That's the only way to describe last night, Jeff is making one epic TR and I'm to wasted to type much so I'll update again tomorrow.

Still need golf tips for the propbet (see last blogpost for more info)

edit: Did lose some stupid bets against crispy, luckily also won some and won the CCR for the bill but that damn crispy is going to get owned soon!

Propbetting

Posted 01-08-2010 at 12:29 AM by Robin_Ripper
Updated 01-08-2010 at 12:37 AM by Robin_Ripper
Sofar a decent amount of propbetting has been going on.
Doing fairly well on them sofar, won some stupid bets like: on which side of the street is the walmart and how much will the groceries be (where I set the line at 925 peso's and it was 966 but Jnuey had the under)

Looks like when we're in vegas Jeff will be doing the $50 taco bet (but still working out details).
I think the marathon bet will also happen but I will need to be able to win $10K or more but this will not happen anytime soon and perhaps odds will be lowered if some training is allowed.

However we will have a pretty cool propbet this sunday.
We plan to go golfing but I have never been on a golfcourse before in my life and also never on a driving range and will play vs Crispy but he will be playing lefty.

I have no idea if I'm getting hussled there but it seems to me like he should no way win vs me even though I've never done it before. I'm not allowed to go to a driving range before hand but am allowed to research stuff about golfing.

So if you have any tips please help! Got a decent amount of money on this!

While typing this blog I lost another stupid propbet about who was going to walk through the door first.

I'll post more later but we're leaving for a club now because we have bottle service!

Robin out.

2010 Results! + good-bye iPhone.. hello Verizon!

Posted 01-08-2010 at 12:17 AM by Hidden
So 2010 has been going really well for me.. in life and poker (mostly life).. I haven't had that much time to play because of school starting and everything so as embarrassing it is to say I have had only 2 sessions for 2010. Unlike most people though I only play short sessions and idk if that's +EV but so far I really like it.. You don't get robotic and you bleed money 1000x less..

I think I cbet too much in 3bet pots.. Basically burning money on obvious boards that hit villains range..

I don't understand how people juggle school, poker and a social life.. It's been only 1 week of school and I've been having a hard time finding time to play.. Maybe I just suck at managing time.. but oh well hopefully I can keep getting in sessions and winning when I do play..

As for the iPhone subject.. I've had the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS and man as of late I was so pissed off with the amount of dropped calls I was getting and yesterday I basically tilt canceled my AT&T plan and went back to Verizon. I can't recall a time where I've dropped a call with Verizon.. They have always been so good to me except they've always had the shittiest line of phones until lately.. They just dropped the Droid which I hear good things about.. and then they're getting the Google One Nexus! Hopefully it comes to Verizon soon and I can get rid of this old Verizon phone that I'm temporarily using..

Google Nexus One

Let me know if any of you guys got this phone and how it works..

late.

Switched over 2 PStars- Whats up wit Step Tourneys

Posted 01-07-2010 at 10:46 PM by MaxwellFinley
My goal this year is to win my way into a Main Event. I switched over to Poker Stars in light of my most recent blog. With PS offering the NAPT, and one of the events being in Connecticut, i thought I would switch over and see if I can win my way in thru the computer instead of trekking to Mohegan and satellite in.

Does anyone have any experience with STEP tourneys? It seems like an inexpensive way to get in. With the majority of my play being SH SnG's it totally fits my game. Just curious to see if people have any good strategies as opposed to going in their guns a'blazin?

Where the step tourney players at?

26bi downswing

Posted 01-07-2010 at 09:17 PM by ultrasPNT
This is how I feel right now, you can see the dark blue that matches the hate from my eyes.

I have a 26 bi downswing at nl100, 2600$, I was playing my A game for most of this downswing but it didn't help. I tried everything, I tried shorter sessions, I tried a 3 bi stop loss, I tried to play a low variance game, but nothing works. I'm so mad with the rng, rng that helps retarded monkey(both fish and regulars) to suckout on me or to hit their trash in big pots. And yes, it finally got to me I spewed in this last part so I have to stop for a while to clear my head, I need to hit something, to break something, this is so unfair... so frustrating... doing your job and not only you don't get payed you get fined.
This is the 3rd major downswing that I have at nl100 and it's the biggest one, ironically when I have my game more solid than ever; when I took a break from my first one I broke my leg playing football so that was even more ironic... somebody up there must really enjoy seeing me struggling...
Short term plan:
1. take a break for a couple of days.
2.move to another poker room, this one is obviously rigged
3. kill the downswing
4. grinding at least 2k hands/day when I return
5. helping people that play micros or small stakes on the forums. (I don't post on micros anymore since I've stopped playing and moved up but I have over 500k hands at 50nl and 25nl and if you need my help with hands there just ask or send me the link to the topic I'll be glad to answer)

Until I return I don't wanna hear about poker so I guess downswing= quality time.
Good luck at the tables,
ultrasPNT.

