If you are a poker player from the United States, DO NOT RELY ON POKER MONEY TO PAY BILLS THAT ARE DUE SOON. I know this has been said before, but I think a lot of people blow it off or don't worry about cash out issues. Given the current state of online poker in the US you need to be considering cash out issues as a real possibility.

If you are a recreational player, you should always have your bills covered by your main source of income.

If you are a professional player, you should have AT LEAST 6 MONTHS worth of living expenses saved up in the bank. There a couple of reasons for saving money. First, there is a ridiculous amount of variance in this game. You see guys post 100's of thousands of breakeven/slight winning poker as well as huge 40bi equity downswings. Second, the government has been trying to make it more difficult for the sites to process your withdrawals.

I'm so sick of reading sob stories about people who got hit with overdraft fees or couldn't afford their trips to Vegas because of cashout issues (the current ones or past issues).

If you save up money you will prevent a lot of potential headaches.

I lost a lot of money at 1/2. Lucky for me I killed it at 2/4 today. I lost about 12 bis to one guy at 1/2. When I got all in on 679 FD for 5 buyins with KK I knew I had to quit. I've been trying way to hard to win pots lately (or they've just had the nuts more often than they should?).

Came back in put another session in and played a lot better. Tomorrow is another day and the swong is not bugging me.

Don't have a log for Day 3, but I know I played 4hrs of poker.

Today I played one 3.5hr session from 2:15-5:45. From 5:45-10:15 (yes, over 4 hrs!) I sweated my roommate. It feels good to be productive for 8 hrs straight.

The antibiotics I'm taking for sinus infection are making me a bit loopy and I think they're the reason I was able to grind/sweat poker for 8 hrs nonstop. That is definitely abnormal. I would really like to be able to go the gym, but I'm not supposed to do anything even resembling strenuous activity b/c of the antibiotics.

Not sure how much I'm going to play the next couple days to end the month. I need 2 days of 50pts each day on Full Tilt Pokerz to make IronMan, so I will definitely be putting in at least one session every day.

12:00-1:00 Breakfast/Sweat roommate
1:00-3:00 Watched the Cubs
3:00-4:30 Doctor appointment---have some type of horrible sinus infection for the past 2 months and can't beat it down. Hoping these antibiotics will work! ONE TIME I WANT TO BREATHE NORMALLY
4:30-8:30 POKER------NOT ideal to play 4hrs straight, but gotta go with the flow sometimes
8:30-10:00 Food/Erands
10:00-11:15 Watched the end of Lakers/Nuggets
11:15-12:15 POKER

Another 5hr day, not shabby. Hopefully I start feeling good in a few days from these antibiotics and really get some motivation.

12-12:30 Breakfast/a little Poker After Dark
12:30-1:30 Gym/Shower
1:30-1:50 Bank
1:50-2:15 Food
2:15-3:45 POKER
3:45-4:30 PS3
4:30-6:15 POKER
6:15-7:15 Dinner+Family Guy
7:15-9:15 POKER
9:15-9:45 Sweat roommate
9:45-10:45 Magic vs Cavs

All in all, not too bad of a day. Made it to the gym and 5 hours of poker is decent. I usually play 6-7 days/week, so 5hrs is a very good pace especially for a Tuesday (games usually not as good Mon/Tues for obvious reasons).

The end of Magic vs Cavs game was entertaining.

Haven't been very productive in May. For that reason I'm going to blog a daily log of what I do every day for the rest of the month (which is only 6 days).

I made a couple BIs at 2/4 on Monday, felt really relaxed and happy with the way I played. Yesterday I managed to play 2 players for a total of about 5 minutes. They both took a stack and left. I sat the rest of the night for 5 hours straight and didn't get any more hands at 2/4. I wouldn't care about losing money at 2/4 if the person I lost it to didn't run every time. Tough to feel confident about 2/4 when I played 65 hands of 2/4 yesterday over 5 hours.

First time I broke the schedule. The weather was beautiful so I decided to go trout fishing. If not for the weather I would have been extremely tilted. Nothing went right. Hole in boot=wet foot, road blocked off where I wanted to go, other people in good spots on a small stream. Sigh w/e. I managed to catch one and he's going to be delicious.

Got home, ate food, got in the tables. Immediately I wasn't feeling it, but decided to tough it out. I broke even, but probably deserved to lose. I randomly clicked buttons as aejones loves to say. Only 2 hrs short of today's expectation, so that can easily be made up on Sunday. Tomorrow is a full day of work, so I need to put today behind me. Oh, another thing...internet tilted the **** out of me again. I was running a wired connection through a wireless router. Decided to disable the wireless, but that didn't help. Now I'm just skipping the router all together and plugging straight from computer to modem. I hope that solves the issue. If it doesn't I'm not going to be playing much poker the next 10 days.

GL at the tables. Bring on tomorrow.
