Since there was so much discussion on the entire topic already there was something that came up that was not part of the options and I've heard many many different things on this already.

I feel like that some people are not allowed to even use the toilet but ok:

So some more things came up

Do you put toiletpaper in the toilet before using it?

I never do this, I don't like wasting toiletpaper like this when it never splashes for me... I don't know what kindof propulsion power some people have though....

How should you hang the toilet paper roll?

Lots of people feel that it should be like this:

However I really really have no preference and feel like people who care about this are toiletnits...
But still I guess I should put it up here anyway.

Do you re-use the same paper for a second wipe?

This will definately be the most discussed out this batch. Because again I think it's where people are almost 50/50 on it.

What do you do while taking a dump
I enjoy reading magazines on the toilet, which usually extents my toiletstay. Recently I've been playing lots of games on my iphone... but when I have nothing I feel like it's almost not worth going to the toilet....

Robin out.

ps: This will be the last toilet-related update for a while...

This blog may contain some inappropriate toilet information. Be warned.

I think that as a house we've decided that I'm both the best singer and best whistler of the house. Whenever I'm listening to music I just can't control myself and I let the music take over. I get many complements on my excellent whistling. I do think my singing can use some improvement but I'm fairly satisfied to where it is right now.

This song is great to sing along with

Another thing that has come up in the house is bathroom behavior. It turns out that our house is very divided in almost everything you can do on the toilet and people were very surprised to hear that there is a different way of doing things then their own way.

Part 1: Do you sit or stand while wiping?

My thoughts on this are:

What is amazing that our house is almost 50/50 divided on whether they sit or stand. And here is also where comes great discussion, because standers don't see how you can possibly sit, and sitters don't understand how you can possibly ever stand. I have been both and can understand both sites, however, most people are baffled by the other option.

Part 2: Do you look on the toilet paper to see if you're done?

Again a big division on this, (this is also part of the discussion on how blind people know if they are done wiping. Here I don't understand how you can not look to see if you're done. You don't even have to look every time, but then just the last one. However the non-lookers claim they just know when they're done (friction wise).

Part 3: How many squares of toiletpaper do you use per wipe?

Assuming double ply toiletpaper our house ranges from using 2 squares up to 8!! squares per single wipe! while most people will fold the toilet paper once/twice before using there are apparently also people who sort of mash it into a ball before wiping....

All in all it is very surprising how there are so many ways to do this with everyone thinking their own method is vastly superiour to all the other options. I guess it is a subject nobody ever talks about and everyone just assumes everyone does it the same...

Let me end this blogupdate with saying that if you haven't seen it you should probably go and see inception.

I've been lacking pretty bad with updates, mostly because I've been playing lots of poker and just enjoying vegas very much!

We went bowling yesterday and I won a bunch of bowlingpropbets (also lots my fair share, it is pretty hard to bowl strikes with your left hand)... Ended up bowling a 161 and 174 which was very good for me!

Every day we go out to dinner, or get lunch somewhere and today we had to go to the walmart because we were out of a lot of things, most importantly water... which we seem to drink an insane amount of!

So while we're walking down the isles Matt comes up with the great idea for Denny (the_end) to win some of his money back that he lost flipping (he lost 5 coinflips in a row while martingaling Matt). He wants to slap him with a frozen Salmon...

Eventually Patrick (beans) ended up smaking Denny on the ass!

Matt also has video of this which should be uploaded later today or tomorrow and the sound from the smack makes you shiver!

The looks from the other people in the supermarket was priceless!

Arrived safe and sound in vegas!
Will give longer TR later but had to post about me just losing a sick bet at spinney balsies!

I got 100 to 1 to make a shot for $100. (so if I made it I would play the ME for $10K)

Unfortunately I missed. The goal was to hit the ball like this:

I have to admit I wasn't even close to making the shot but I couldn't resist taking the bet getting those odds!

Will give a more thorough update of vegas later!

I'm leaving for Vegas on Tuesday! Time always flies and Vegas is already around the corner!

Luckily I did manage to get my drivers Licence:

So now I can drive around in vegas/mexico and not get into that much trouble

Have not done much the last few weeks except breaking even with poker and watching tv shows.
I finished Community (decent), Archer (can be awesome), BattleStar Galactica (that took the most time obviously, found it actually a pretty good show although the final season was not that great imo.)

