Sitting at work at early in the morning about to get off as usual. Have a fun weekend planned and this week is going by soooooo slow.
I've made a plan. It consists of leaving Idaho directly before Thanksgiving, Spending the holidays in Oregon with family, and heading to Mexico around New Years. Possibly going to Thailand in march if things go well.
Can't wait for this job to be over so I can become somewhat normal again. 16 months of working the night shift has definitely taken it's toll. It's been great for poker and an unbelievably easy way to make a supplemental income, but I'm ready to have a life again.
I won't say I regret moving to Idaho. In the back of my head when I moved up here with a $700 roll I new a big reason I was up here was to play poker. Needless to say that has mostly worked out, 16 months of doing not a whole lot besides poker(and xbox) has worked out I think.
Anyway the suspense of turning pro is kinda getting at me, I have a feeling when I first quit my job I'll probably remedy that by either playing a ton or very little. Only time will tell I guess.
Cheers to sleeping during the night, doing stuff, and making a shit ton of money not working alot(or alot ).

Yesterday the cleaningladies came and cleaned everything again... They even changed the litterbox of the cat!
The major advantage of the cleaners I have now opposed to the woman I had before is that these do not speak only polish and I can actually communicate with them and they look alot better.
In other news, after the tiltday I took a couple days break and am playing again and it's going a little better again.
Also: eztv is back online, it was ofline for like 5 days which was really really annoying. Although today there are no new eps of HIMYM, 2.5 men, Big Bang Theory, so only downloading Heroes at the moment.
I'm also watching Stargate Universe

But haven't decided what I think of it yet... For now I think there is to much drama and bs involved and not enough science fiction so hopefully that will change and I'll be happy with the show!
Going to get some breakfast and have another driving lessons. (I have to take my driving exam on December the 21st, so if you live near Leiden don't jump in front of my car on that day, other days is fine).
Edit: I'm watching Curb your Enthusiasm from season 1 through 7 since I've never seen it and got to episode 5 of season 5 and there was a scene that reminded me of Vegas:
We were in that exact same situation with no car through the drivethrough and they also refused to give us food

For the past few weeks, I've been following the Yankees all over the country.
Saturday night was by far the most miserable night of my life. I showed up at the new Stadium around 6pm because the game wasn't cancelled yet and spent well over 3 hours in freezing rain before they finally made the announcement G6 (possible AL clincher) was postponed.
Miserable, hungry, wet, and dejected I drove home to greet my girlfriend, who's still pissed I went to the Yankees game on the 22nd instead of celebrating her birthday.
All that grief was worth it as I screamed my lungs out when Mo closed out G6 with a 6 out save.
and down with the Phillies.
On a different note, recently I've been thinking about spending some time in Taiwan to catch up with some of my (very) estranged family members and brushing up on my Chinese a bit.
The only thing holding me back is I am still eligible for the draft in Taiwan so until I am SURE they won't arrest me and force me to serve in the military, I'm getting nowhere near that island.

Poker has been really brutal lately. Played about 1k hands of 1kNL this month and got crushed for 9 BI. I ran super bad, EV was down about 2 BI and I ran into a lot of PF all in situations where I was dominated.
It was interesting playing 1kNL. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was a little more nervous making the jump to 1kNL than I was to 600NL. This probably due to the fact that I know a few online poker players who are much better than me but don't play higher than 3/6 for reasons unknown to me.
I had a lot of regulars sit with me and ask for a 1k flip which was new to me. I also thought I ran into at least two people I suspected of multi-accounting. I'm not sure how many 16BB losers open from the button 100%, Call PFR less than 20%, and 3bet 20%. I generally don't think 16BB losers are positionally aware, plus I rarely saw anything I would consider spew. Also losing a $3400 all in pot on the turn with 75% equity and a 2k all in pot on the flop with 80% equity were NOT fun. Sigh.
So I'll move back down for a bit and continue to take shots, success will ensue. Despite being on quite the downswing I'm more confident than ever in my game. After getting crushed by Caby I did a lot of studying on 3betting/4betting and I think that's really helped my game. Also playing Taylor allowed me to eliminate some faulty logic in my thought process.
In a lot of spots rather than using my OWN experience to analyze a hand in progress my mind would always jump to a quote from a video or a post on twoplustwo.com where I could use someone else's logic to make my decision. I hate folding, so my mind is always looking for a way to justify a call. Now I see the tables much differently. I try to determine if the villain is vbetting or bluffing, assign ranges, calculate pot odds, and determine if it's a call/fold/raise. It sounds REALLY simple and I was doing this before, however when the answer was fold I would level myself into a call. To be honest I wonder how I've been successful until this point.
P.S. Caby never PM'd me back. Way to follow through and rep your company brotha. Customer service ftw.

