ADDICTED TO THE TURBULENCE!!!
On Monday I packed and left for Jacksonville with my room in my gray Mazda 3. I met up with my Mom and my Sister in Jacksonville and we stayed the night there. On Tuesday we went to North Carolina to see my liflong friends(brothers) had dinner with them and stayed the night there. On Wednesday we drove through the Mountains and went from NC to Tennessee to Kentucky to Indiana and found a hotel in Peoria Illinois with 6 hours left to drive. During this segment I saw enough corn and roadkill to last a lifetime. Hotels were OK, the internet was lagging but I'm a junkie and couldn't help myself and won a bunch during the hotel stays. Hands later. On Thursday we drove 6 hours and arrived at the house I'm renting and sharing with 3 other kids/wrestlers. The area is pretty blah but my town is actually booming compared to everything else going on around. We are right on the lake but that means the winters are going to be that much colder. We have a huge basement, sweet. My roomates are fun to be around because they don't whine and help out. One is pretty good wrestler but the other one is terrible and has only been wrestling for one year, weird. On Friday we were allowed to get in the house and spent all day getting the house ready. I got a small room but it should be fine. Living room is huge and we ended up getting a 46" LCD for the XBOX and PS3. Room is small but I have plenty maneuver room and desk/bed room. it's a 4.5 mile run around the lake which is perfect for me. On Saturday we drove to the twin cities(St. Paul/Minneapolis), which is 2.5 hours away, and went to the Mall of America. The place is huge and we walked infinite this weekend. There are a ton of speciality shops where I found little things I thought I would never find. For instance, I found a pair of sheepskin slippers which are super-comfy but I have to keep them low-key from both girls I like because they are vegan : \ I also got a digital camera which was brought on to me by my Mom because she wants pictures. I try to put the pics of the lake and the house when I get a chance. During to the drive to the mall the realness of it all hit me pretty hard. The truth is it is going to take a lot to get over not seeing my family. This day was going to come one day but honestly I would have rather it been with a girl or in my own house next to everyone. It half feels like I'm abandoned but the thing is I chose this route. The chances of me finding a long-term relationship here are pretty remote. It pains me even more to know that to get back to what is normal I'd have to resort to poker AKA degen. The only thing I can do is channel all my emptiness and anger into my training which is unhealthy. Life is going to blow-up on me if I degen my way out of my bankroll. Looks like I need to start using facebook and finding other social outlets. We shopped all day today and I got a bunch of clothes and cool stuff. These are the hands I played starting from last Monday. I've doing very well lately and have played equally well.
Biggest pot of my life. Find the trainwreck in the HH. I see it. My play is totally standard and good given what I know about all player's ranges. I prefer a 3-bet PF as we are shallow enough to at least improve on decreasing my implied odds. I'm sure he has his reasons that I am oblivious to and he may or may not be right but I just always 3-bet his hand. On the flop I am getting it in and I can only imagine what his plans were on every specific turn card. Turn is sick and I actually put a lot of thought into my play before I bet and hardly any before I decided to call. I think it really comes down to how he plays his flush draws on the flop OOP and how he plays his Queen hi flushes on the turn. I expected him to raise the nut flush draw on the flop a % of the time but I think he would be more inclined to raise the NFD if he had some other type of equity i.e pairs/gutshots. I'm not sure if that has any relevance but just giving you my whole thought process. Honest to God I did