I dunno whether to be happy or sad about my finish in the $2500 6max. I feel like I could've played a few hands better, and it was seriously a very frustrating day. I never really got into any huge pots where I was confident with my hand. I only played two big pots postflop, both with the same European guy.
Hand 1, he just moves to the table with 100k at I think 800/1600. I cover him and the rest of the table. He opens in MP, I call on the button with T9dd, blinds fold. Flop is A98 with one diamond, he bets 4k, I make it 10,100 and he calls. Turn is the 6d, and he check/folds to my 20,200 bet. I'm not really sure if I like my flop play but I figured I could get some better hands to fold and can set up future barrels when I improve.
Hand 2, he opens in CO at 1200/2400 to 5k and I make it 12.5k with AKo, he calls. Stacks are around 110k effective I believe. Flop is A96dd, he calls my 12k bet. Turn is an offsuit J, and I bet 18k, setting up about a 3/4-pot river shove. He thinks for a while and jams. Until this time, I've never seen him do anything aggressive at all.. he's been pot controlling and being passive for the most part.. I tanked for quite a while and folded. It doesn't look like he has FE if he has like KQdd or something similar, and I don't think he's ever doing it with AQ. Again, I hate the position I'm in but I think it's a fold. I'm a nit.
So I doubled after that with 99 v AJ, and then raise/called AQ for 20bb and ran into AK, but it was a spot where his range was most likely wide and I just happened to run into the top of it. I shipped in my last 9bb with K4s on the button and Bakes had KJ in the BB and held. Finished 61st for $7,335.
Taking it easy for today, I have a $1500 tomorrow to win.
