true blood, high stakes poker and las vegas nevada

Whattup fellas? I've been playing lots of high stakes poker with very mixed(very swingy) results. I'm definitely having fun/learning lots playing tough players. Here is a cool hand I played today:

Full Tilt, $100/$200 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BB: $60,393
Hero (BTN): $20,000

Pre-Flop: dealt to Hero (BTN)
Hero raises to $600, BB raises to $1,800, Hero raises to $3,800, BB calls $2,200

Flop: ($8,000) (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $4,000, BB calls $4,000

Turn: ($16,000) (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($16,000) (2 Players)
BB bets $12,000, Hero calls $12,000 and is All-In

Results: $40,000 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
BB showed and LOST (-$19,800 NET)
Hero showed and WON $39,999.50 (+$20,099.50 NET)

I recently started watching True Blood for no particular reason other than it seemed intriguing. So far it seems promising(3/4 way through s1) though a friend tells me if you don't like vampires it's hard to watch. I'm undecided about vampires, I don't particularly like them(though this is the first show I've seen that portrays them like this, who else thought vampires chill in coffins and wear capes?) but the main character is sexy and the plot seems solid.

I'm liking vegas so far(been here 2 full weeks woot woot!) and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my good friend Tony Dunst(bond18) in April as he'll be living with Dan and I for an undetermined amount of time. On the subject of the house, it's coming along quite well, though it didn't take much to improve it from how it was previous to my having left for my trip. That being said, it's still got a long way to go and I'm going shopping to begin buying things tomorrow. Since I still have so much to do I'll be sticking around vegas until WPT championship over at Bellagio instead of going for the euro-trip again(though it was fucking awesome last year) and maintaing a routine involving sleeping at night and going to the gym in the afternoon, a novel idea really.

I was on the 2p2 poker cast talking to Adam and Mike about durrrrs bluff against Ivey on high stakes poker, which I've been catching up on because my DVR is just set to record that and real time with Bill Mahr, though I didn't do either of these and I'm having difficulties getting it to record anything else. Honestly though, I'm just happy I have hot water in my house, I ain't trying to be greedy.

Chewy, are you able to tell us why you check the turn in that hand with so little money left?

Great post, cool hand. Very nice inducament. Also, True Blood has to be the most retarted show on tv. Go for the upcoming New Orlean's epic 'Treme' from the creators of The Wire. My god, I can't wait.