Sigh, so tilt. This weekend I went to San Fran to catch the eagles game vs the raiders and to go to a music festival (GT and MGMT were headlining).
The concert was first on Saturday. It was a bit cold so I went out shopping before hand and found an Adidas original apparel store. It was the grand opening so my total purchase was 30% off so I kind of went to town.
Some random purchases:
The concert was pretty cool, it was hosted on treasure island which some sort of navy base, and was made almost exclusively accessible by shuttle (and I'd estimate there was around 25k people there, so obv took hour to get there and christ only knows how long to leave, me and my buddy hopped infinite fences to cut to the front of the line). Towards the end I decided to get this sick MGMT T shirt, it was a gorilla or monkey head with an afro that read MGMT and was in neon rainbow colors. It was really sick and I missed out so.. lesson learned, buy shit you want at a concert early and just deal with hanging on to it.
I actually got to finally shake Greg Gillis's hand and chat hit up for a bit, there are pics but they aren't online yet. Sad to say his set wasn't as good as it was last year. I'm not necessarily saying he's peaked but I thought he made some bad decisions for this particular show. That said he did two or three samples that blew me away and that I hope are in his next album which I suppose is due out next summer. Here's prb my favorite:

Fwiw I only know the international players anthem sample from this, if anyone else knows what those songs are or has a longer clip of it, hook me up.
ahhhhhh I liked this one too

I could have done with way more beach balls as well. Treasure island was however cool enough to put on a fireworks display at the end which pretty much blew my mind.
Sunday
We are a bit late to the game, arrive just after kickoff. Oakland fans are legit, unfortunately not enough of them have $$ for tickets so the stadium didn't sell out, or sell 90% something like that. If that doesn't happen the NFL blocks out the game in a 75 mile radius around the stadium, so massive bummer for Raider fans. We were 2nd row behind Eagles bench and they were like $160 so, you can get the idea.
The game was so oooooooo tilting. Donovan played so bad and idk what planet Mornhinweg was on. I think Oakland has the 2nd worst run defense in the NFL, and we have Brian Westbrook and Mike Vick and evvvvvvery godamn series we would go to the air three times and then punt. That isn't that big of a deal but no one had any rhythm and Oakland wasn't really respecting the run and we weren't even play faking.. uasdhqsuh12. I just remember sometime in the 2nd quater Donovan calling a time out when we didn't have any and then going on can't see tilt for about 20 min.
Anyway we lose to Oakland, then this week I think they lose to the Jets 38-0 or something, godamnit.,............1231231254jitewrgj4y.
Also I did a bit of watch shopping. I opted for this:

Also I'm fairly certain this is the infamous "jakey"
ugh what else... i got really drunk, irish carbombs are sweet.
I went to Boulevard in SF, really really nice restaurant, got introduced to a dark and stormy, which is ginger beer and dark rum over ice. I had bacon wrapped quail in a mushroom bisque and poached lobster over a truffle risotto. nomnomnomnomnom
Last thing is enter the wutang, their first album, is one of the greatest albums of alltime. Sorry beyonce and taylor, you aint shit.

