I've never written a blog before, despite the badass hands that I usually play. Nothing too exciting to start off, pretty uneventful start to November. I played a little 25-50 the other day, won about a buy in off some donk heads up.

These two hands got on my nerves the most:

------------------
HAND #1
------------------

Full Tilt Poker, $25/$50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter

BB: $10,895.75
Hero (SB): $9,619.25

Pre-Flop: A 2 dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to $150, BB calls $100

Flop: ($300) J 6 2 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $250, BB calls $250

Turn: ($800) A (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $500, BB calls $500

River: ($1,800) 5 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Results: $1,800 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
BB showed 4 4 (a flush, Ace high) and WON $1,799.50 (+$899.50 NET)
Hero showed A 2 (two pair, Aces and Twos) and LOST (-$900 NET)

------------------
HAND #2
------------------

Full Tilt Poker, $25/$50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LeggoPoker Hand History Converter

BB: $7,746.75
Hero (SB): $12,769.25

Pre-Flop: 7 8 dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to $150, BB calls $100

Flop: ($300) K 5 2 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $250, BB calls $250

Turn: ($800) Q (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($800) T (2 Players)
BB bets $800, Hero raises to $2,600, BB calls $1,800

Results: $6,000 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
BB showed K T (two pair, Kings and Tens) and WON $5,999.50 (+$2,999.50 NET)
Hero showed 7 8 (King Queen high) and LOST (-$3,000 NET)

I think I misjudged the second one. He was unable to value bet thin, so I shouldn't expect him to show up with anything other than a strong king, two pair, or air here. I wish I could have beat air, I would've called. Since I couldn't, I had to raise. I'm not sure if there is a difference in fold equity if he's got KJ or K9 on the end if I make it 2100, 2350, or 2600. In hindsight, I like a smaller raise better since he's got air so often and he never folds two pair.

I'm still not sure what I think about it- I guess I should just go with "he's a station, don't bluff him," more often.

On the slate for November, I've won somewhere between 10-15k in very few hands, a pretty uneventful month. Looks like I got one of my heads up challenges accepted with a tournament player named Apestyles. I know little to nothing about his game, but if he could beat 3-6 cash games, he'd be retarded to grind the amount of MTTs he plays. In other words, I expect him to make a lot of mistakes that are common with tournament players, and although I hold no real grudge against him, this is a great chance to show the edge a cash game player has over a tournament player. I've agreed to pay him 7.5 cents a hand to play me. I'm not sure what my edge is over him, but I've got to imagine it's more than 7.5 cents a hand.

It'll be interesting to see who puts what kind of side bets on it.

I've been watching a lot of movies lately to keep me from playing poker. Basically, when I get stuck and play too much in poker I play poorly, so I'm trying to keep myself from overloading on poker this month. I've watched some pretty good movies lately, some for the first time and others for the second time. I'll likely be writing randomly about stuff that I recommend in my blog.

If you have any other ideas of stuff you'd like me to write about in here, feel free to send me a PM on here or an email. I very likely will not write about strategy, but I will write other general poker thoughts, life thoughts, whatever you feel like suggesting is more than welcome. Right now I'm pretty excited about the launch of this site, because I think we've got a team of poker players who are beating NLHE right now, in the present, which is a very good selling point.

That's all I can think of now, I've got a busy weekend with a friend from high school coming in, so I'll probably hang with him and watch football all weekend. I look forward to posting most of the ridiculous hands that I play here, so you all should be in for a treat.

Excited to be here on LeggoPoker!

Hey guys. For those of you who don't know me I am a longtime Party Poker MSNL grinder, known around various forums as SEABEAST, and on Party as EMO_BOYFRIEND. I play 2/4-10/20, usually playing 9-12 tables, and I have had a lot of success over the past 2 years. There's a pretty decent chance that I have been the biggest 2/4 winner on Party during that time.

About a month ago I was asked if I wanted to write a blog for LeggoPoker, which was planning to expand into a more comprehensive site. I thought about it, and decided that this sounded like something I would enjoy, so I said yes.

Well, I'm pretty damn glad I said yes because not long afterwards they asked if I wanted to also be a featured pro on the site, making videos and coaching people too. Greg and Chris gave the other coaches and I a very impressive presentation, and I was blown away by their vision.

So fast forward a month and here we are, launching already! It has been a learning curve practicing making videos - it's tougher than it looks, but I'm really looking forward to making the most of this opportunity and I hope some of you will enjoy my vids and this blog.

I plan to write fairly often and post a bunch of crazy graphs and insomnia fuelled philosophical tangents to amuse you guys. So yeah, this is very exciting and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the other guys on the site come up with too.

Hello and welcome to LeggoPoker! I am Greg Brooks, the Co-owner of Leggo. I'm really excited for everything that we present on the site. I really don't put my reputation behind anything that I do not believe will hold a respectful seal, brand name, and great service. I believe LeggoPoker will live up to all of those standards, which is why we have brought 7 other great pros that know the game forwards and backwards, and the highlights of their careers are their accomplishments right now.

Stay tuned for more expansion and interaction with what will surely become a recognizable brand in the poker community.

Until next time,
Greg
