^ Probably how Seabeast reacted to his play with 1st place win

JK, Thats a sick score by the beast like usual though and congrats.

February was a pretty sweet month pokerwise and I hope I run as good in March and every month for the rest of the year. Been trying to establish myself at 10/20nl and its been going pretty good so far. The games are fairly different from 5/10nl with the calibre of players though thats to be expected.

I'm also pretty stoked about that Watchmen movie coming out, the last time there was so much hype behind a movie it was The Dark Knight and we all saw how well that turned out so hopefully Watchmen wont disappoint either. The song in the trailer is totally badass.

Got a couple papers and an exam this month but other than that I should be able to find some time to hit the tables and put out some more quality vids for the all the members! Hopefully I dont end up procrastinating which sometimes ends up happenin and I end up watchin tv or playin video games instead of grindin haha, It's always sunny in Philedelphia took up a lot of February as I got into the show after watchin a couple episodes and watched all 4 season.

Anyways I've gotta grab some food before I head to class so good luck at the tables!

Back in like September, I got a bell wireless modem cuz the internet on my campus was really stupid and didnt work. SFU internet is probably one of the worst internet connections for universities it seems like, every few weeks it starts going funny which is why I've been so desperate to find a stable internet to be able to play 10/20NL and such without d/c from pots. I've been d/c once so far and it cost me proly around 2 or 3 hundo.

So obviously once I set everything up bell's wireless modem is also iffy at best. Probably cuz I live on the west coast in canada and they're a heavily based east-coast company. I ended up cancelling once SFU got its internet working again but obviously a month later it goes out again. So I decide to use bell again even tho their internet is mediocre at best but its better than nothin.

Its terrible to even try to settle payments with Bell. I tried to set up an account on the internet for pre-authorize payments but the website was stupid as f*ck and couldnt let me make an account for w/e reason. So I actually GO to a bell store nearby and they tell me that they can't handle the payment either, they only sell phones. WTF?

So I end up talkin on the phone for 30 mins (takes forever for them to pickup / transfer u to the right departments) with bell service reps before paying it off. I ask the girl if she can jsut set it up so i dont have to deal with this shiznit every friggin month. They tell me they dont have preauthorize payments over the phone and I have to call in every month!!! How is this even a big company?!

So in nov/dec I start getting multiple freakin bills from the company. And I call in spendin another half hour talkn to service reps to get it shut down cuz im being billed twice. I end up cancelling everything in January cuz they're a terrible freakin company and tell the girl to pay that **** off and I dont wanna deal with em nemore.

And now I'm still getting calls from bell telling me I owe them money cuz I guess they didnt cancel all of my multiple accounts they stupidly set up for me. Its jus so freakin frustratin cuz they probably cost me $1000 of time that I could've used playing poker dealin with this **** and they want me to STILL pay them $250 cuz I'm being billed for internet im not even using... Plus when you cancel apparently it takes them 30days to cancel ur account so im gettin billed an extra month cuz they have a slowass system... I just dont get how they are doing business when they treat customers like crap

My advice though is to never go to that company for anything. Internet especially but I wouldnt even go to them for cell phones.

I was at a Safeway last night and ready for the cashier girl to scan my stuff so I could pay and leave. I'm in line behind a couple of girls and the cashier girl looks over to her manager and is like pointing to her watch signaling to him that her time is done and she wants off her shift. The manager tells her that she needs to finish her customers and not just leave them hanging which I think is pretty standard to do. But she looks all dejected and sad, I start to feel bad for her but then she starts moving ridiculously slow while bagging my stuff like she's in safeway hell. I was kinda pissed at her about it and then a couple more ppl came in line behind me. She looks to her manager to say somethign but he's busy talking to someone else to even care. She also didnt seem to speak much english either otherwise she couldve just told them to go to the other line.

Sometimes I feel bad that there's people out there working at subway or whatever for $8.50/hr and complaining that they dont get paid overtime cuz their boss is so cheap... but thats kinda the way it has to be in society for things to keep working. You can't have people working at mcdonalds making like $15 / hr or we'd all be paying a ton for a meal.

