Hey guys,

thought I'd write up a small update about the life of denny. How many of you do fighting sports?

I had my first boxing training today. I've wanted to do boxing for a while now, and today I finally stepped up. I like to think I'm in pretty good shape because I go to the gym regularly. But goddamn this was heavy I really liked it though, the way of training and the result you'll get is exactly what I want: power mixed with stamina. So I'm curious how this will turn out.

Pokerwise August has been disastrous, and September has been awesome. I feel like I'm at the top of my game right now (I thought I was in August too but that didn't work out -.-). I have also tried to start up headsup tables for hours and hours and all I got were hit n runners (litterally just c/r my cbet then raise the BTN en leave wtf) or pretty good players. I have absolutely no idea how you're supposed to bumhunt HU as I have been sitting there for days (only on 2 tables 10/20 ftp, but still) and just no fish randomly sat down. I've been holding my ground though, so it's all good and my 6max game has improved because of the HU play.

I think Aug was disastrous for many people, It was like my 1st loosing month in a long time. And ya sept has been much better also for me.

Your going to be surprised how heavy boxing gloves can get after a couple rounds. GL wit that.

I've been fighting for a longgggg time, boxing about 12 years and martial arts for alot longer..faught national champ and sparred with a decent amount of pros =)..haven't faught since last december because i broke my knuckle..split it three ways so ...had to go easy for a few months =(...anyway glad to hear you're getting into it..im also a licensed boxing trainer so if u got any questions i can help =)

Interesting you should speak of boxing. Signing up for boxing training has been on my to-do-list for a while now. Was gonna plan and sign up after my exams next week. I think for me personally the gym should only be used for rehabilitation or inbetween training periods. I find it far more enjoying to train doing actual physical activities and build up practicle muscle. I also find that I don't enjoy being bulky, I enjoy being athleticly powerful.
My main sport is football, but I have been having some troubles with my hamstrings. Boxing isn't too heavy in the legs compaired to football, so I think it would be a good way to build up upper body strength and stay fit when I can't train football as intensively.
I have also messed around with some martial arts. I've tried Karate when I was a kid, Kenjitsu about 3 years ago and Aikido. I'm thinking about learning some proper self-defence (Krav Maga, Wing Tsun), simply because I travel so much and I think it would be +ev to be able to have some advanced self-defence techniques, but I far more enjoy martial arts for style or boxing, because I like the way you train for it.

That's not the only funny bit in my post though:

Here I refer to going to the gym as not being an actual physical activity for some reason.

"I've tried Karate when I was a kid"

That should be funny to some too, especially with the added information that my name is Daniell.