account for the naked Ace of hearts to be calling to bluff a heart but only an unknown % of the time. On the turn I decided that I had enough equity to bet and call AND that bet/calling would yield more profit than checking turn and calling a river bet ignoring the % he C/R river. Soooo once I bet the turn his raise becomes horrible IF he knows what my plans are for K hi flushes and Q flushes. Therefore he only gets me to fold my air. So the next time we get in similar spots and I bet the turn he should be call me fish for bet/calling off so much money with a decent chance of drawing dead and berate me for a week instead of raising allin. EZ game for him now that he knows. ---------- Hand 6 ---------- FullTiltPoker Game #7652948100: Table Brookview (6 max) - $200/$400 - Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 0:36:52 ET - 2008/08/15 Seat 4: theASHMAN103 ($32,396.50) Seat 5: OMGClayAiken ($23,595.50) theASHMAN103 posts the small blind of $200 OMGClayAiken posts the big blind of $400 The button is in seat #4 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to theASHMAN103 [Ks Kh 8h Kd] theASHMAN103 raises to $1,200 OMGClayAiken calls $800 *** FLOP *** [7s Jh 4h] OMGClayAiken has 15 seconds left to act OMGClayAiken checks theASHMAN103 bets $2,000 OMGClayAiken has 15 seconds left to act OMGClayAiken calls $2,000 *** TURN *** [7s Jh 4h] [3h] OMGClayAiken checks theASHMAN103 has 15 seconds left to act theASHMAN103 bets $4,800 OMGClayAiken has 15 seconds left to act OMGClayAiken has requested TIME OMGClayAiken raises to $20,395.50, and is all in theASHMAN103 has 15 seconds left to act theASHMAN103 calls $15,595.50 OMGClayAiken shows [Ah Js Ad 5c] theASHMAN103 shows [Ks Kh 8h Kd] *** RIVER *** [7s Jh 4h 3h] [Jc] OMGClayAiken shows three of a kind, Jacks theASHMAN103 shows a flush, King high theASHMAN103 wins the pot ($47,190.50) with a flush, King high OMGClayAiken adds $8,000 *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $47,191 | Rake $0.50 Board: [7s Jh 4h 3h Jc] Seat 4: theASHMAN103 (small blind) showed [Ks Kh 8h Kd] and won ($47,190.50) with a flush, King high Seat 5: OMGClayAiken (big blind) showed [Ah Js Ad 5c] and lost with three of a kind, Jacks Sweet ---------- Hand 7 ---------- FullTiltPoker Game #7652428362: Table Eginton (6 max) - $200/$400 - Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 23:53:31 ET - 2008/08/14 Seat 1: Lystig ($13,080) Seat 2: War Stories ($38,287) Seat 3: theASHMAN103 ($32,183) Seat 4: OMGClayAiken ($39,200) Seat 5: WLUstudent ($0), is sitting out Seat 6: howisitfeellike ($15,765) howisitfeellike posts the small blind of $200 Lystig posts the big blind of $400 The button is in seat #5 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to theASHMAN103 [Jc Kc Ks Kh] War Stories raises to $800 WLUstudent stands up theASHMAN103 raises to $3,000 OMGClayAiken folds howisitfeellike folds Lystig folds War Stories calls $2,200 *** FLOP *** [4c Kd 7d] War Stories checks theASHMAN103 has 15 seconds left to act theASHMAN103 bets $6,600 War Stories has 15 seconds left to act War Stories has requested TIME War Stories raises to $26,400 theASHMAN103 raises to $29,183, and is all in War Stories calls $2,783 theASHMAN103 shows [Jc Kc Ks Kh] War Stories shows [7s 6s 5d 7c] *** TURN *** [4c Kd 7d] [9s] *** RIVER *** [4c Kd 7d 9s] [4h] theASHMAN103 shows a full house, Kings full of Fours War Stories shows a full house, Sevens full of Fours theASHMAN103 wins the pot ($64,964) with a full house, Kings full of Fours *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $64,966 | Rake $2 Board: [4c Kd 7d 9s 4h] Seat 1: Lystig (big blind) folded before the Flop Seat 2: War Stories showed [7s 6s 5d 7c] and lost with a full house, Sevens full of Fours Seat 3: theASHMAN103 showed [Jc Kc Ks Kh] and won ($64,964) with a full house, Kings full of Fours Seat 4: OMGClayAiken didn't bet (folded) Seat 5: WLUstudent (button) is sitting out Seat 6: howisitfeellike (small blind) folded before the Flop Um we broke even this hand except that I got lucky for $32k.