Rockin' the Fedora

After sleeping about 10 hours after the trip here woke up and everyone was up already but me, Kirk, Jaymes and Crispy went to get some breakfast. After strolling down the boardwalk we found a small restaurant and had some eggs to get the day started.

After getting back to the house all 7 of us went to some beach where we basically just sat at the bar relaxing in the sun drinking beers and strawberry daiquiri's and just relaxing. There was an amazing guy who was dancing like crazy...

Jeff made an easy 400 pesos swimming in the ocean for a propbet and it seemed like the alcohol made crispy pretty confident because he said he would scale the mountain in front of us within 30 mins..
And obviously there was no fucking chance in hell he would ever be able to do that...
So we bet 2000 vs 4000 peso's he would not make it.. it was fun watching him try but he had no chance.. and I should've bet more but whatever... just him suffering was good
First propbet money was in! (lost two small bets before vs Jeff about stupid stuff)
Didn't have my camera with me but pics where taken so I'll put pics of the mountain up later.

On the way back we stopped to get some more drinks and food for the house and got this crazy vodka'bottle'

In the car back to the house I also got decent odds for running a marathon so it looks like I'll actually be attempting that later... so I'll let other people in on that as well because I know lots of people will want to bet against me there!

After taking showers we went out to dinner:

All drinks where 2 for 1 all night wherever we went so that was a good thing! Some of Jeff's friends arrived at the end of dinner to go to the club with us. One of them only spoke Spanish which was kindof hard but Mr Rosetta (toocrispy) was on fire...

We got to the club and got these bloody mary cocktails that where really awful but everything is so cheap here that we just got other drinks and dumped these... like things are cheap here already but now everything was also 2 for 1..

After chillin downstairs in the club and Jaymes doing a sick fire-shot (pictures all failed) Jeff got us a table upstairs and by this time everyone was buzzed or worse...
I won't really go into details what happened up there but it was awesome... and Jaymes was the fucking man.. he and Mr Rosetta killed it...

Then out of the middle of nowhere they started spreading 100's of balloons which you can turn into dogs and shit all over the place:

It was getting pretty late and everyone except for me and Jaymes had to get up at 6 in the morning so some guys where heading back to the house and unfortunately 30 mins later the ones that stayed picked a bad time to leave for me but didn't want to stay there by myself so we got some girls to give us a ride home and when we got there the guys who went home earlier (like 30 mins earlier) where in the house with more girls, even though those idiots had to get up in like 2 hours...

More epic stuff happened but I promised to skip some of that...

So now it's like 5:30 in the morning and Crispy wants to play BattleShip HU, so I obligde ofcourse.
Jaymes was sweating me and Jnuey was sweating Crispy.
He got his soul owned obviously! Even his slowroll backfired.. he did pull of about 4 or 5 trifecta's on me... but even that couldn't save him from getting owned...

More to come!

Poker Stars coming to CT

Posted 01-07-2010 at 02:23 PM by MaxwellFinley
Just heard about Poker Stars' NAPT, and one of the stops will be in my home state of Connecticut. Now instead of just trying to satellite into the WPT stops in Foxwoods, I can add this $5K event into the mix as well. Mohegan Sun has a very nice poker room (reminds me of the Bellagio in Vegas with it's high ceilings), and there convention center is nice as well (where the tourney will most likely be). You can even use points on your players card towards buy ins. I think they'll put together a nice event.

I only play on Full Tilt, but am considered trying out Poker Stars. To any of you that play on that site, will they have satellites to this event on there? If so, I may stay my ass at home and win my way in from the computer instead of driving out to the boonies of CT. Hope to see some of you out there.

I'm so lost...

It's depressing that after 4 years I still don't beat NL50. I seriously feel like I am genuinely stupid. Before I started playing poker I was a pretty smart guy and people around me actually thought I was intelligent.

It has come to a point where I'm either all-in or all-out. This mean that if I'm not getting a coach who can improve my game I will instead quit. Sometimes you have to accept reality...

Here is this years graph so far, still **** in both non-showdown and showdown. At least I had a good blue line when I was a nit back in the days.

Reading all book, post hands on forums, watching tons of videos and having 1 coach simply is not enough
