LP,
Well, as you all saw in my last post, PLO shorstacking (and running hawt) single-handedly brought me back up to a reasonable roll (well, ...~20BI for NL$50 6max). However, I've been having massive swings the past week, with no real forward progress, ending at $875 yesterday.
I decided tonight I would buckle down and play some Holdem. I did well, winning $175 in like 1k hands or so prob (~2 hour session). Gotta keep grinding!!
Summer job is killing me, so poker is kind of a means of relaxation. I feel like one of those 9-5 office guys who comes home and donks off moniez to online grinders. Due to the nature of my job (athletic training), I'm exhausted when I get home, and it has actually positively affected my game. I've always been antsy and spastic in my game, so the relaxation I get from my job is transitioning well to my game, and I hope to continue it.
I'm also very excited at the amount of ******** I've been accruing (PLO runs train on earning ********)...and that has in turn led access to the awesome LP vids this month!!
Thanks for reading and comments welcome,
Jared

LP,
WOW i have not posted in a long while. SOOO after running abysmally for many hands (42k hands to be exact- doesn't sound like a lot, but it takes a while to play 42k hands in 6max at only 4 tables at a time, imo), I've finally strung together some big winning sessions!
So the story goes, as the title says, that I went from $150 to $800 in the past two days (prob a total of 2 hrs playing. Running hot? Ya, I've been running pretty well (but still having some sick beats too).
My backer was about to send me $1.5k more, though he couldn't because I had self excluded myself for the next fea days! I started at $65, then received my ~$90 from LP in ********. I said "fuck it" with my ******** money, and never actually got below $66. Using all of my own money, I started shortbuying PLO$50 and PLO$100 (with the very occasional PLO $200), as well as a few $20 and $30 HU sngs. With some luck, I hope to take this $800, 4table grind out NL$50 6max again, and start gettin to makin moniez!

LP,
I'm sorry I have not blogged in a while (for those who enjoy reading my blog at least). I've been busy finishing up school, as well as being very frustrated with poker. I've been on a nasty, nasty downswing (after ~30k hands, I'm down 50+bi in equity).
I finally had a good upswing though, yesterday! I made $400 exactly (8bi) in last night's 2hr session. Now I'm stuck $480 on the stake (started at $1500 on March 13th) overall. I'm only allowed to 4 table, according to the deal, so I hope you all understand why I've only played 30k hands in this time...in addition to massive frustration and school stuff.
Hands:
What are your thoughts on this hand? Villain is a 27/24, and I'm a 29/24 (lol) and being very aggro at the table. I squeeze, get the call from the CO opener and c/rai on flop. The stack sizes make this hand a bit shitty, imo, since I have 100bbs to the flop in a reraised pot. This guy was pretty aggro...should I check/call flop and c/f turn unless I improve...? In this case, the turn was a heart, so a c/rai would have probably happened anyway. Do I bet/fold? No real history against villain, but I feel he's the type to float here or bet small pairs on later streets when checked to.

Interesting HU hand...
I open with A2o, he calls. I cbet flop, he c/r (wtf) and I flat him. He fires the turn, I raise him, he calls. He checks the river. Do you guys like my value shove? I take AK out of his range. I put him on something like Kx (possibly as high as KJ or KQ). If he had a 5, wouldn't he just shove the turn to a raise (it's gettin drawy, for value, etc). Anyway, he checks river, and I ship for value. Thoughts? Vs an unknown (he's a 16/8) that can tell im very laggy and aggressive, is this play good? If not, what should be my minimum shipping hand? What do you put him on/expect him to show up with here?