I got my first live cash about 6 hours ago, bubbling the TV final table of a WPT event at the Bellagio. I am not upset in the least bit that I got 7th despite the skill edge. I was not even an average stack the entire tournament (until I was exactly average when the final table started, ironically, but I didn't win a hand for a while after that). I kept hovering around resteal stack, was unable to open light at all or get into any real postflop spots. If I was to write a trip report, it'd go like this:
First day: Shouldn't have played probably, feeling a little under the weather. Get cold so I go buy a Bellagio sweatshirt which I wear the rest of the week. I lose a bunch of pots by calling down with two pair and other stupid shit in spots where they are clearly bluff catchers and my opponent is clearly not bluffing. I'm stubborn though and pretty happy with going out a few levels into day one until I win a coin flip, cooler someone, runner-runner flush someone else, and then decide that ending the day with >starting stack is a blessing from on high.
Second day: I'm starting to realize I am legitimately sick. It's annoying. I fold jacks twice preflop after it gets opened and then 3-bet by an old guy. I'm annoyed by this. I truck up and down and end the day with a respectable number.
Third day: A few hands into the day I 3-bet a guy and he looks at me and asks me "What's your online name? aejones?" and I am just stunned that people want to have this kind of table talk. If he knows my online name, and I have no idea who he is, shouldn't he kept that information edge to himself? It is clear that most people aren't thinking that hard and frequently want to prove their knowledge and talk, out loud, about who I am or what I've done. I try to keep to myself. I fold jacks preflop again-- I open for 20k UTG at 4k-8k (500 ante) and UTG+2 jams for 300k (I have the same amount). I am confused, but just fold anyways. I have never folded jacks so many times preflop. I do not like it. I end the day on life support.
Fourth day: I am planning on bubbling the money and getting 28th. I try to just about do that when I get it in with QTs with about 30 people left against Andy Bloch's KK. It doesn't work though because I make two pair. So that's how you crush tournaments. That's what I've been saying all along. I drank 4 hot chocolates on this day with a cube of ice in them (just helps you to be able to drink it right away because its so fken hot). Shout out to Vivek for introducing this to me.
Fifth day: I go in on life support again. I play a hand real bad and I've got like 10 big blinds or something. I get it in with black sixes in an amazing squeeze spot-- unfortunately I just don't have enough to make anyone fold and I get it in 3 ways for 400k a pop. It comes KQx with two spades, the side pot checks. The turn is the T of spades, the side pot goes check-bet-fold. Now I only have one guy to beat, and he's got QT-- well hell, I got a spade and there's three more on the board. I river the ace of spades and flush 'em out. The guy who got bet out of the side pot is tilted because he had the 9 of spades. Sick life I lead.
We get to the final table and I'm playing insanely tight, because I just have no other option with 20 big blinds. There are steal spots I simply don't resist, but otherwise I am a folding machine. I have a pretty swingy final table experience, making a big fold to Freddy Deeb, losing a big pot where I get it all in as a big favorite, then winning a big flip, then winning some without showdown, etc. In the end I open jam the king of clubs from the cut off and the SB wakes up with jacks and holds. I cash for a hundred and change, which I feel compensates my hours of boredom and folding and is a good first cash. I'm finally starting to understand what people's stackoff ranges are in these tournaments. Honestly, it's almost like it's not even poker, it's just an entirely different skill set. I think I had possibly a dozen interesting decisions the entire tournament, and most of them were bet sizing issues.
To be honest, I was just sick as hell the entire tournament. I felt like I was free rolling the thing, so I was just trying to have a good time since I got my headphones stolen earlier in the week. By being forced to talk to people I remembered why I hate talking to people, but I also learned that sometimes you meet some pretty interesting people who are interesting for reasons other than being good at poker and those people find poker pretty interesting, and that in and of itself is pretty interesting.
Hey, 7th ain't so bad; at least we're all not in prison, right?

Moon 4x from the small blind to around 360k, hes shown to be a pretty solid player. He has AQ antonio asks why so much then calls with kj. I guess thats ok.
here is where i dont really get it. Moon chqs q33 rainbow antonio bets, moon chq raises. antonio then THREE (3) bets to 4 million moon goes all in and antonio folds. on that flop what can antonio represent; Aq, A3, kk and aa.
AA and KK is out after he flats pre. leaving Aq which moon has and i guess hes willing to go broke if esfandiari has a 3. Imo horrible play by esfandari what hands cheq raises on that flop that can fold to a 4 bet. imo the answer is only a bluff and moon dont bluff.
he shld know that moon wasnt chq raise bluffing infact if he had qj 10q he wld smooth call. anyway thats my 2 cents.
