I'm in Tokyo right now with a bunch of friends having a blast despite losing every single CCR, being a bit sick and exhausted every day. Had a bit of down time today to reflect and reevaluate how far I have come and where I want to go from here in terms poker and life. I had a fantastic 2012 where a lot of things came together for me in terms of the level i am playing at overall, which just happened to coincide with my best year ever as a pro. I haven't played that much online in 2013 mainly due to traveling, playing live, and being in the united states, however i plan on getting back in the streets and battling as much as possible for the remainder of the year.

I wanted to outline some goals for the remainder of the year as I often lack focus and motivation.

- Right now I am playing mostly 5/10+ NL, but where I would like to be by the end of the year is cutting out any games below 10/20 and having a much larger % of my volume be at 25/50 and 50/100. I know its a pretty lofty goal, but at some point i would like to be able to have some battles with the top guys these days (Sauce, Ragen, Kanu, Ike etc) at the highest stakes.

- Continue to spend time coaching and working with my horses to improve their game and move them up the stakes. Coaching improves my game as well and is something that I enjoy doing more and more, plus its fantastic to see the sick win rates of everyone i work with along with how much they have improved as poker players overall.

- After WSOP, do a lot of work on PLO and Mixed games. It is going to be difficult to go from the highest levels of No Limit to basically a beginner in a lot of these games but it will be a good change of pace to keep me mentally stimulated in addition to the EV I gain as these games are probably not nearly as tough as no limit these days.

- Get the patience to play more tournaments. It seems the level of play in MTTs is still terrible these days compared to the level of play in HU or 6max cash games where basically everyone is really good. Sure i sacrifice some life EV playing a worse, dumbed down, less interesting form of poker my bottom line in theory should improve.

GL everyone.

P.S. would be interested in some HU challenges vs. anyone from Iveypoker (including mr. Ivey himself). Make it happen

I am looking to add a couple of stakees that can play on region specific sites (i.e. stars.it, stars.es, stars.fr, winamax, etc). More info in this post: http://www.leggopoker.com/blogs/klin...unl-11224.html, the same details apply.

Poker background and experience is way less important than working hard on and off the tables as the learning curve will be steep and difficult. I play almost a completely math and game theory oriented game, so basic understanding of both is also a must. I have a handful of guys that i currently coach and stake, some starting with no HU experience, that are all winning and very high bb/100 winrates at mid to high stakes.

pm me here or on 2p2.

Pretty awesome year for me, beat my previous best year of poker by $200k and last week I won the $5k HSNL fantasy football league for the 3rd time. Had some really rough times this year as well, which resulted in me losing a 6 figure amount to scams/poker sites going down/general nonsense, but i am optimistic about the future.

Currently on "vacation" chilling in Thailand with my friends at the moment, going to head to Melbourne for my 3rd trip in 3 years to Aussie Millions, which I am incredibly excited about, then back to Vegas to reevaluate things. I'm excited about the upcoming year, in terms of playing poker and working on some other projects. I have recently come to the realization that is a very limited amount of time left where online poker is going to be very profitable therefore I have to make the most of it before moving on.

Hope everyone else had a good 2012, happy holidays!

I play mostly 3/6-10/20 and specialize in HU/short handed play and deep stack play. I think the structure in these tournaments will be really good for me as the deeper the stacks the bigger my edge is going to be, also for the HU ive done a ton of work learning HU SNGs and I would beat just about any stakes HUSNGS online, also took 2nd in the WSOP 10k hu this year.

carrycakes (mexico) on stars, can also take boa, moneybookers, party, etc.

whats up guys, I am looking to take on one more student to coach and stake at HUNL, to join a stable of players I am currently a part of. A bit of back ground info, the stake group consists of some of the most successful HUNL players in the past year at all stakes and I also have complete faith in what I am teaching is the best way to approach the game. In the past year or so, the stable is up over $400k without any bum hunting and we have moved dedicated players up from micros beating 2/4+ playing exclusively regs (a handful are now playing 5/10 - 10/20 taking shots at 25/50). In fact, you will be encouraged to play tough opponents to improve your game at a faster rate.

I think this is a fantastic opportunity for almost anyone. You will not only have weekly coaching/hand reviews from me, but you will be able to talk strategy with some of the biggest winners in the past year at mid to high stakes on a daily basis. You will also be put on enough sites to get enough action so your volume won't suffer.

