Hey all!
It's been a while since I've updated, but I've been really sick and busy with assignments and exams for my study. Plus I didn't want to write until I had the pictures of the ski trip. Which was quite an adventure! I don't have all the photo's yet, but whatever. On the first day, when our bus arrived at the mountain in Corbier, one of the wheel chains suddenly just popped. And it was snowing very heavily, so the bus had a really hard time getting to the top. At one point we were all pushing the 'bagage car' behind the bus, and surprisingly.. it worked! Well, at least for one turn. They had already closed the entrance to the mountain by then (2 buses crashed already), no more cars/buses were allowed to go up. We were still there though. Eventually we had to walk 12km (7.5 miles or so) to the top! It was very tiring but sort of cool at the same time. We were lucky enough to find a ride for the last 3km. A funny thing was that somewhere along the way there was a 'wall' of snow. So a friend of mine said I had to jump up against it. I was running to the 'wall' when suddenly the ground just seemed to disappear under my feet... I was stuck in like 1.5 meter of snow and really needed help to get out of it xD When we got to the top it was too late to go onto the piste, so we went straight for the après skiing! Fun stuff, free beers for 1 hour. ![]() ![]() Here's us at the après ski bar The next day the sun was shining and all was good. We had great snow because of the day before. I even went off piste and made my first 'line' in totally fresh snow. Thought that was really cool, it was like I was flying, everything was so smooth! After the great day we went aprés skiing of course. You get drunk really fast after snowboarding the whole day and start drinking without dinner. But it definitely makes things fun. We met some very cool girls (from RVSV, for the dutchies) and hung out with em the next couple of days. Our schedule basically looked like: Get up, snowboard, get drunk, eat dinner, get more drunk, ... sleep. The weird thing is that noone ever seemed to have a bad hangover in the mountains, can't complain about that. ![]() ![]() Yellow snow fun and a pic with my fellow asian buddy Two of my friends already went paragliding, and I thought it looked awesome, so on the last day, I also went paragliding. I met my instructor (who looked like a mountain hippie) at the take off point, he clicked some stuff on me, and off we went! The take off was much easier than I thought. Basically just snowboard straight down and make lots of speed. Before I knew it I was flying in the air. I understand now what fighter pilots mean when they talk about G-Forces. The guy was pulling the parachute every way, making sick 'twisters'. It was so much fun And the landing went really smooth too. But of course I couldn't leave the mountains without falling real hard at least one time. On the last day it started to get icy, but I still wanted to go real fast one more time. I lost all grip when I hit an ice plate, so I fell on my 'belly side', but still couldn't stop going down. After a couple of meters I tried to stick my board in the ice. You can already guess what happened, I flipped over and the same thing continued. I came to stop at the bottom of the piste, but luckily I didn't really got hurt. ![]() Don't have my in air photo's yet, hope I'll get them soon ![]() When I was drunk I promised some girls that I would dress up like a lady for the final party. That wasn't one of my best ideas -.- You do get lots of attention though xD. A lot more happened, but I can't remember all and it's kind of much to type, but these were the things that stood out the most to me All in all a great trip, had lots of fun!![]() ![]() Gay stuff, right photo is a dude for who's wondering. Cool chick on top left Pokerwise February really sucked for me. This is my pain: ![]() And lost about 8K on other client too, so about -10K month for me. Hopefully March will be better. I'll try to update more often and post some interesting spots I got/get in. My exams are over, which went well I think Oh and I really liked the movie Bolt btw! The hamster Rhino was just killing me.Gl all, Denny