Going to start in Vegas with probably Sopranos or the Wire...
This year I'm going to try and NOT gain 13 pounds in a month of vegas...

Since I watch so much tv I keep on hitting moments where I have no clue on what to watch now.
I decided to make a list of what I've watched in the last couple of years and possibly people have some recommendations for me what to watch next.

COMEDY
- It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (consider this to be the best show I've ever seen)
- Curb Your Enthousiasm (Gold Jerry! Gold! I still like Larry David on tv!)
- Scrubs (always enjoyed this very much, season 6,7,9 were not so good though)
- Friends (classic by now, but seen it to often now)
- How I Met Your Mother (first 4 seasons were very solid, last one not so much)
- The Big Bang Theory (Again pretty solid show which has very few weak episodes)
- Two and a Half Men (starting to slip, don't think it will work without charlie next season)
- Modern Family (Solid new show)
- Cougar Town (kindof meh, has some good moments but usually pretty predictable)
- Coupling UK (probably favorite UK show I've seen, esp first 3 seasons)
- Office US (getting weaker and weaker each year...)
- Better Off Ted (Had some very solid episodes and it is ashame it got cancelled!)
- Arrested Development (Pretty decent show, don't love it as much as many other people do though)
- Entourage (Definately Entertaining and worth the watch!)
- SeinFeld (Still pretty funny, except the stupid Jerry sketches at the beginning of the ep)
- Married with Children (Can still enjoy this but will admit that it might be a little outdated now)
- King of Queens (Okish, if you have nothing better to do you can watch this)
- Californication (Pretty solid but has some weak episodes from time to time.)
- 30 Rock (Never liked this at all, quit 6 eps in)
- Parks & Rec (same as 30 rock, quit 4 eps in)
- The Life and Times of Tim (Pretty entertaining, best moment in show: s02e04 at 19:50)
- Futurama (Amazing show, looking forward to the restart of this show!!)
- Simpsons (very solid from season 2 till 12, after that downhill and now almost unwatchable)
- South Park (Has very hit and miss episodes in my opinion, overall decently good)
- Family Guy (Same as south park, but overall pretty good to see it all)
- Hank (horrible, thank god it's cancelled)
- King Of The Hill (overall more bad then good eps, but can have its moments)
- Red Dwarf (Meh, if there is nothing better to watch it's ok to leave on)
- Worst Week (not particularly funny, quit about 10 eps in)
- Reno 911 (Can be very funny, or very lame)
- 3rd Rock From the Sun (really like this show, dick is amazing, getting slowly outdated)

SCI FI
- V 2010 (Remake of the old V, annoying plotholes, not great acting, but still watch it for some reason)
- Fringe (Very slow start but after get through that it becomes pretty interesting! storyline eps are amazing while the standalone eps usually are not very good)
- Lost (Very dissapointing ending but I did enjoy the first 5 seasons, with season 2 being very good! (unfortunately I will not rewatch this ever because of how they ended it)
- Stargate SG1 (original stargate, somewhat outdated by now but I can still enjoy it)
- Stargate Atlantis (Started of pretty good but seem to have run out of ideas at the end)
- Stargate Universe (newest stargate, unsure about sofar, not many relatable chars, might turn out to be good)
- Startrek Voyager (only Startrek I've watched and enjoyed it more then I should have I think)
- FlashForward (Horrible from the start and got even worse... luckily cancelled!)
- Masters of Science Fiction (very solid first episode, downhill after that)
- Heroes (Very fun first season, after that downhill, just imagine it got cancelled after season 1 and you should be good!)
- 4400 (started of great, thought they could've done more with the show. Unfortunately cancelled)
- FireFly (WHYYY did you get cancelled? )

ACTION
- Breaking Bad (Pretty good, only problem is that I have no characters I like, although Walter is ok)
- Prison Break (Very good first season, that is where they should've stopped, Season 4 was horrible)
- 24 (very good first seasons, season 7 was ridiculously dumb, haven't seen 8 yet)
- Veronica Mars (Very good show w/ Kristen Bell, def worth the watch!)
- Lie To Me (Very fun first season, but they seem to be out of ideas and show got stale in season 2)
- OZ (prety hard prison show.)
- Band of Brothers (watch this about once a year)
- The Shield (possibly one of the best Action shows ever created)
- Dexter (very good show (season 3 was not that good though), can't wait for seson 5!)
- Jericho (liked this very much, unfortunately cancelled halfway through season 2)

