how bad was my play?

so im playing 5/10 at commerce with a bunch of fish and maybe two regs (who i don't consider very good but thinking). i raise utg+1 to 35 with KsKh 1500 behind, fish to my left calls with 1100 behind, and 1 of the regs raises to 150 who has me covered and it folds back to me. i opt to flat 1. ive noticed live it's hard to get it in vs worse 2. i want the fish in the pot. 3. i normally play well post flop. flop comes asjh8h. i check. fish checks. and reg bets 305. it might be a fold here, but i think by calling i can get the best hand to potentially fold. the fish tanks and shows another player his hand and then folds. turn is Js. and it goes check check. in my mind the only very strong hand he can have here is AA. i think most boats and stuff will be betting the turn given how draw heavy the board is. i think a lot of 1 pair type hands will be afraid of getting check raised allin (this might be wrong, please let me know, i thought his range was rather weak when he checked turn). river is a 5s. i check and he bets 500. i only have 1165 behind. i opt to ship thinking that he'll fold ak aq all ace type hands that might have decided to 3bet preflop (like a8s a6s whatever). by only having 665 more it's risky because he might just call because the pot is so big, but i figured he was a thinking player and it seems very unlikely that I will be bluffing here. he tanks and calls with aqo.
i like preflop. flop is probably a fold? i personally like my ship on river. what do you guys think?

I don't mind the flat pre, flop is an easy fold, what was the turn card? River is whatever, i'd call or fold and probably never ship, i'm folding here a vast majority of the time.

I think 4 betting pre is better ur oop so obv it makes hand easier to play, but im sure this isnt ur standard so flatting is ok some % of the time (akthough live i try and play ABC)

as played the river is fold or as played. I think you get enough folds to profit but pretty high variance and agree with icarus that as played just fold flop

yeah i definitely agree with fold on flop. my standard is honestly probably flatting KK. i havent seen anything worse than KK get it in preflop live at 5/10, as sick as that is. i don't 4bet very often and normally just call 3bets with a wide range which protects me a lot when i can be calling with KKplus. given that i raised early position and he 3bet early i'm much more likely to flat than to 4bet imo (is this wrong. i'm under the impression that my range would just look super super strong in that case, but if i 4bet when raising in late position and get 3bet by cutoff or button and then i 4bet it seems much more likely that I'm doing it light).

you ever play the 400 buyin game at commerce?

Fold flop usually, definitely 4bet pre. If no one gets it in worse than KK pre, you could probably 4bet jam any ace profitably <= 100bb. I wouldn't worry about protecting your 3bet calling range, live players are idiots.

jupiter: the problem with that is that no one really 3bets light at allllll. it's like super sick people's 3betting range is almost like kkplus (so sick), really depends on the situation obv and the player. but ive been playing quite regularly and there are very few players who i think are capable of 3betting light. in the hand the reg who 3bet just happened to be one of those players, so i thought he had a much weaker range than normal. i definitely agree with you now that flop was a clear fold, but i really really really like my flat preflop ( : / )

goseihappa: no i don't. i like to be as deep as possible and i'm honestly not sure how to play with 40bbs super profitably. commerce structure is like super super awful until you get to 5/10 500-1500. their 1/2 games are 40max, 1/3 is 100max, 3/5 is 200, and then they have two games running at 5/10, a 400 max and then the 500-1500.

yea it's terrible off the bat, but almost everyone has 80+ bbs rather quickly. Just wondering because I've played the 3/5 twice now, just working to build a proper roll for 5/10. I'm assuming the 400 game is softer than the 1500 but 5x as tilting.

ive played the 400 a couple of times (a while ago) and i remember it being super soft. i personally think the 5/10 1500 is soft but yeah i imagine the 400 is much softer and people are probably making a lot more mistakes in terms of sizing preflop and just hand selection in general.
