My run... @ "The Micro's"Join me on my journey through the toils of merge network's micro stakes.
So I feel like I've done pretty well lately, although as you can see I don't have a very large hand sample and haven't put in a TON of volume. This is partly due to the "dropping down in tables" I mentioned in my previous post but I really should be putting in more volume now and hopefully I will be able to soon. I did make a few mistakes the most of which when I was a little tired and accidentally opened too many tables at once while table selecting. I ended up getting into a whole bunch of tough situations on all of them at once, losing a good 4-5 buy-ins at 25NL, feeling overwhelmed and unable to think normally. I have, on the other hand been watching a lot of videos across the various training websites. It's been mostly 200NL and below all the way down to 25NL and I feel like it's been helping a good bit. Since I don't have a ton of hands logged I'm not really sure if I'm just running good or not but I do know I've gotten quite a bit better lately and am feeling reasonably confident in my game. If I keep running good I'll soon be taking 3 buy-in shots at 50NL and I guess we'll all see how that goes.
On an unrelated note, it turns out my cousin is actually a Mid-High Stakes Pro who has profited a very large sum of money over the past couple of years according to PTR. He's even a "Super Nova Elite" player on Stars which I think is really cool because it's pretty damn difficult to achieve. Even to play such high stakes, especially while playing so many tables at a time is pretty impressive. Recently due to Black Friday he had moved to Canada to grind out some hands but has since been taking some time off of the game to pursue other interests. Even though he's pretty busy doing other things now he has expressed interest in staying current with the game, maybe playing a little on merge and possibly getting into coaching. He has a agreed, being my cousin and all to offer coaching at a rate significantly lower than the high dollar-ly rate that most high stakes pros usually get. I'm going to be making a video for him soon, I'm not sure if it will be 25NL or 50NL yet but I need to get this damn video taken care of soon and stop being lazy about it. Welp that's it for today's lame-o blog. I need to think of some cool HH or discussion topics.... something for next time. P.S. If anyone wants to do a sweat session or even talk HH's feel to free to PM me! Oh, and by the way thanks for all the welcoming comments last time everyone! ![]() ![]()