ANIME
- Death Note(one of the better shows I've seen, although they should've stopped about 15 eps earlier)
- Rurouni Kenshin (Decent, but more about char development then action)
- Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden (Just one of those shows you watch every week)
- Bleach (see Naruto)
- Hajime No Ippo (Boxing Anime which is surprisingly good and fun to watch! New eps coming this year)
- The Golden Boy (only 6 eps but all very very funny)
- Berserk (I enjoyed this to the part where the Anime stopped and it only continued in Manga)
- Ghost (just started to like this when no new eps came out)
- Yu-Gi-Oh (how dumb this show might be, I enjoyed it...)
- Avatar (meh, didn't really like this)

MISC
- Survivor (. At the top of my alltime favorite shows, the whole concept appeals to me alot and after 20 seasons I still love it, seen each season at least twice)
- Desperate HouseWifes (only seen first two seasons and was ok but not great)
- Gossip Girl (meh, characters never develop and looks like regardless of what happens the characters reset at the next episode/arch)
- Jersey Shore (classic)
- Glee (not my type of show, quit 8 eps in)
- Survivorman (very entertaining show on how to survive)
- I shouldn't be alive (very realisticly made episodes)

What Now?
I don't know what to watch next, have the following shows lined up/downloaded:
Battlestar Galactica, Community, Treme

But I need more recommendations for after I'm done with those/ I don't like those.
I'm considering the following shows:
Eureka, The Wire (couldn't get into it a year back), Mad Men

But I'm open to anything at this time... since it looks like I watch way way way to much tv

Been watching lots of tvshows lately (what I always do, especially when poker doesn't go so well).

Some pretty solid jokes in that show, not every episode is as strong but I like the only 10 min episode structure they have... Only watched the first season sofar but it's pretty funny, not at the level of It's always sunny in philly but I don't mind watching it when I have nothing to do

Sci-fi show, starts of pretty slow and would've been better if they left out a bunch of filler eps. It is kindof like the X-files but different. Am halfway through season 2 with this so I don't know what I'll think of it at the end of the season but as long as the episodes revolve around the main story line.

I think this show is ok, am not in love with it like other people are, mostly because almost none of the characters appeal to me or grow on me., and when they sometimes start to they do something retarded that I feel like no-one would ever do...

Was looking through lots of old pictures yesterday and also came across this one where I was in vegas about 15 years ago, you can see the construction of the Stratosphere on the left and the old waterpark (Wet & Wild?) on the right... it's a shame they removed that park.

I might ask for another show recommendation when I'm done with fringe... but I'll do that in my next blog post!

One thing I wanted to post after the TR was that after I got back I read an article on Dubai which gave me a different perspective on the city/country..

I know it is a pretty long read but it is very very worth it. Especially if you were considering visiting Dubai.

Read it here

Trust me that it really is worth the read!

Yesterday I watched the ending of Lost and as season 6 was progressing I was getting more and more sure that I would not like the ending. And I did not.

Video from another frustrated fan

On TwoPlusTwo Assani basically said how I felt.
Quote:
1. "Lost is a show about the characters and their stories. The mysteries are just secondary."

This seems to be a popular line among the Lost-defenders out there. Whats funny to me is that for 5 seasons whenever people complained about not getting answers, the response was always "Just wait...its still early in the story." And now that we haven't gotten those answers, the response is to tell us that the story was purely character driven and that the answers aren't all that important. I think thats BS.

I think that if the Lost-defenders were honest with themselves, they'd admit that the show's main appeal has always been the mystery aspect. Its the mysteries that have caused us to spend hours and hours on online message boards debating different things. Its the mysteries that caused us to go back and rewatch old episodes for clues. Think back to some of the best scenes in the history of the show such as Michael shooting Ana Lucia and Libby, Eithan not being on the plane's manifest, finding out that it was a flash forward and not a flashback at the end of season 3, first seeing Jacob and MiB at the beginning of the season 5 finale, etc. What do they all have in common? They're all great scenes because they're either great reveals or great cliffhangers. I think that anyone who doesn't admit that this is the major reason Lost is so popular is simply lying to themselves to justify how poorly the writers have handled the conclusion of so many mysteries.

