I am back from Vegas and all coaching will resume starting with the group sweat for one on one students Sunday 2 PM my time.

I talked with Verneer before I left and he said something like...

Quote:
Choose a 9 max table at random without looking at the average VIPIP. Also email FTP and have them increase the rake and slow down the software so you only get 30 hands an hour.
Needless to say he was correct. Why did I do that to myself?

I got to meet Zaitsev and a couple of his students which was cool. Everyone was very nice and we got a long well.

I am going to a haunted house and movie with the Girl tonight. Going to keep it low key since neither one of us are feeling that great.

I think I am running better. I don't know if it's translating into $$ or not, but it feels good. I do know I am playing better than ever, even without looking at results.

Here are the stats for the last three days. I have tightened up quite a bit, a little to much maybe.

I removed all money stats from HEM today and will not be looking at my cashier balance either. You may be thinking "how do you not look at your cashier?". I treat it like a magic eye picture and don't focus on it, that's how. I am doing this to support a friend that is having trouble doing it on his own. It will be good for both of us.

We played a live session where we got about 400 hands in. A very informative two hours. We ended up losing 2bi but I learned so much. Anyone wants the best coach they can get and $700 an hour does not turn you off, get Greg.

Major concepts we talked about.

* C bet sizing on the flop and TURN for maximum effectiveness.

* River bet sizing for bluffs and value.

* UTG range issues

* CO BTN range issues (some due to robotic play)

* 4 bet advice

* Looked a a line or two I have not been using enough... They involve folding.

* Think more about my range in the eyes of villain.

* Include info from all streets on my decisions.

* Some others that I wont mention right now .

Turns out they run much faster if you make them an exception program in your firewall. I assume everybody but me knows this though. I am just so happy. FTP is fast now. This is so great. OMG.

EDIT: I am 200% better at poker today than I was two days ago. Things are clicking. This is great.

EDIT II: In Vista with windows firewall this is how I did it. Very easy.

*open windows firewall

*click change settings

*click the "exceptions" tab

*click "add program"

*add w/e program you want (FTP stars)

*click ok.

I have been pretty busy coaching and doing Leggo related stuff the last few days.

It was nice to have a little bit of a break today having winded down my coaching week (mon-wed). I really enjoy coaching, it is hard to talk for 4+ hours a day though.

Who did I talk to about X and Y? Have we discussed this before? Who has paid me and who has not? I am fairly organized with my coaching but this week was a wake up call that I need to redouble efforts to make everything run smoother.

I am very proud of my students progress. Some people seek out coaching looking for an easy fix. Not wanting to put in effort and wanting to buy their way to a better win rate. This is not the case with my students, which is great. (Not taking students at the moment.)

The Leggo related stuff has gone much smoother with equally impressive results. Nothing to exciting here, just a lot of general work that needed to be taken care of. It feels nice to have everything done for the next week.

Tonight I played some pretty kick ass poker. It felt great to book a win and feel in control at all times. not in control of the table or anything, just knowing what to do, or making really good marginal choices. I have three hands I want to talk to Greg about where FPS might have crept in a little. Overall just a great day.

Time to kick back for a day or two and get some hands in.
