Been taking poker serious lately so I thought I start a blog here on Leggo which is my first blog of any type eva BTW. Today I am providing a summary of my poker background and will log progress on my attempt to become good enough to make a living at this game.

I 've been playing poker for about 3-4 years mostly as a recreation player while working. I liked poker and thought I could make a living at it and eventually quit my job. I logged 200k + hands or so at nl100 and some nl200 when I ran good. I build 2 bankrolls from initial deposits to 10k and subsequently fired them off. The first time I played some 1000nl and 2000nl one bad night I lost 3/4 of my roll and quickly tilted off the remainder the following couple days. Ouch!!! Several months of building and then squander it off like a retarded monkey. At that point in time I never even heard of or used poker tracker, didn't care about bankroll management and didn't even have rakeback.

The second time I deposited into new ftp account 600 bucks and over a years time ran it up to 10k mostly playing 100nl and then some 200nl. I went on vacation and was very high on poker. Within 2 weeks of returning back playing nl200 I lost maybe half of my roll. I think I lost about 15 b/i's at 200nl in one night. Ouch. had to drop back down to nl100. I think at this point I was on perma tilt and over the course of the next year slowly bled my account dry. The games were progressively getting tougher and I just played after work not really learning just grinding while the players were getting better..

I am a professional in my work have an MBA and was making over 100k a year on my job so poker was always a hobby I never needed to make a withdraw or live off the monies or anything . I had an ego problem and a tilt problem at the table brought on my lack of preparation/study and frustration of not being able to beat the game multitabling. I was also more concerned about full tilt points and rack back vs. what is really important which is "learning and getting better at the game".

Fast forward to more recent times. I had a few hundered bucks in my old UB account that sat there for years. I started to play again there. Similar results except now I dropped down to nl50 and busted it out too!! OMG I suck!. After a month or so went by found that I had 37 dollars left in my rake back account so I transferred it back to UB and started playing NL10.

At this point I was studying poker relentlessly all materials I can "Thank you internet and Leggo for that". I started all the way down at nl10 Playing mostly 3 or 4 tables only (1 or 2 initially) and then nl25 until I had enough in my rakeback account to make a $500 transfer to Full tilt. During this time I sent a random PM to SAUCE123 in response to one of his blogs and he very nicely responded back to me saying "it is very important to enjoy the process of learning the game" and that simple quote is something I have in the back of my mind and think about everyday in my quest to get better.

Today I have 600 in my UB account and 1500 in FTP account all built on the remaining 37 dollar rakeback left in my account after going busto .

If I could rewind I would have learned the game better instead of just grinding away I've played literally thousands of hours and don't have much to show for it except now I'm a half decent player with some potential maybe.

Can the old wounded poker dog rebound and make it up the stakes....

we will see