Even if I were accept that "its a character driven show", then I don't think the characters are collectively strong enough to make it anything more than an average show. Don't get me wrong....Ben and Locke were phenomenal characters. Sayid, Desmond, Richard, and a few others were very solid as well. However, there were definitely a ton of weak characters such as Kate, Shannon, Boone, Claire, Sun(early on she was ok, but her character was horrendous after her and Jin got separated), Michael, etc. As a whole, the characters' stories just aren't compelling enough to make Lost anything more than a slightly above average TV show.

Listing the best characters only proves that its a mystery show imo. Ben and Locke were quite clearly the two best characters imo, and not surprisingly.....they had huge mysteries concerning their character's intentions and beliefs throughout the show!

Lost clearly marketed itself as a mystery show all along. Every promo was about mysteries and answers to those mysteries. The cliffhangers, the music to build suspense as a cliffhanger/reveal was happening, the character's vague communication, etc. was all in line with a mystery show. And that is what made it so great! So I'm simply not buying this nonsense about it being a character driven show all along.

2. The journey was indeed quite fun and very well done in certain parts.

I'm sure that because of the overall tone of my post, most people will think I hate the show. Thats not true at all. Through 5 seasons it was my favorite show of all time, and I argued for it as the best show ever quite a few times. The scenery was great, Emerson and O Quinn were brilliant in their roles, Sawyer/Hurley provided decent comic relief, the music fit the show perfectly, and so on. Theres definitely a lot to like about the show, and I do admit that I enjoyed it a lot.

3. My expectations were clearly too high, but I still think they could've done a lot better.

As I've mentioned before in these threads, I love movies with big twist endings that make you want to go back and rewatch the movie from the beginning. Movies such as The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Sixth Sense all do a great job of this. And I was hopeful that whenever the "big reveal" happened in Lost that I'd want to go back and rewatch it from the very beginning.

I guess that with a TV show it just isn't possible to have a totally cohesive story and tie all the loose ends together. But I dunno....I'm not a writer by any means, yet even I can think of some pretty cool ideas that would've easily been better than what they did. A few things I thought would've been cool:

-The Losties traveled back in time to the 1970s(and earlier) and we find out that every problem they encountered in 2004 was actually caused by them in the past. Ben wasn't lying at all when he said "We're the good guys" as they were simply trying to fix the Losties mistakes. I thought that the "we're the good guys" line was actually one of the most interesting things about the early/mid seasons because the Others seemed so obviously bad on the surface. I thought it would've been really mind blowingly awesome if upon rewatching the show, we would've seen that the Others were actually 100% good all along and only appearing bad because of the situation that the Losties put them in when they time traveled. The show kinda hinted at this a bit with Richard only thinking Locke was important because Locke telling him in the 1950s and with Ben only betraying his people because of Sayid, but they had a great chance to tie everything up that way and they just didn't do it.

-Locke was actually Flocke for quite a long time. Locke was a really strange character with a lot of mysterious beliefs and a quickness to have "faith in the island". I though it would've been really cool to see that after one of his meetings with smokey or when he "saw into the heart of the island" that something really did change(i.e. it was no longer Locke) and that would give a great explanation to his character's actions throughout the series.

-There was a lot more to the "Desmond skipping through time" storyline, and they could've ran with that idea a lot more. Perhaps some of the other main characters such as Widamore and Ben were also skipping through time(when they mentioned that they couldn't kill each other in Widamore's hotel room, my theory was that they were each other's constant).

-Have Aaron be extremely important and the entire "don't let him be raised by another" be 100% true. I speculated a few weeks ago that maybe Alt-timeline Aaron would be raised by Claire and that he would grow up to be good(Jacob?) and the one not raised by Claire would grow up to be bad(MiB?)...it might not be the best story in the world, but at least it would've tied together a lot of loose ends and made the early season happenings actually mean something.

There were quite a few ways for them to go about answering all of these questions, but they decided to make the Jacob/MiB storyline the major one. And I just never really liked their storyline at all. I've already mentioned how bad I think Across the Sea was, and that probably is the main reason I don't like their characters....their motivations and actions simply don't make all that much sense. It definitely
...
