Hi all,
Thought it was time for a little update. The weather has been great here in Holland for the last week or so, so I've played some tennis and mainly been outside a lot. I don't really like to sit inside and play poker when the sun is shining. I went to Amsterdam on saturday for my friends birthday, which was fun. Met some weird people in the train too.
Haven't updated my results yet from March, but it was my biggest winning month so far! I won over 30K which is quite nice considering I'm not really a high volume player.
I haven't played a single cash hand yet in April, probably will do so tonight. I did play in a couple of SCOOP events: The 2xC medium and high, the medium 2 day event and will play the medium and high HU tonight. In both the 2xC I got either coolered or bad beat. In the 2day event I was playing well and was going back and forth between 20-200 position. The field was really weak Then with about 950 players left with me somewhere around 35th, I repopped AK in the SB vs BTN open. We had relatively deep and even stacks. He calls, I flop KQ2ss, I cbet and he shoves. I tanked and figured he wouldn't shove a made hand, so I called and he shows Q7s and turns a 7 -.- Would've jumped into the top10 I think if I won that pot. Tournaments suck. Still hoping for that one big hit.

Hi all,
just a small update here. I got back on the tenniscourt since a while, and my game was a bit rusty of course, but not as bad as I had expected. Competition starts next month, so I hope I'll be in good shape by then. I did injure my wrist a little bit, hope it'll heal in time, so I can practice a bit more.
Pokerwise I've been doing good this month. I did run couple K below EV right from the start, but I had a good catching up session to that. There weren't that many special spots, and the spots I do get in, I forget to save. But now I know to use the HEM ingame HH viewer, so that should be taken care off in the future.
I'll leave the exact results away till the end of the month, because I don't wanna jinx myself now after the hell that February was.

Hey all!
It's been a while since I've updated, but I've been really sick and busy with assignments and exams for my study. Plus I didn't want to write until I had the pictures of the ski trip. Which was quite an adventure! I don't have all the photo's yet, but whatever.
On the first day, when our bus arrived at the mountain in Corbier, one of the wheel chains suddenly just popped. And it was snowing very heavily, so the bus had a really hard time getting to the top. At one point we were all pushing the 'bagage car' behind the bus, and surprisingly.. it worked! Well, at least for one turn. They had already closed the entrance to the mountain by then (2 buses crashed already), no more cars/buses were allowed to go up. We were still there though. Eventually we had to walk 12km (7.5 miles or so) to the top! It was very tiring but sort of cool at the same time. We were lucky enough to find a ride for the last 3km. A funny thing was that somewhere along the way there was a 'wall' of snow. So a friend of mine said I had to jump up against it. I was running to the 'wall' when suddenly the ground just seemed to disappear under my feet... I was stuck in like 1.5 meter of snow and really needed help to get out of it xD When we got to the top it was too late to go onto the piste, so we went straight for the après skiing! Fun stuff, free beers for 1 hour.

Here's us at the après ski bar
The next day the sun was shining and all was good. We had great snow because of the day before. I even went off piste and made my first 'line' in totally fresh snow. Thought that was really cool, it was like I was flying, everything was so smooth! After the great day we went aprés skiing of course. You get drunk really fast after snowboarding the whole day and start drinking without dinner. But it definitely makes things fun. We met some very cool girls (from RVSV, for the dutchies) and hung out with em the next couple of days. Our schedule basically looked like: Get up, snowboard, get drunk, eat dinner, get more drunk, ... sleep. The weird thing is that noone ever seemed to have a bad hangover in the mountains, can't complain about that.

Yellow snow fun and a pic with my fellow asian buddy
Two of my friends already went paragliding, and I thought it looked awesome, so on the last day, I also went paragliding. I met my instructor (who looked like a mountain hippie) at the take off point, he clicked some stuff on me, and off we went! The take off was much easier than I thought. Basically just snowboard straight down and make lots of speed. Before I knew it I was flying in the air. I understand now what fighter pilots mean when they talk about G-Forces. The guy was pulling the parachute every way, making sick 'twisters'. It was so much fun And the landing went really smooth too. But of course I couldn't leave the mountains without falling real hard at least one time. On the last day it started to get icy, but I still wanted to go real fast one more time. I lost all grip when I hit an ice plate, so I fell on my 'belly side', but still couldn't stop going down. After a couple of meters I tried to stick my board in the ice. You can already guess what happened, I flipped over and the same thing continued. I came to stop at the bottom of the piste, but luckily I didn't really got hurt.
Don't have my in air photo's yet, hope I'll get them soon
When I was drunk I promised some girls that I would dress up like a lady for the final party. That wasn't one of my best ideas -.- You do get lots of attention though xD. A lot more happened, but I can't remember all and it's kind of much to type, but these were the things that stood out the most to me All in all a great trip, had lots of fun!

