So I completed my first actual semester of school, after trying four separate times. I finished with a 3.2 GPA, getting a C in chemistry and As in my other two classes. Had to drop one due to a bad professor, but whatever. I am taking 6 classes next semester and I'm pretty pumped about it. I didn't meet my goal of 3.5, but I'm still really happy with my results.
I wish I had time to compete for ballroom dance next semester, but I just don't have the time to do it, although I'm really jealous of those that do and do it well. We had a couple that one the collegiate national open competition and it was really awesome to watch it live. I digress, though.
While I'm on break, I'm going to be making a couple videos, probably tailored towards live play unless anyone wants me to do a video review for them. Is there anything that anyone wants to see in particular? PM me if you'd like or post in comments.
Gotta run,

So school is pretty fun. I have only missed one class so far, which is pretty ridiculous given how my past attempts went. I had my first exam this morning, and think it went alright, which is good too.
I'm actually participating as a student now too. I've gone to both of UT's home games and had a great time each time. Both times, I went with a group of ballroom dance people, and they're a really fun group to hang out with. I started going to their practices, and actually enjoy it? Not really sure, but something about dancing with 20+ girls is pretty sweet.
I've started talking to one of the instructors there and am optimistic about where things are going. I have a sweet core of friends that help push me to go to classes and study for exams and stuff, very much unlike my previous attempts at school. I feel like this is helping very much and I'm very happy with how things are going so far.
I haven't had any time for poker at all, which I'm not all that unhappy about. It's going to be a nice break from playing until Toledo opens a casino in March. I'm gonna try to not play at all until that opens and start grinding there on the weekends and maybe some during the week when I don't have much homework.
I also have an idea for a website that I'm in the planning stages for. I'm not going to go too far into detail on it because I don't want to risk it getting made faster than I can make it, but everyone I've talked to has liked the idea thus far.
Just wanted to give a quick update, because I'm really happy with how life is, despite having a HUGE amount of issues with the financial aid offices.
Until next time.

So I start school today. First semester, for the 4th time. Yes, 3 failures later, I decided it was a good idea to go back. I am actually taking this attempt seriously though, so we'll see how it goes. Majoring in Computer Science and Engineering, it sounds like it should be fun.
Goals:
Still get hands in, after all classwork done.
Get a 3.5+.
Talk to lots of freshman girls.

So that's it.. just like that. A 3-outer to end a depressing series. I had one cash in a $2500 6max, and 13 busts on day 1s. I felt like I played well in all of my tournaments, especially in the main.
A quick recap because I'm still pretty tilted and confused on what my next step in life is. My table was terrible. Jamie217 and Pasterbator to my right and left respectively, but that wasn't really an issue as we never really got into pots together. There were a few European guys that never folded and I never made a hand. There was an Asian kid that was pretty laggy and never gave up. There were a few non-descript younger/middle-age kids and then there was superfish.
Superfish was quite a piece of work. He limp/called a few times, including limping behind JJ after an UTG limp and coolering a kid's 77 on J97. That was the only time we lost a player at the table until about 30 minutes left in day 1. I kept hearing about all the soft tables and all the retards at my friends' tables, and I had the nittiest table I've ever seen.
Back to the matter at hand, superfish had quite a few hands that were ridiculous. The JJ hand wasn't bad.. he limp/reraised AK huge, and he 3bet AK huge and won the flip vs Paster. He raised Q8s and flopped a pair and FD and shoved for 3x pot and won vs the NFD. He limped 88 twice, JJ once, and AK once. He raised 86o, Q8s and A9s. He minraised AA. He was my nemesis. He c/red a lot, including throwing out c/rs for ridiculous amounts as soon as anyone cbet. He was a nut.
He limped one hand and I completed 43o in SB (20k stack) after a couple limpers at 150/300/25. Flop was Ax2c5c and it checked through. I checked the offsuit 8 on the turn, Paster bet 1k, fish called and I made it 5k. I figured Paster wasn't calling a c/r with any of his range, so I may as well make it huge to be able to shove river vs the fish that never folded. It went as expected, and I shoved 1.5x pot on the offsuit 10 river. Superfish called with 88 and I doubled to 40k.
That was the last pot that I won for 3.5 hours. I raised QThh with 13k at 200/400, and BB called with 3k behind and check/called allin on J9xhh with TT. I binked a heart on the river to get to 19k or so.. and then we get the "final 3 hands" message from the TD.
I fold a couple hands and the last hand I open A9s UTG to 1k, superfish calls and Asian kid calls behind. Flop is Ac9c5x, I bet 2100, superfish calls. Turn 2x, I bet 5k and he shoves for my final 15k total.. I snap him off and he starts laughing really loud while saying "my turn to do it to you" and rolls 43o (no club). I brick river and am busto on the last hand of the night.
So that's it. 1/14 for the summer, and haven't really won at anything since I moved out here. I'm not sure where to go from here. I don't think I want to move to Canada, and I don't have enough of a roll to grind any live stakes worth grinding. Guess I'm gonna keep grinding on Merge and stuff for a while and see what happens there.. but I'm pretty depressed and lost right now.
Meh.

