Full Ring Ballin'
This is a rant, if you don't wanna hear stupid poker talk, just click away from this page now.
Vegas was not very interesting at all. I played cash, won a couple buyins. Went 3/4 in CCR and only lost a breakfast at Denny's with me and Pete so I was up probably $400 from CCR. Tournaments weren't fun though. Played in a $120 at Aria when I was bored, joined two hours after it started and had 20bb, shoved a lot and ran AJ into AA. Played a $340 Venetian Deepstack event with Pete and Mike (hockeyav on Stars).. that went well -- not. I ran over the table basically and got my stack up to 3x starting stack. Had a seat open to my direct left.. and Mike sits in it. I blind down to like 20bb just not opening because I know Mike is gonna abuse me. I get KK in the BB, two limpers to me, I pop it to 6bb and the EP limper shoves and has me covered by .5bb. I call and he has KJo.. flop Q96, turn T. Cool. I just grinded cash the next couple days, then on the last night we played a daily at Planet Hollywood for fun. I ended up winning the last longer bet for $40, got to the final table, but bubbled the money. Shoved 64dd and got tank/called by AKs. Then had AJ with 1bb and ran into AK. Vegas ended up -1k or something overall, no fun. We got to Chicago last night and played in event 1 of the Chicago Poker Classic today, it's a $250 with an awesome structure. I was feeling good and made a lot of good reads in the first few hands I saw at the table. I don't play a hand for the first orbit because I'm still stuffed from lunch, then I decide to open 75cc in HJ, BTN and SB call. Flop is Q42ccc, I look 3 times to see if I have the flush. I bet pot, BTN calls and SB folds. Turn 3h, I bet 1700 into 1800, BTN makes it 4k, I sigh and shove. He calls and I flip over my flush.. he looks at it, nods and flips over his AKcc. Cool. So I have 1500 left at 25/50 and I'm still optimistic. Fold for an orbit, pick up QQ in SB after 4 limpers. I raise to 375, only UTG calls. Flop T94, I check with 1075 left into 850, thinking he'll shove often, and he checks back. I fake tank and shove on the turn 7, and he SNAPcalls. I hate my life until he turns over 88. River.. J. My first live tournament bust in under 30 minutes. Fun times. So now I'm sitting in the room, just walked around downtown for a while and got dinner with DJ. Pete's still in with all the chips in day 1, he'll probably win knowing how he runs. I have a friend coming into town tomorrow with one of her girlfriends and I'm taking the next couple days off to relax and hang out with them. On Monday I'm playing the $350 6-handed, hopefully running better than I did today. Sorry for the rant.