LP,
Went to my first live game in a while...it was a 1/3 with optional straddles to whatever (standard was $6, occasionally $15). Starting stacks $300, but eventually some stacks got up to $800-$1k range. Game plays pretty fast because of one or two guys, with the rest being pretty taggy.
Some interesting hands from that game:
The main mark in the game was this like Arabian businessman fish...we'll refer to him as ABF. He was like mid 40s.
Guy to my left was Phil Ivey look-aline/wanna be. We'll call him PIWB. He was ~30
There was a tight asian lady...in her 20s. She's TA.
Early on (few hands in), I could tell ABF was the target. $300 effective stacks. Anyways, guy to my left limps, ABF limps, and 3 other limps, I have the bb with 88. I pop it up to $26 (pot was like $15 pre counting my ships. Fold, ABF calls, folds around. Flop is K85 (zomg set), with two hearts. I fire out like $35, he thinks and calls. Turn is an offsuit 10. I check, going for the c/rai, since I was pretty sure this guy was peeling/floating me...but he checks behind. River is an offsuit 4. I check, he bets $65, I ship, he folds. Kthanxbai. Not having to show my hand there was AWESOME, imo.
Later on, the game was pickin up...this hand got my stack pretty big...me and PIWB have been talking a lot, and we both understand that we both think we perceive ourselves as hotshots lol. I feel like he got the impression i jus wanted to outplay him.
UTG limps, PIWB makes it $20, I cc with 34hh, and one other call from a random guy. Me and PIWB have ~$500 effectively. Flop comes 245, two clubs. He fires $40, I think a bit and call...was contemplating raising, but then I realized I'm raising myself off the hand a lot of the time, since I can't call a shove w these stacks. Turn is an offsuit 6. He checks, and I quickly fire $110. He kinda tanks for 30secs and calls. River is an offsuit 8, he quickly checks, and i quickly fire $275. He goes into the tank, and finally calls (which i figured he would). He bitched FOREVER after this hand btw, lol.
My most interesting hand was when tight asian (TA) limps MP, button opens to $20 (kinda readless, weird asian guy with a pokerstars jacket), PIWB calls, I call with 78 from BB, and one limper next to me calls (I'm kinda readless...he's pretty solid I think, but a bit splashy in his pf calling). Flop is K82, two hearts. Everyone checks around. Turn is an 7s (two FDs now on board)...GIN. Tight asian lady who limped fires $60, and I think a bit and jack it up to $210 (she prob had ~$500 behind). Guy to my left TANKS, and ships with 5 secs left after getting the clock called on him. Asian lady instaships, and I'm left in a nasty little pickle. I tank, and fold my hand face up. Guy to my left refused to show until the river, which blanked. Tight asian lady rolled over K8o (wtf?) and dude next to me had 78o also. I was very proud of myself for that fold...considering it was like $300 on top (getting 2:1 on a double FD board). I put tight asian on a set, and the other guy on a huge turned combo draw.
Won $900 exactly, which was quite cool. So will grind online and try to plug some leaks and see what it do.
BTW how do I post pics on the blog? I can't find out how to upload them from comp...want to post EV graph, as per request of someone who commented on my last blog.
*EDIT: Thank you JaymesBond for explaining how to upload pics!!

LP,
Sorry for not posting in so long! I've been very busy with Greek Week at my school, as well as a bunch of school things. At least I have exactly a 3.0 GPA this semester.
I've been doing great...and running like fuck. Today alone, I lost 4 BI, yet I should have apparently won 3. So being 7bi under EV in 1800 hands feels good, imo.
At my peak, I was up $1250 (after about 8k hands, split evently between nl50 and nl100), then I just doomswitched. I'm down $200 overall in 14k hands, which is sweet, considering I'm $1250 under equity.
Yes, rant.
Here are some hands from today's session.
Before you all bitch on this one, Our stacks were decently deep, and I figured after he bets the flop he's giving up unless he has a REALLY strong hand postflop. I turn gyn, get the majority of the money in overall when I was ahead, to get sucked out on.

LP,
I had a blog typed up, saying I wasn't running so well...then I started running well when I was about to wrap up the session...so ended up playing more and ended up- holla.
Though I won $542 in past two days at NL ($400 in 1900 hands at NL$50 and $133 in 515 hands at NL$100), my EV graph says I should have won $900- ehh w/e.

Annoying hand...surprised he bet so much when he hit the K- didn't give him a large pot:stack ratio, not really allowing for a bluffing range from his villian, and basically limiting the semibluffing fold equity to a few hands. Argh...river miss.