WSOP stuff isn't going well.. I've bricked the couple tournaments I played after the 2500 6max. I haven't played much cash recently, but I've been playing chinese with Peter's house, and I'm running like god. Thanks to tonymark01 and his ridiculous royalty, I made about 95 points last night. Two cards are called out (example, 9s and 8s), and everyone antes a point every hand. If one person has both cards, they get the pot, if no one has it we re-ante the next hand until someone does. I think I won 5 of the first 6 royalties. It was pretty disgusting how hot I've been running at chinese, I think I'm up ~180 points since getting out here.
Holla.

I dunno whether to be happy or sad about my finish in the $2500 6max. I feel like I could've played a few hands better, and it was seriously a very frustrating day. I never really got into any huge pots where I was confident with my hand. I only played two big pots postflop, both with the same European guy.
Hand 1, he just moves to the table with 100k at I think 800/1600. I cover him and the rest of the table. He opens in MP, I call on the button with T9dd, blinds fold. Flop is A98 with one diamond, he bets 4k, I make it 10,100 and he calls. Turn is the 6d, and he check/folds to my 20,200 bet. I'm not really sure if I like my flop play but I figured I could get some better hands to fold and can set up future barrels when I improve.
Hand 2, he opens in CO at 1200/2400 to 5k and I make it 12.5k with AKo, he calls. Stacks are around 110k effective I believe. Flop is A96dd, he calls my 12k bet. Turn is an offsuit J, and I bet 18k, setting up about a 3/4-pot river shove. He thinks for a while and jams. Until this time, I've never seen him do anything aggressive at all.. he's been pot controlling and being passive for the most part.. I tanked for quite a while and folded. It doesn't look like he has FE if he has like KQdd or something similar, and I don't think he's ever doing it with AQ. Again, I hate the position I'm in but I think it's a fold. I'm a nit.
So I doubled after that with 99 v AJ, and then raise/called AQ for 20bb and ran into AK, but it was a spot where his range was most likely wide and I just happened to run into the top of it. I shipped in my last 9bb with K4s on the button and Bakes had KJ in the BB and held. Finished 61st for $7,335.
Taking it easy for today, I have a $1500 tomorrow to win.

