Maybe about 3-4 chess videos ago, curtains half-jokingly said that he should make some short stacking videos. This got me very excited. I messaged aejones and curtains, and basically got a response of "if there is enough demand for it, then we will make the videos." I'm not sure how they are trying to determine the demand for these videos, because I haven't seen either person ask the community. I'm probably not the best person to be doing this, but "Hey, leggo are you interested in short stacking videos." First let me list the reasons why I want to learn the art of short stacking.

1. I think it will help my tournament game
2. I'm a bumhunter (yes I said it). Often the fish will have 40bbs or less and I'd rather be playing with 40bbs (or however much the fish has), so that I can be risking less vs the solid regs.
3. It'll be nice to know how short stackers think, so if I'm playing deep (which I am 100% of the time currently) I can play profitably vs them.
4. IT IS COSTING ME MONEY THAT THERE AREN'T SHORT STAKING VIDEOS. Currently, on the site that I play on, A LOT of short tables (20bbs-50bbs) run....and I just fricking suck at them (yes, even with fish at the table...I just find myself getting it in wayyy too light)
5. This isn't really a reason...but YES guys I realize people don't like short stackers (I don't either), but it's a matter of money at this point. People don't like that everyone sits out when a fish is stacked, but that's just how it is (at all stakes).
6. I like to learn about poker!!! Yes, there is always more to learn with 100bbs, but rarely do I watch a video and I'm like "holyyyyy shit I just learned something awesome today!!!"...that is what I'll be saying if there were short stacking videos (because I don't know shittttt)...

I'm not saying that I don't want curtains to make chess videos anymore...obviously his chess videos are amazing. However, a series of 2-4 short stackers videos would be f-ing amazing. Soooo yeah, that's my ramble...

If anyone else shares my interest, please leave a comment and message aejones and curtains...(They want to see that people are interested...this is the only thing I could think of because nothing was getting done)...Even if you don't care, think about your good buddy jonstermonster and all the money he is losing because these videos aren't getting made...Thanks guys! ^_^

Very good idea, i would like to see this series of short stacking videos too, would be a further addition to the current Line-up.

I'd be interested. I'm wondering how to set stuff up so I can figure out ranges myself. I read a post on 2+2 where someone said bvb it's best to minraise a lot from the sb and call with top 20% of hands pre and c-bet a ton postflop. Unfortunately to beat ss'ers you have to learn how to ss yourself.

providing someone good at shortstacking was making the vids i think they would be very educational. there are plenty of cap players who have good winrates actually at highstakes so im sure leggo could get one of them on board if they really wanted to.

under 25 bb nlhe is pretty "solved" and the information is out there. additionally, sites (stars) have 40or 50+ bb tables, so you raerly have the giant discrepancy of 20 bb tables to 100 bb tables.

if you want to learn short play, pro poker tools some ranges and learn the sklanskly shoves that are unexploitably profitable. that isn't to say its application might not make a great video, but it really isn't rocket science.

for 40 bb type stacks (there are some south americans and europeans who like to do this), the math is much more fuzzy .the cliffs are that they're super wide for value and will not hesitate to get it in light (they're making much smaller mistakes getting it in super light and it's more important that they fight for blinds and opens than worry about getting it in with ATs every once in a while, they feed off of FE). there is more but im not an expert on it, although i do get some of htem to play pretty poorly vs me.

additionally, there aren't many winning shortstackers that want to make videos. i am unsure how curtains feels about it now, but he was definitely not interested back when he was playing pre-BF. edges are very real when that short, which is why 3 years ago it was such a hush hush thing, the smallest mistake (someone opening and folding to too many shoves, someone opening and spite calling too many shoves) was printing several dollars at a time. the application is probably pretty sensitive information. fwiw i have some friends who play the short games and they say the best thing about them is that donks start with 40 bigs and get up to 120 and have n oidea what ot play with 120-- they are non math based players who have won a lot of money at cap and short games. it's still poker, bet sizing is just smaller because there is less equity t oprotect.