Interesting spot here...villain is a pscyho, who I've won a few pots against, so I figure he's frustrated.
The interesting dilemma is if it is more profitable to just ship the river, or to c/cai. Since I didn't have many hands on this guy, while I knew he was a psycho aggro tilter, I did not know what his exact range is. So...LP, vs your typical aggro villian who is capable of bluffshoving this river, would there be more hands in his bluff shoving range or random shoving range (e.g. Kx just trying to fold out a better hand) than would be in his calling range for my shove...?

Another interesting spot...I c/r flop vs a good TAG on this flop, and turn a FD. Since it's a great overcard, and the QT got there, I fire again...he calls. On this river, when I get there...do I half pot? Do I overship, hoping to get a hero call?
I figure if he had QT, as well as set, Kings up, or a slowplayed J9 on flop. So his call makes me believe he had JT or JQ exactly (imo). However, do I shove this river hoping to get a hero call from him, or do I half or 2/3 pot it? I feel like 2/3 pot may be the best here, in hindsight, since I could be bluffing, where 1/2 pot doesn't really look like it, and this is a scary board to call a river ship on, since I have to have SUCH a specific range to be bluffing with (imo).

Before you guys blame me, its not a bad play for a random on his first hand at the table to make a squeeze play, especially since most players won't 4bet him with ZERO history. Well, I'm not one of those players! I 4bet, he flats...flop I check back to make it look like it was a 4bet bluff pre or a whiffed AK/AQ to set up for him bluffing on future streets. He had KK and ships the river...nice to run goot to end a sesh!

LP,
Started off this morning losing $125 quickly at NL$50 HU. Chilled out today, saw some fraternity brothers coming back to school, etc.
Fired up a session, originally 12tabling NL$100 6max. Ran kinda badly and ran a few questionable bluffs, and ended up getting stuck 4BI fairly quickly. Grinded back to even, got stuck again 4 BI, and ended up cutting back on the # of tables (running out of $ in my account to reloud lol). Cut to 9 tables, and then 6 tables, and ended up grinding to a 4 BI profit. It's a good confidence booster after having those shitty sessions yesterday!
Odd way to play aces...

This hand was vs an okay kinda laggish tag that I have a bunch of history with. I think he thinks I'm a pretty good lag that can spew psychotically (which isn't totally wrong hehe). Anyway, I think he leveled himself into calling, knowing his hand was face up as KK/QQ.

This hands fairly interesting- I make a squeeze pre, and to my surprise, button overcalls with the original raiser. We're both 160bb deep effectively, so I don't mind his call necessarily.
I cbet a sweet flop to cbet in a reraised pot, as I can certainly rep KQ/AK, and it's np to get called on, since I can easily effectively two-barrel vs most villains, as they will call the flop relatively lightly. In some ways, I prefer people call the flop, as I can often...

WTF I ran SO shitty today.
I should have never played HU PLO$200 vs Schnibl0r (some euro high stakes LHE player, but SUCKS at fucking PLO). Anyway, we got into a really aggro HU match where he ended up 3betting and 4betting every hand preflop. I ended up flopping an OESD+FD vs his Top pair+gutshot, and he turned his gutshot and bricked river for $900 pot. He also turned a gutshot straight when I flopped bottom set+straight draw for $400. The final hand before I quit was a $1k pot. I opened, he 3bet, I called with 5577 (with spades I think). Flop KJ5, two diamonds. He bets ~pot, and I call. Turn is a 6h, making two hearts now. He checks, I pot, he thinks a bit and c/r pots, I shop, he rolls over KKxx. YAY ME WTF.
My EV graph had me up $500 or so, but instead, I lost $500 today. Awesome.
WTF at this guys call preflop..ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS RETARD? He was a moron lag.

JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS! I shouldn't have played PLO $200 HU vs a fish, especially not fullbuying...UGH. I fucked up there, but ran sooo shitty. I'm going to take a step back and just 4table NL$100 6max or play NL$50 HU for a while to chill out from 12tabling NL$100 6max (kinda burnt out).
At least I'm all moved into my fucking dorm and excited for school to start. May go to the gym so I don't kill small kittens right now lol.