I feel lucky to not have to work a "regular" job and to be yelled at or bossed around by managers anymore. Or to have to put up with getting paid way too little money for doing work I have no interest in. I still remember how that was not too long ago and am loving the money/freedom/independence that comes with poker.

Its crazy to think that you can make so much money playing cards on a freakin computer and I think thats why there's so many different threads popping up about people asking whether or not they should go pro. Should they get a job or take a shot at being a professional? seems to be the thread you'll see every month or so. But it makes so much sense when you realize that ppl graduating from 4 years or more of eduation at a university are only going to be making around 50k / year if they're LUCKY. Whereas, people playing 1/2nl can make that pretty easily counting rakeback I think.

Im really glad I decided to stick it out with poker and didn't lose focus. I was also lucky to run well when I was first starting out so I didnt get discouraged cause thinking about things now, poker is probably one of the best jobs out there.

Well the internet at my campus ( simon fraser university) has been suckin like it does from time to time. At the beginning of last semester, it was down for 2 weeks. Its been cutting in and out lately and I've been tryin to play poker through it since it reconnects pretty fast but today I got d/c and lost a couple hundred bucks while playin 10/20nl. At least it wasnt a big pot or nething but it doesnt make me feel good about playin on the internet here...

i've been trying to find an alternative, steady source of internet so Im thinkin of gettin a wireless card.
Of course you have to buy a package regarding the amount of internet usage, so Im wondering if anybody knows like how much playing poker online actualy uses? Any idea how many kb playing like 10k hands or 20k hands would use up? I dont want to end up buying the biggest package and end up only needing the minimum when they try to sign you up for a yearly plan so any help would be appreciated.

Also if anyone could reccomend a good wireless card/usb and a provider for Canada would be great.

Startin to feel really good about my game and running well always helps.
Here's some hands
DonaldRM ($600)
Luis Lantigu ($3,459)
HoytCorkins5 ($697)
villain ($3,374)
Checkmate824 ($2,000)
Jma ($3,477)

Luis Lantigua posts (SB) $10
villain posts (BB) $20

Dealt to Jma 8h As
fold,
Jma raises to $60
Luis Lantigua calls $50
villain calls $40
FLOP ($180) Kc 8c 6h
check, check,
Jma bets $125
Luis Lantigua folds
villain calls $125
TURN ($430) Kc 8c 6h Td
check,
Jma bets $310
villain calls $310

RIVER ($1,050) Kc 8c 6h Td Ts

villain bets $980
Jma calls $980

villain shows 3c 7c (Flop 39.8%, Turn 27.3%)

Jma wins $3,008

Flop bet is pretty standard here to protect my midpair hand which is probably best and not give him the green light to pot bet turn and river into me with any two cards when scare cards hit.I really felt that once he check/calls the turn Im probably behind to a KQ,KJ type hand... however once he shoves the river I think that he now is repping a hand like 66,88, or Tcxc, 79 or air, but I also thought villain was the type of player who would check/raise sets on the flop most of the time and he would most likely have check/raised the turn with a lot of his sets/straights/Tcxc hands. That being said I was only really worried that he backed into trips somehow but I see a lot of air and decided to call after using up a large portion of timebank

.----villain -- ($925)
Famai ($1,630)
Jma ($1,045)
sweet_pee_w ($1,975)
Eye_0fTh3_St ($1,426)
Miss_Bliss21 ($2,856)
----villain -- posts (SB) $5
Jma posts (BB) $10

Dealt to Jma 7d 9d
fold, fold,
Miss_Bliss21 raises to $35
----villain -- calls $30
Jma raises to $140
fold,
----villain -- calls $105

FLOP ($315) Jd 3h 7s
check,
Jma bets $235
----villain -- raises to $785

Jma calls $550

TURN ($1,885) Jd 3h 7s 7h
RIVER ($1,885) Jd 3h 7s 7h 3s

----villain-- shows 4s 6s (Flop 21.3%, Turn 9.1%)
Jma shows 7d 9d (Flop 78.7%, Turn 90.9%)Jma wins $1,882

In this spot, I had seen the villain who isnt a reg at these limits spew out by doing pretty much the exact same move w/ air. When he check/shoved I felt very confident that his range was air or Jx with a lot more air than pairs. So I called pretty fast and was happy to see his hand didnt contain two overs.

