I finished finals this morning and it is quite a relief to be done for a while. I think I probably did pretty well this semester, possibly my best to date despite having by far the hardest schedule. Now that this crap is over I need to rededicate myself to poker. It has been nearly three weeks since I got out of the grinding routine and now I have absolutely no reason not to get in a good number of hands. I was on a bit of a downswing before this hiatus, so I need to put in quite a bit of work to build up enough to move up to 200nl and cash out a bit for expenses. That means my next update could even include real poker content. I played only on two occasions recently, one was a small session online booking a small loss and the other was a live 1k where I managed to waste my entire day to bust 25th w/ 20 paying because everyone flops the nizzles against me apparently. Here's to getting in 25k+ hands by the end of the month!

So I have barely played at all in the last 10-12 days. It is really pretty pitiful. I have finals next week, so I told myself that I would not play until I studied or accomplished something school related. Obviously I was too lazy to do any of that, so no poker for me lately. Now I really need to buckle down for the next two weeks so I don't ruin a pretty decent semester. My only break will be Saturday, when I will play a ridiculously soft live 1k. It is seriously disgusting how bad the field will be. If I could play this tournament every day I definitely would and never have to work a day in my life or worry about money, but oh well I'll take it when I can get it. After school is done I plan on getting into uber grind mode online and hopefully I will log a solid 30k hands in the last two weeks of the month. Til then I will suffer though...

I was managing to put in a pretty good volume for the first half of the month despite being very busy outside of poker. however, I have since started a nice little downswing and have lost all motivation to play. Every time I try its just the same thing, getting coolered/outdrawn a fair bit but much more noticeably never coolering anyone, ever. It seems like I'm about 0/50 on combo draws lately too, just nothing works. After dropping about 15 buy ins in pretty soft games I think i am just going to drop down to 50nl and grind there until I have some confidence back. I don't really want to be stressed out right now and I don't know what else to do. I was planning on moving up to 200nl within a month, but now I find myself moving down. Its amazing how quickly things can change.

After playing relatively seriously live for 1-2 years, I decided that it was time to finally get serious about online poker. I had some decent success in live cash and even one pretty decent score in a live mtt, but it was obvious that live poker was hard to sustain and endure; its basically agony to play unless you are making a ton. So finally, about 90 days ago i started grinding at 50nl 6 max on full tilt with the hopes of proving (at least to myself) that I could beat at least ssnl and have a chance to go higher. At this point I know that I can beat the games I play at a decent rate, so the next step will be moving up and possibly increasing my mt ratio.
The first 56k hands are at 50nl, followed by about 7k at .5/1 cap which was kind of a waste of time. The rest is 100nl.
Leggopoker works imo

So its been very hard to find time for poker or anything at all really. Been spending every minute doing labs and studying and wasting away in the purgatory of petroleum engineering. There is some hope for improvement in a few days, so hopefully i will be able to finddagrind again soon. I haven't exactly been tearing it up this month, but its still going pretty well. If I ever make it to mid May I will be grinding heavily, hoping to put in 60-80k hands/month and move up. I guess FTOPS is coming up, but I really hope that I just avoid it altogether, but I'm sure I will end up playing a couple events and light some money (and time) on fire. I think I am up about 3000 this month online, all at 100nl, and down slightly live in a couple sessions. I will be satisfied if I get to 4k but I feel like i either won't make it or I will crush that and get way over. The games are getting very aggro preflop, too aggro i think actually. Or at least too aggro for the people playing. There are tons of regs playing 22/18 or something similar that looks good, but at least half are just terrible postflop and make tons of illogical decisions. They probably wonder why they only win 1-2 bb/100...or maybe they don't even think about that kind of stuff who knows. I definitely have some pretty substantial leaks now but I feel like Im getting better all the time. I am also pretty sure that sometimes these leaks are caused by multitabling too much. I have only 9 tabled for a few weeks. Most of the time it seems fine but every now and then I get overwhelmed w/ 9/10 tables and I feel like I start playing extremely uncreative postflop and lose a lot of value that way. I just don't think it is enough to justify reducing the number of tables i play though. Here is today, where I am running pretty good. Love weekends!
Til next time

Well I was able to get in a lot of hands at the start of this month, but as expected that has kind of dissipated with exams creeping up on me. Since finishing my extreme heater I have returned to a more normal pattern but have maintained a decent WR. Yesterday I managed to play 3k+ hands, which might be the most I have ever played in one day (I know that is weak **** for 9 tabling). It will be hard to play at all next week so hopefully I get something going in the next couple of days. Here is the month so far:
gl, and maybe I will have some more substantive updates in the future.

After pulling out so many wins in a row I knew it had to happen soon, but this was ridiculous. I won a few buy ins this morning but tonight I just had no chance. Ran so terribad in every spot it was just sick. Can't even stand to write much about it but here are some awesome hands.

So I appear to be continuing my rungood in April after finishing on a nice heater last month at 100nl. I haven't played very much so far but it I am up a decent amount already so I am pretty pleased with the way things are going. The shot taking thing is a bit misleading. My low volume is mostly because I spent the last couple nights absolutely drunk and I tend to avoid the tables in that state. My plan right now is to stay at 100nl through the rest of the semester and try to move up to 200nl in late May. I should be pretty overrolled by then so hopefully everything goes as planned. After playing a total of one mtt last month (and luckboxing it). I decided to play a few today because of the SCOOP on stars. No luck there but I managed to final table the ****tiest tournament in the world on FTP, a $26 buy in w/ 224 players. Finished it out in 3rd place for $650 which is kinda meh but not bad. Here is how the cash games have treated me so far:

There is nothing better than getting on to play your first session of the new month, with such high hopes, and immediately get stuck 3.5 buy ins by fortuitiously getting KK vs AA aipf as well as finding a host of other bad spots. Luckily, I got it going later on and finished up around 100 thanks to profiting 500 on one table due mostly to one LAGfish on my right. Here is the biggest pot I won off of him that sent me back above even.

Finally decided to start writing stuff down. I hope it will be nice to look back on the year and see where I was at when and how I got there. March was basically the second month of true grinding in my life (besides live which is so meh). Hoped to win 3k and surpassed that easily thanks to lol donkaments. I managed to win the only tournament I played this month, the Iron Man Silver free tournament on FTP for $2250. Overall I am disappointed in how cash games went for the month, but the last week has certainly helped a lot to fix that! Heres my cash graph for March, it starts at 50nl and switches to .5/1 cap nl at the huge downswing before going to 100nl 6 max for the last 8k where I pretty much ran like god.
Overall Results
Online Cash: +$2300
Online Donkament: +$2250
Live Cash: +$750
Total: $5300
Can't be disappointed with the bottom line though. It will be tough to match it this month but I think its doable.