Hey guys, quick WSOP update since I can't sleep at all.
I got out here on June 2nd, our place is nice. The location is good and it looks great inside. I am too lazy to get pictures up though, sorry.
On the poker side of things, I've not really been playing well or running well. I'm down a few buyins at cash, and have only made 2 dinner breaks out of 4 WSOP events. I got a small cash in a Venetian Deepstack but nothing of note.
I got food poisoning the same day as the Venetian Deepstack, and ended up vomiting during the $1k WSOP event. Thank god I had a couple days off to relax and get well, because my favorite tournament of the summer was yesterday -- the $2500 6max. I'm coming in to day 2 of it today with a solid stack though. I ran really hot and played well yesterday.
Mini-TR:
I was accumulating nicely, up to 10k from 7500 at 25/50, raise J9hh, good player (I think his name was Josh Smith, not sure) called. Flop AQ8h, I cbet and he calls. Turn 4h, he leads and I raise around 2.5x and he calls. River 4 and he c/c with A6 to get me back to around 5k in chips.
Get to first break, come back and win TT v AK, then QQ v 97 on Q769x to get to 22k at 100/200. I basically ran the table after that. Got moved to an even better table where I was able to open 3/6 hands an orbit. A reg I played with before 3bet me and I defended with ATo. Flop KK2, he leads half pot and I call. Turn 3, he bets half pot again and I minraise, he folds and says show me a bluff.. I do and he starts to tilt.
He busts soon after, then a maybe speculative hand happens. I open ATs at I think 200/400, get 3bet small by an older guy and I defend. Flop Q97s, he cbets and I call. Turn is 2s and I jam for 1.5x pot after he checks. After thinking about it, I should have just bet enough to price myself in because it looks scarier, but he thinks for a while and calls with JJ. River 6s though, and I scoop the 60k pot to get to 115k.
I raise a lot of pots, and get moved to a new table. I call down a triple barrel against a younger guy with 88 on 332J9 and get shown QQ, but I don't think I mind the call-down. I was tired and it was late so it may be a river fold though. A few more hands happen, and then I defend bvb with A3s and eventually get looked up on river on a JT5ssQ3s board with 66. Apparently I have an image.
So I ended the day with 89k, going into 500/1000 today. 60 from the money, 188 until I get a bracelet.
GL guys!

So, I'm sitting in Denver, about to embark on my third day of driving a lot. I drove 7 hours to St. Louis on Tuesday, and 12 to get here yesterday. I'm very, very sick of driving and still have 10 hours to go approximately. Here are some thoughts I've had during the trip:
- Kansas sucks. I can't emphasize that enough. Long, boring state to drive through, and I was about ready to die when I got through the state finally.
- On another note, Kansas has strip clubs and porn places with arcades in them. I saw this on more than one occasion, it's got me really wanting to play pacman and see some tits.
- Getting pulled over is no fun. Getting a warning for going 15 over the speed limit is fun.
- St. Louis is cool, lots of construction though.
- Why did that rest stop in Kansas have a glory hole? Really creepy.
- I'm sure as shit glad to be out of Ohio.
These were basically the thoughts I had during my last couple days of driving. During the trip, at one point I sat on my phone weirdly and broke the port that charges my phone, so I had to buy a new phone yesterday morning. Now the semi-proud owner of a Samsung Droid Charge. I like it for the most part, there are some quirks about it that I don't like, but maybe I'll get used to it.
I'm driving into Vegas tonight, I can't wait to just be done driving. I'm so ready to just drink and live life, before the WSOP anyways.. then it's all business. Gotta run, this drive isn't gonna drive itself.
Enjoy,
Trevor

So in one week, I will be starting my drive from Ohio to Vegas. Staying there at least 6 months with my friend Peter. He's finding us a place on Friday. If anyone's out there (obviously for WSOP everyone will be) and wants to drink/degen or whatever, let me know and I'll give you my number.

Ughhh, frustrated.
Bricked all three $360 satellites, bought in the tournament, got 25th for $3k. Broke even after all was said and done basically. Ran really poorly in day 2, AQ < 22, A3 < 75, AQ < JJ, busto.
Cash went well though, played a couple of weird hands, and had one poorly played hand (I got there though, don't worry) and ended up a few buyins.
Overall it was a decent little trip, but I'm on rage-tilt right now from the shitty structure and how badly the tournament was ran.
Vegas in 3 weeks!