I know there hasnt been much poker content in my blog lately and I will definitely have to change that, but not too many interesting hands that go down other than what I post in forums from time to time, but maybe I'll just start puttin in the biggest pots I play or something but that can be kinda meh contentwise since it'll usually be flips or whatnot.

Onto the vids:

So I'm pretty much done with poker for the rest of the year as I'm heading to my buddy's cabin in the afternoon and won't have internet up there. I'll be there to bring in the new year and probably a day or two into 09. We're plannin to just drink, ski/snowboard, play video games and play some small stake poker stuff ( so I guess I wont be exactly quittin poker but just online poker but thes takes that will be played will not be anything substantial). It should definitely be good times to bring in the new year.

2008 was very good to me in poker even with the terrible evening out of variance as of late that has made me seen some really sick beats / coolers over and over. It will def make me a better player especially in the mental aspect. Getting signed to LeggoPoker was a great sense of achievement and I am going to do my best to put out quality videos and come up with new innovative things that other coaching sites arent doing right now. I'm pretty sure that 2009 will be even better pokerwise and I hope to be playing and beating the 10/20 and 25/50 games before the end of it.

I'm also accepting students for coaching right now as there has been a good amount of interest so if anyone else is interested feel free to PM me and I will try to fit it into my schedule if possible. For more information, you can just check out my profile.

I hope you guys are ending 2008 in a good way too with your friends and/or family!

Merry xmas, or w/e holiday that you are celebrating at this time of the year. I've had a lot of snow lately in my area and I've been getting snowed terribly and can't really drive anywhere too well. It is pretty brutal cuz I've been having a mad craving for all you can eat sushi that is like a 30 min drive to get to and its too tough to get there right now.

I have been really working on my game this break studywise, but need to put in more hands. I think the game that I'll be playing will be even more solid and +EV so you better watch out if you're at the 5/10NL tables. I am pretty happy I think with the changes I'll be implementing in my game which will probably be reflected in future vids Im putting out.

I havent opened any gifts today yet, not even sure if my parents got me anything since I'm a tough person to shop for cuz I buy whatever I want/need haha. My dad's outta town so it sucks that he wont be around for xmas but life goes on. Hope you guys are having a great holidays, good luck at the tables.

I've been doing well in poker all of 08 until having my first losing month in october. This november hasn't been any better as I think I've run worse this month/last month than I have ever have in my career thus far. they say that there's a time in your career where you will run worse than you ever thought possible, and this is probably going to be one of those times for me.

There's pretty much 2 types of luck in poker I think: Invisible luck and Visible luck. Visible luck is the one we notice more like when we get allin as a big favourite on the flop and then either win or get sucked out on. Or winning a bunch a coinflips would be another good example.

Invisible luck is when the cards dealt or flopped pretty much force you to win or lose. Examples are whenever you raise and your opponent calls, he ends up flopping 2 pair or trips and getting $ out of you. Whenever you raise a hand like 99 or TT, the board comes down KQx, Whenever you raise AK the board misses you completely, etc.

Both types of luck haven't treated me well at all lately...In october and november to date (18k hands):

I've lost 6 buyins with AK against AA,KK
I've lost 7 buyins with KK against AA

Not including bad beats with AA and KK where ppl hit miracles after defending 3bets, getting beat up on coinflips, etc.

positives: the fact that I'm still playing well and after reviewing all of my hands, all my big losses are pretty much coolers, a few bluffs that didnt work out but I liked a lot, and some bad beats. However I'm still up over 100k this year, not including rakeback and thats pretty wicked considering that I dont put in very many hands compared to the pros at my limits while I'm in school. Im also +EV for both months and that doesnt take into account the number of coolers I've been getting.

Its pretty frustrating being down money when playing so well, making money and dropping it back again, and not seeing any results but Im sure if I can get some luck on my side I'll be outta the hole in no time. Wish me luck!
