I had a donk to my left who twice called my all in squeeze with worse hand (AK v A10 and AQ vsKQ lol donkaments). finally we duel from the blinds I 3x AJ and fire all streets on 8 Q 9 k and river 7 with 3 spades at the turn (i have Ace spades) he calls all streets with A8 no spade and im out!. the table broke so i cldnt let a few choice expletives fly. so i look hi up and hes sitting at 200nl 6 max with 1800. now im not even rolled for nl.50 but i decide that hes a big station and i was gonna take a shot well 51 hands later..... (






so i decide to reluctanlty quit.at 600

after 30 min I have quitters remorse and go to see if hes still playing and this is what i saw.
he soon quit before i got on




solid 1/2 session by him!

Played a little 6max .5/1 which im not really rolled for but booked a little win (3 bi 500 hands no hem). I was multi tabling some tournys so i only had 2 tables of cash going and obv ran like the sun.

Played pretty poorly in mtts, I feel tournys are like riding a bucking bull, sometimes your going to do the right thing and still get thrown off, however if you do the right thing for long enough then you ll give yourself the opportunity of lasting the full 8 seconds ( or 6-10hrs in poker years). Well last night the bull was kind but i was tired and jumpedl off, im sure if it was a rodeo those little clowns would come kick me as punishment.

There are no meaningful live tournys in melb till the aussie millions so I guess unless i sattlelite into an APPT event Ill be sticking to online mtt with a little live cash (2/5nl at crown is so soft). Im thinking of playing a little PLO and some limit games,as NL feels like im always playing catch up whereas the other games I can learn with the curve, also i have a great record in Horse tournys ( ppl dont understand limit) so maybe thats transferable to cash. I think Townsand has made the move to 7 game ( he feels like that is where the biggest potential earn is or maybe hes over variance).

Well im about to watch Blazing Saddles iconic movie that was the first to ever show( err hear?) farting, I highly recommend it, however I also own every series of gilmore girls.so take that advice with a grain of salt (wtf does that mean anyway).

ps( yes im an aussie so i do have a kangaroo and koala in my backyard we call them lunch and dinner!)

Hi guys. dont you hate it when the headline has nothing to with the story (well read on for the clonie gowan story) This is my first blog, im an accountant therefore i cant write.however I thought writing a blog might improve my horrible writing skills and I want to record my progress from first live cash(last night) to a big live win (?).


My first session was live at crown casino in Melb, home to the aussie millions, joe hachem and seabeast first big live win.( i live 10 min away) I won $1000 at 2/3 that night. Due only to the fact that live players are really bad and that i ran like christ. At the end of the day i thought "how long has this been going on" and made immeidiate plans to become a pro (ah how naive).

After that (obv didnt turn pro) I lost for the the next 12 months (live & online) I read books that were useless( helmuth, duke and gordon s book to name a few. I would bluff live $2/3 players who just dont fold. I was just a horrible player (albeit one that could make good live reads amd I had a hunger to learn also i should add; watching the WPT telecast is prob not a good learning tool either)).clonie gowan story follows)

Three months ago, i was on the verge of giving up, i lost 800 live trying to repeatadly semi bluff where i had no fold equity. In July i watched every episode of high stakes poker and started to read seabeast blogs and posts as well as watching his videos. I decided that i would play mostly tournys due to the poor standard of play and live cash for the same reason. However July 09 still saw no results,My poker theory was good though and was teaching a friend how to play and I simply regurgitatied things i had read and seen at leggo and on 2+2 (this started to create ah huh moments). early in August everything changed. I played a live tourny where i lost aa vs ak however not b4 i had proceeded to bluff off half my stack after showing a bluff on the first hand ( a good pro was on the table and i was showing off and i was still dumb enuff to think that ppl would give me credit 4 a hand) I then played some cash(same day) and completely dominated the table however I lost a decent pot AA aipf vs a10(tilting donk) and 75s (73yr old lady with broken english she hit a straight I reiterate aipf) after berating her for an hour I tilted like a 12 yr old girl who had lost her barbie and came home a 500 loser. after being 400up). I went home and had 11 dollar on line on full tilt i entered a 6k tourny and vowed to give up poker at the end of the tournament buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.

I won, and since then ive won a 14k knockout and have cashed in 26% of tournys (heater much?) Ive also won 10 buyins live in 2 months. Yesterday I played my first live event and final tabled event 6 of the pokernews cup. and although the money wasnt anything life changing the result might be, on my table there was a contestant on the poker star(australian reality poker show awful!) and she is considered a good player and I felt Iike I schooled her and that I was the best player on every table i sat at. I am now up 6k in 2 monthsI and can feel myself making rapid improvement and hopefully if your intrested in tournys and live cash u might take some interest in this blog.

sorry about the long post and im sure those greedy a.d.d suffering people have already scrolled down, however as promised here it is. yesterday at crown I saw clonie gowan and she had see thru white pants