Stuff I am looking for:

1. Credibility: If I don't know you personally, or if you don't have a stellar reputation or references than don't bother applying.

2. Intellegence/Poker Background: A solid grasp of math and some game theory is a must, as is some poker background. If you are lacking on either its fine, but you will be required to learn some stuff on your own and I expect you to be diligent about it. I honestly don't care what you play or what stakes you play, its way more important how fast you pick up concepts and apply them.

3. Hard work: You will be required to drop any other game you play and focus exclusively on HUNL (at least initially). You will be required to play a lot and study your play a lot, and you will be given homework assignments. Honestly the sky is the limit as far as what you want to accomplish (here's an example: my current roommate in Montreal was playing .25c/50c and 1/2 live in January of this year and now hes beating 5/10 and 10/20 HU)

4. Personality: I can't stand people that are argumentative or hostile, you will be required to do what you are told. You have to be easy to work with, as I am going to be spending a lot of my time working with you.

Stuff I need in your application:

- Poker and education background (brief history, HEM screenshots, etc)
- References (details about your relationship with them that demonstrates credibility, or have them write out reviews about you, I do not just want a list of people)
- Time available per month (include your volume/hours at whatever game you played before per month)
- Any other pertinent info you feel like you want to include.

Please PM me here or on 2p2.

*I will post some more trip reports w/ pics from this year in a later post, and try to update this blog more often...

I've been chillin in Vegas since the end of the WSOP really not doing much besides crushing 100s of dollars of sushi every day while plotting my next move. Went down to Tijuana for a week to grind on stars only to lose about $35k (DAMN YOU WILLHASHA), and since then I haven't played very much at all besides a few matches. Other than that, I haven't really been doing much besides watching and gambling on the Olympics and Starcraft 2, and playing the occasional live session when a good high stakes game runs. Living in Vegas outside the summer is actually kind of cool. The food places I really like are much less crowded and everyone is way more laid back. Also, I never have to step foot in the Rio for any reason.

Other than generally being lazy and unproductive, life is pretty good. I had a really good summer which also included having some small swaps come through huge (swapped with Greg Merson in the $10k 6max which he won for $1.2 mil, and have a swap with Russell Thomas in the ME, which if he wins will net me a large 6 figure sum). In general I feel like I am in a really good spot poker wise; I have a solid group of intelligent and hardworking friends I can talk i depth strategy with and work out kinks in my game on a daily basis. In addition i'm comfortably rolled to play basically whatever games I want and I can easily sell action for anything really big. The downside is without being on stars it is getting increasingly hard to get action in anything at mid stakes and higher, to a point where I am not playing nearly as much as I should.

Going to Montreal with Fees and co for 6 weeks to grind on Stars during WCOOP, to run get some good volume in and play some donkaments on the side. I don't know too much about the city but Fees tells me everything is awesome there so I am pretty excited to check it out. After that I am probably going to head to New York and Boston since I haven't been back to the east coast in well over a year and I have tons of friends I want to see. After that, I'm planning an epic Asia trip with the crew, probably stopping in Japan, Korea, Australia, Thailand, Macau, and some other countries. I'll post a trip report and pics of the previous Asia trip, but just know Japan and Korea were super epic and awesome cities overall.

Fantasy football is going to start soon and should keep me occupied. I am super excited for NFL season to start, already doing some mock draft simulations and getting some background work done. In addition to jumping in every high stakes fantasy football league that runs, I'm putting together the pieces for a large sports betting conglomerate. It will probably start out with a $50k bankroll using full kelly. I have a group of handicappers I have a lot of faith in and I will be supplementing it with plays I know are mathematically profitable (wongs, etc). Working on getting accounts on a lot of sports books set up so I can effectively line shop and arb.

Overall stuff is going pretty good. I thought I might be rusty after not playing much online for basically 3 months straight, but when I am in Vegas I am constantly around people i can sweat or talk to about hands and strats it feels like i'm actually getting better even though i'm not playing much. After WCOOP, I am probably going to start setting time aside to work hard on my PLO game. I've been putting it off for way too long, mainly because everyone is still pretty awful at HUNL, but the upside is just too big to put it off for much longer.

On a final note, my team epic team brocean hoodie came in today:

don't worry guys, we got our pool anyways
