what up!
First off, congratulations to thac who went deep in the pokerstars sunday million and booked a $6,500 win. from what I saw he played well and ran hot. rooobusto!
I just took a trip to san diego this weekend, so I missed two days of the prop bet. I went to an indian casino and played 2/5NL with a max $1,000 buyin. I only played for 4 hours and broke even (the game got shorthanded which was great, but eventually broke). The players were horrible and I was happy with my result because I ran into KK vs AA and eventually laid down my KK postflop. I am a genius right?! (he showed the AA). I can't wait to play higher stakes live (when i'm 21) since 2/5 is the highest I can play but not really worth it.
I'm going to play iggytt on Full Tilt heads up tomorrow. That should be fun.
The month is not going so well. I lost 4bi's at 2/4 in 400 hands and am not going to play at that limit for a while (until I have like 30 buyin's). I was doing well at 1/2 until today when i went on a 5bi downswing without any tilt / major spew. Pretty brutal.
This is something I want to write for myself so that I can reflect on it later in my life when I am not so busto. Throughout my entire poker career (which has been like 6 months), the biggest problem I've had was self-discipline (/ control / mental stability). I made over 16k in one month at 3/6 and 5/10 and lost a large percentage of it because of tilt / moving up to 25/50 to chase my losses. (I lost KK vs QQ aipf at 25/50 which really destroyed my life for like a day). I feel like my play is improving everyday, because I constantly discuss strategy / hands with thac / watch videos / think about this game. I've always loved the competition and had so much fun playing with guys like Dr. Giggy / 20 Buck Spin / nomed / zero2lose many others. I think that they would all say I am pretty difficult to play against and that I adjust well. Ever since I came crashing back down to 2/4 then 1/2, it's been a pretty hard grind. I'm constantly not happy with my results since I compare them to what I used to be able to make. I am definitely disappointed with myself at this point. Here's to constantly improving / growing up mentally!.
Sidenote: I checked my results for my entire year today. I'm not sure how accurate the $EV Winnings crap is because I don't like looking at it. But I am down almost $10,000 in all in equity. Then I realized that these EV calcs don't change the real money in my account and is pretty useless. At least it confirms that I can be a winning player at pretty high levels.
so I guess i'll copy thac on the update thing
