this was nice because i'd just run top two into sets and lost 8 of my last 10 races or so... a welcome change and wake up call to probably stop playing so many regs...

BUT somethings I think I'll take away is that I still suck at poker AND... that's about it. Time to get better and hopefully find more randos trying to dump their roll to me at heads up Instead of tilt looking for games, I'm just practicing guitar, which I have set up right next to the computer so I don't lose people by not clicking auto-post quickly enough.

Take care guys, I'm off to the bars to meet some friends to spew randomness in trivia!

I'm not too sure how many of these hands are "interesting" in that they'll spark a lively educational poker debate... meh maybe some of them will, so holler if you want to know why I did what where!

This was the first 3 bet hand we played in which my opponent was the pre-flop aggressor. Given some reads a friend messaged me, I felt like my play was pretty ownage given my preflop call... the results, not so much

Full Tilt Poker, $10/$20 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BB: $2,619.50
Hero (SB): $2,129

Pre-Flop: 8 8 dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to $60, BB raises to $180, Hero calls $120

Flop: ($360) 2 6 2 (2 Players)
BB bets $280, Hero raises to $620, BB raises to $2,439.50 and is All-In, Hero calls $1,329 and is All-In

Turn: ($4,258) 6 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: ($4,258) 7 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: $4,258 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
BB showed 6 5 (a full house, Sixes full of Twos) and WON $4,257.50 (+$2,128.50 NET)
Hero showed 8 8 (two pair, Eights and Sixes) and LOST (-$2,129 NET)

Again, a soul read / bye bye $1000 hand. This is the first time I 3 bet this player... pretty sure he never has AK, KK, AA here and he's quit me a few times saying he didn't want to play heads up (oddly enough he was classy enough to quit me immediately after this hand) so I Tiger Woods fist pump called.

Turn: ($2,000) 3 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: $2,000 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
SB showed J T (two pair, Tens and Eights) and WON $1,999.50 (+$999.50 NET)
Hero showed A Q (a pair of Eights) and LOST (-$1,000 NET)

A potentially interesting hand... this is again early in a 6max session and I didn't know that much about this player. I really didn't expect to be raised by a set on the river and I though he might still be a hero with JJ thinking that I only bet a five on the river or something silly like that. The reason I fold is because I have no idea if he can turn a hand into a bluff or think it's a good spot to do so if he could make a bluff here since people don't fold sets ever.

Well I've gotten regular guitar lessons, which are pretty boring compared to just learning songs immediately; however, I know if I can stick it out for a while and grind out some practice here and there that it will certainly be worth it.

I just noticed that sauce put up a 10k video, and I cannot wait to learn something from that! It's really great for poker that all the poker sites seem to be pushing each others' products to get better and better.

The day before yesterday, I lost 4k and I was happy with how I played, I just lost a bunch of things like KK v AK AIPF, combo draws v 2 pair in aggro heads up matches, etc. All 4 or so of my heads up matches would start off something to the effect of: COOLER, me steal blinds and small pots 20 or so times, COOLER, then they leave, bleh, what are you gonna do?

Yesterday, I made 5k, a lot of it came from someone I decided to play heads up and stack twice almost immediately when I bought in for 1k and stacked him again 2k effective. After that I played a few smaller hands with him and ultimately decided that he was much better deep stacked than myself, which is certainly something I need to look into improving. Hey, perhaps I'll watch a few videos!

Last week:

My roommate and friend Jon, an extremely good chef who has studied at Le Cordon Bleu (sp) made us some BBQ, it's delicious as usual and our plan to trade poker lessons for cooking lessons seems to be crystallizing for our buying and nomming pleasures. Hopefully, later today, we can ship some sort of 4 course meal deal and I'll have some sick presentations to post on here of how the pros make food

Today is going to be great! I plan to watch Brotherhood of Justice

which is a moving wherein Keanu Reeves takes it upon himself, as captain of the football team, to police his school, to get down deep in the muck where the police are afraid to go or don't know to go. But when Reeves finds that some non-white person sells his brother drugs, he and his brotherhood just go around racially profiling and beating up randos. Kiffer Sutherland just runs around and cries about things the entire time until I think Keanu just goes Matrix style on him at some point for trying to steal his girl, who becomes increasingly aware of Keanu's racism. Certainly a solid movie script, IMO, and if you enjoy hilariously bad movies, like myself, it's a must see.

Oh and OMFG... Entourage comes back tonight! Jon and I are going to our friends' place to watch it, too. They're some of the nicest and funniest people I know, mostly because we just make fun of Jon a lot.

Hey guys! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Reid and I've been playing poker for about 4 years, just graduated from Wake Forest University, and, most recently, have moved into my first place to grind out a life-roll playing online poker. You might know me as shootaa on twoplustwo or remember me from a video I co-commentated on with Craig (craigthedeac) that was a 4 tabling 400nl video not too long ago.

Hopefully I can get the rest of my other blog copied over to this one, but in the meantime, I'll just jump right into whats been going on with me lately.

The past week has been insane. I've just been moving things around for and buying things for our new apartment downtown. It's very close to WFU, so I get to see Craig (craigthedeac), Greg (MYNMSGREG), and all my other close friends who are back in town for school. We go out a lot and in addition to being a nice grind set up, our new place is certainly about ready to host some epic parties!

GRIND HOUSE

LIVING ROOM (minus yet to be acquired floor rug & bar stools)

VIEW FROM THE LIVING ROOM / MY ROOM

There's a heated pool on the roof, and although it's not that big (more like a huge hot tub really) it's still a pool on the roof! CMON. The view up there is great, especially at night. I have a story about an incident involving four wasted people and a security guard who VERY MUCH SO wanted us to know that we were not allowed to bring glass out by the pool. You can imagine that it wasn't the best first impression to make in a new building... but sometimes you just have to ship it.

I'm starting back with guitar lessons tomorrow, since I no longer have to juggle both college and poker, I can get back to learning something else. I'm also going to call a nearby Ju Jitsu place tomorrow in order to set up some private lessons and hopefully hit the ground running. I miss wrestling a lot, and from what I've heard, this will take it to a new level, maybe not physically, but certainly technically.

Other random things... I guess I got some new sheets with a high thread count. IDK why anyone would care about that, but they feel nice, so I recommend them. I'm looking forward to blogging here at Leggo in the future, and I suppose I'll end with my obligatory monthly winnings, which suffered greatly from all the fun traveling and moving I've been doing!

Take Care guys!

-Reid
