shootaaA look at the life and times of Reid Young.
So things have been interesting so far this year. I've been to Vegas to celebrate a friend's brother's 21st bday. It was lots of fun and I mastered the table game known as Hold'em Bonus. It's pretty fun because you just make ridiculously thin value bets against the dealer's random hand, so if you're a walking pokerstove, the house edge is something like 0.08%. If you can see your friend's cards, which most places don't care about, then I'm pretty sure you're a winner in the game. I grinded up about $500 in 4 hours of play, so ship it.
We had lots of yummy foods in the few days I was there. We went to Naked Fish immediately, which I'm craving so badly already. We went to Craft Steak, where I got the flat iron and it was amazing! While we were waiting to be seated, I ordered a dirty martini which ended up being a non-dirty 7oz drink of doom and not dirty. So yeah, 5 shots of vodka later, we're finished with dinner. We also checked out Mesa Grill, which is always nice and Burger King at O'Shea's. O'Shea's is surprisingly trashy, well I guess not that surprising. It was fun overbet bluffing people at 4 handed 200nl tables and fun things like that. We partied quite hard one day and I made it back to the room with my friend at 9am (no comments). We woke up next to some half empty bottles of water and half eaten danishes from Starbucks. The entire next day was spent in recovery and I had to leave Gaylords to avoid puking on our table. So after Vegas, I was off to the PCA... wrong, I left my passport at home, weeeeeeee. Another night partying in Vegas and now I'm back home. I've been writing my book, playing some 5knl, and trying to get my sleep schedule back on track as it's basically 12 hours off of what I'd like after Vegas. Things are going well, my 5knl results have been ridiculous, I got in AA vs 55 the first hand of a heads-up match and lost, someone turned two-pair versus my tptk, races here and there. I'm not down too much and I think it's likely I"m a winner in the games, so that makes me feel happy about things. They're certainly challenging though, and it's very exciting to see such a big Hold'em challenge for me again. It also makes playing 1knl seem like a joke, which is fun too. I hope you guys are well, I'll be writing a lot in the next few weeks because I'm going on a road trip with some friends to Penn to do some snowboarding and because I want to get this book finished! I came up with my cover picture and I think it looks pretty sick, but I want to hang on to it for now to keep the suspense! I just wanted to let you guys know how things are going. Oh, I'll also be starting new group lessons pretty soon, so get ready for that! BAM! -Reid
