Vegas Dining Recs?
Posted in Poker | View Comments (8)

Will be in Vegas for a week starting this weekend. Any recommendations as far as places to eat? Will be staying at Cosmo. Been a few times before and know about the pizza place and Holstein's. Overwhelmed with all the places in the LVL 2p2 forum, wanted to see what the folks over here liked. Able to occasionally go off the strip (have a friend in the local area).

Also, is laundry service reasonable or is it better to pack enough clothes for the entire trip?

Laundry service not likely reasonable at Cosmo. I LOVE Holstein's. I HATE Blue Ribbon. Would only have the Honey Wasabi Fried Chicken there, everything else is SUPER over rated. Mon Ami Gaby at Paris had one of the best steaks I've had in Vegas and it was reasonably priced. You have to get it with the Chef's signature redwine reduction sauce. Also the appetizers were fantastic.

Alize at the top of the Palms was amazing. The service and setting was unreal and the food was top quality. Very expensive though but I highly recommend.

Naked fish is a must. Go hungry and try a lot of things. Still top sushi spot in Vegas IMO although others would disagree.

9 Steak house at the palms was good. Very high energy place with DJs and celebrities when I was there. Prices are fairly high and portions small, but very well made.

I really enjoyed Sugar Factory at Paris. The drinks are outrageously priced but we got over that by CCRing or degening in some form of fashion for each round. You won't get drinks like that anywhere else.

Thats all i got for now.

Jeff already named some of my favourite places. I loved Alizee and I've always had great experiences with mon ami Gaby, Naked Fish and Grand Lux. One of the best dining experiences ever was Cut at the Venetian, so I'd definitely recommend that (try the bone marrow starter if you go there). Don't go to Sage unless you like a 100 dollar BBQ Rib.

I'm not sure if you're American, but otherwise I'd also stop by at some fast food chains. Chipotle, In&out and buffalo wings have changed my view on life.

You can grab a great $18 burger at the Aria cafe, I forget the name. They also have awesome pastrami sandwiches and a bunch of other things. If you're going to be out there for WSOP too we should definitely meet up.

I had bone marrow at Wicked Spoon last night. Was really expecting to like it, but it just seemed like some watery, jelly-like fat with not much taste to it. Variance?

Also, just saw Hot and Juicy Crawfish on Man Vs Food. That place looks pretty good, anyone ever been?

We had bone marrow at Cut and it was good. Not great, but good.
