finally passed the driving test. She passed the written part on the first try despite having terrible English ( I have no idea how) I told her if she didn't know the answer to just click on "C" and I guess it worked. She has now passed the test but can not get her license because they are trying to verify her immigration status despite having a valid visa. By the time this gets worked out she will seriously be in the country for 2 more months before she has to go back and we get a new nanny.

Now for the poker stuff. I'm not that good but I'm pretty sure I'm not the worst either. I play only 6 max cash games on Full Tilt. I play occasionally on Stars when I feel like getting prison raped. I guess I'm a regular at the $.50/$1 tables. I think my biggest struggle is tilting. I've had Stars and Full Tilt self-ban my chat to stop me from berating people. I seriously have no idea why I did it in the past, but it can't happen if i can't chat. I think I'm long term winner at about 3ptBB/100. i guess that makes me an average regular. I get coaching once a week from a very good 2/4 player and it has helped tremendously.

I'm going to use this blog to tell some funny stories and also to keep me honest with poker. I feel like a lot of people including myself aren't honest when it comes to poker. people only like to talk about their wins and very rarely their loses. I will have plenty of both.

My short term goals are to be a 1/2 regular within the next two months and hopefully be playing 2/4 by the end of the year. We'll see how it goes from there. My long term goals are just to have fun with poker and not take it too serious.

I really enjoy traveling so if anyone needs any travel tips let me know. My wife and I usually go on 3-4 decent vacations a year. Costa Rica, Italy, Spain, and anywhere in South America are my favorites. We also just got back from our first visit to Vegas. It was as cool as I expected. We only stayed for a few nights, but we had a blast. For places I hate, I wouldn't got back to Jamaica even if you paid me and I don't think I'll go to Cancun/Mexico again. I've been to Cancun I think 10 times and I've seen everything they have to offer. I went a lot of times with my best friend Doug before I got married and we had some memorable times. We try to go somewhere new every year but it's tough with a toddler and another might be on the way sometime next year unless my back goes out.

I really enjoy Leggo and I feel like they have some great videos and I hope to learn a lot.

later, John
