I played a PLO hand this morning that has got my head all scrambled up. I was crushing the table and up a bunch of BB's and the game broke leaving it HU with a middle-aged guy from St.Louis who played loose passive, but made no errors in spewing off. He triples up his 20k stack to 60k and Rafi Amit sits in. Stakes are $100/200 and we are all putting on the $400 Mississippi straddle. My reads on the guy are that he doesn't make big bluffs and is content on letting me bluff, semi-bluff, and value bet him. Basically he tries to play his hand by not taking risks and not getting out of line. Btw, this style can be fine vs tilted aggro's who are 1) Bad at hand reading or 2) Bad at betting strategy. His confidence was up because he tripled and I felt like he was certainly not the type to risk losing his stack on a marginal spot.

$60k effective, He limps SB, Rafi folds. I pot 3388ss, he calls. $3k in pot. 34Kr he c/c $2,400 in rhythm. Turn Qd he C/R $7,400 to pot after thinking for a minute. I ask him if he would show if I folded and he says yes. I tell him I have outs and ask him how many times he wants to run it if I go allin and he says 4x. He doesn't look extremely relaxed and I do not think he would think for that long on the turn if he had THE top set. Definitely still a possibility. He also commented that he raised it $30k "I made it 30 you tell me if I have a good hand."

Help me.

How often did you cbet the flop and turn, and fold to a raise on the turn on a dry board against this guy?

Seems like some average player trying to get all the money in on the turn with the best hand.

who played loose passive
probably best to go with your read. Passive player suddenly getting aggro and committing half of his hard earned triple up screams extreme strength.

Unless he turned some uber draw (did turn bring a flush draw?) I think you're beat here a ton of the time. I think that is a favorable range Sauce is giving the opponent too... I believe it should be a bit tighter than that.

Would he be limping a lot of 44xx hands from the sb or folding?
Would you expect him to raise KKxx/QQxx hands from the sb?

Pitch it. First gut feeling is that he got lucky and binked a QQKx hand...especially if he'll limp those in the SB.

u only need 40.6% equity here to shove, so with that range sauce gave its actually super close to being 0ev to not fold. Should also have KQQ* in there, small diff

The table talk is very interesting, usually the nuts doesn't offer to show to people contemplating tough folds, especially with one card to come. The second comment about "I made it 30 you tell me if I have a good hand" also seems weird for the nuts to say. Did you fold, and did he show something like AKQ4 or maybe KQ43?

i would probably fold. 44 and qq seem possible, and im just not sure if the guy you described plays draws quickly with 1 to come.

If your image is crazy as in you're 2 barreling a ton and he has a draw on the turn wouldn't you expect him to c/r without SD value? This could also make him c/r with top 2, although he sounds like the type of player that would c/c turn with top 2 and try to bluff catch river which makes calling a bit worse. Wouldn't you think he isn't limping to many 44xx? I mean SB v BB he should be folding hands as strong as 4456, leaves only like double paired 44xx or maybe like 44AK, suited to the ace, although i'm not even sure what a live player would limp sb v bb. QQxx seems pretty unlikely, You would think he'd raise most QQxx that hit that flop, like QQKT, QQKJ, although again I could be wrong, I don't have experience with live PLO players. I think I'd call and call non low straight rivers. You have equity to peel now against a strong range, and your equity improves on non low straight rivers, assuming he's check raising draws that don't have SD value. Now if he has a river donking range that can change things as he may c/c draws then turn them into bluffs on certain rivers as a bluff instead of c/r. He's definitely repping KKxx well, but I don't see him limping too many other hands that hit sets on this board. I can see him having a lot of wraps though.