Gay stuff, right photo is a dude for who's wondering. Cool chick on top left
Pokerwise February really sucked for me. This is my pain:
And lost about 8K on other client too, so about -10K month for me. Hopefully March will be better.
I'll try to update more often and post some interesting spots I got/get in. My exams are over, which went well I think Oh and I really liked the movie Bolt btw! The hamster Rhino was just killing me.
Gl all,
Denny

Hi guys!
Just wanted to do an update here because I've reached my goal for January! I wanted to earn 20K on 2/4 before playing higher again. I ran very well and also played well, so I've reached it without even putting in many hands:
I did spew a couple of times, but I really can't help myself sometimes, especially when everything seems to work anyway. I'm probably not going to play much more hands this month, because I'll be gone on a skitrip from 23rd till 1st of february, which I'm really excited about!
I'm not totally sure what I want to do in February. I know I want to put in a lot more hands (was really busy this month with study and other stuff), but I'm not sure what stakes yet. It always seemed to make sense that moving up means more money. However, I thought about it a bit more, and I'm not sure whether my hourly is better on 2/4 or on 3/6. On 2/4 I definitely have a higher winrate and can play more tables, so I might decide to skip 3/6 and play a bit more of 2/4 and then jump into 5/10.
I know I'm not really a good blogwriter, but I try

Yesterday I played a pretty annoying hand, which is posted below. I have no idea what the guy was thinking, but this is not a good way to play AKo -.- I was happy with how I responded to it though, I didn't really tilt off anything, I just put my avatar on confused.
But there are other things in life then poker I feel like I'm doing a good job on my study now. I've actually been at some lectures and have done some homework. Oh and I'm going on a ski trip the 23rd and today we have a drink with some other people who are going too, so that'll be fun!

Hey guys (how many female members do we actually have?)!
I played a session on 400nl yesterday, and I was lucky enough to run like God at the time I really needed too. Overall I played a little bit over 3K hands at 52bb/100, totalling a profit of 6700 which is my sickest #BI up in a day, I believe.
I did stack off postflop in a hand for nearly 250bb with 88 at the end of my session, which was awful and probably because I was getting boredtilted, so I decided to stop soon after that.

Hi guys!
Happy new year! I had a blast last night, got really drunk and can't remember the exact details of the end, but I bet it was fun! I'm eating a Cornetto ice horn for breakfast now, because we don't have anything else at home and the shops are closed. May all of you have a great 2009, poker and lifewise!
I did enter 2009 with a bit of sadness though. On the 30th en 31st I took 2 shots at 25/50, which failed miserably. I lost 5BI HU (were sweet spots imo), which isn't a huge swing of course, but it's pretty brutal for someone who usually plays 3/6 and 5/10! So what I will be doing in January is actually grinding out 2/4. I want to win 20K there first before I move back to regular stakes. I'm still perfectly rolled for 3/6, but the losses at 25/50 were a big mental downset, and I want to have the correct mindset when I play 3/6+, and not thinking about the 25K and try to win it back fast, making bad decisions along the way.
It's a setback for me, but I think it's very important to do this. I almost felt obliged to stay at 3/6+ now that I am a LeggoPro, but I don't think that playing 2/4 for a month is bad at all, and I want you all to know that moving down in stakes when you run bad or have a failed shot or whatever shouldn't be viewed of as a failure. You took a decision that you think was +EV for you, and it didn't work out. That happens, and being able to adapt to that and come back the hard grinding way is what defines a good player for a large part. We all can handle upswings and good shots, but it's the ones that don't break in a downer who will rise to the top!
Another thing though. I have a series planned, for which I am going to need your hand histories. Please send all of your interesting hands to dennyman@gmail.com! Ask your buddies too, or if you see an interesting hand that someone else played, don't hesitate to send it in.
I guess that's it for now. The very very best wishes for 2009!
- Denny

Hi there!
I'm gonna make this a quick one, got lots of stuff to do today!
It has been a busy but really fun month for me, and it's still not over yet. Yesterday I bought some fireworks, which should be ultra mega awesome. For the rest I'm just really looking forward to the newyears party. I don't think I'll be playing any more poker this year, it's been a pretty good ride. December was the swingiest month I ever had (had a swing of nearly 17K down and up again, which is pretty huge for me), I hope Januari will be a bit more stable. I don't have HEM for that long, so no pretty year graph from me, but I'll try to keep you all updated through 2009!
My newyears resolutions:
- Keep sporting
- Keep eating everything I want
- Get in more hands
- Study more (actually, live more disciplined in general)
- Make a really good slowroll
- Keep improving my game and be able to beat 10/20
I'm sure there's more, but this is all I can think of right now. Maybe I'll cheat a bit and get some ideas from other people
Oh and I finally got Guitar Hero World Tour at my place. It was my brother's present for when I turned 20 (7th December), and it's a great game!
Well that's it, watch out and have fun!

Dear blog,
First of all, Merry Christmas! This is my first real blog ever, so I'm not entirely sure how this works. I'll just type down things that are on my mind and things that happen in my everyday life.
Today I got my first video released on LeggoPoker. I was a bit nervous about how the reactions would be, but that worked out great! I'm pretty excited about what's to come in the future.
As for the rest of my day, I went to the movie called The Day the Earth Stood Still. The first 30 mins. were pretty decent, but then for the next 1,5 hours practically nothing happened. There were lots of plotholes, nonsense and bad casting/annoying characters. Not much action either, at least nothing interesting you didn't already see in the trailer. Awell, I have a 'go to the movies unlimited'-pass, so at least I didn't really pay for it. I hope Terminator Salvation will live up to the hype and be totally awesome!
For the next 2 days I'll be helping my parents out in the restaurant. It's pretty big and we're booked totally full for Christmas. Even though we'll all be working very hard, it's still nice to actually be there with your parents around Christmas time. Hell it can even be really fun if there are a couple of nice girls I can attend to. xD
I'll probably type another entry here in a couple of days. I want to write down some goals and new years resolutions. I think that'll be fun to look back at next year! For now I'll leave you with a picture of the lovely Doutzen Kroes, Holland's big pride and a Victoria's Secret Angel. Go watch their new show, it's hot! - Denny
