Swinging downwards and I'm scared of heights

Going into Labor day weekend I was prepared to play a bunch of poker for 3 days and run around the lake every day when I needed a break. I started off doing great and got two different fish at the same time at $100/200 NL and was in a good mood just grinding fish down with itunes going. Only on Friday nights, I guess. Then, this gem.

Full Tilt Poker, $100/$200 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

Hero (SB): $31,515.50
BB: $15,775.50

Pre-Flop: 6 J dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to $600, BB calls $400

Flop: ($1,200) T 7 9 (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $800, BB raises to $2,222, Hero raises to $5,100, BB raises to $15,175.50 and is All-In, Hero calls $10,075.50

Turn: ($31,551) A (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: ($31,551) J (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: $31,551 Pot ($0.50 Rake)
Hero showed 6 J (a pair of Jacks) and LOST (-$15,775.50 NET)
BB showed 5 8 (a straight, Jack high) and WON $31,550.50 (+$15,775 NET)

Shrug it off like a champ and continue to grind my fish down when disaster strikes. By disaster I mean my roommate starts jumping on the unsteady floor for no reason and is enjoying himself immensely watching a show on TV. Suddenly the internet binks and I give it a couple seconds and start to panic. I had no idea what the problem was, it wasn't storming and my end of the ethernet cable was still in. I run out to the living room and the other end of the ethernet cable is in but the router isn't lit. Sure enough the cabinet that was holding the giant plug into the outlet had come loose from my roommate who decided to stomp on the floor for no ****ing reason. I tell him that he knocked out the router and try to laugh it off while thinking inside that I was ready to slam a glass bottle over his head. Sigh. Get my tables back up 1 minute later to find that my fish had gone off. Like being in a desert and having a limo drive right by you. End up taking a break for a while and come back to play $2k/$4k O8/b which was kind of fueled by my frustations from the misfortune earlier. The evidence of degen is right there. It's like Anakin in Episode 1 where thy tell him he is too old but Obiwan trains him anyways. I end up winning like $100k in the game and got my FTP balance to 7 figures. Uno Cards FTW!!

I continue all through the morning very tired and in the mood to just keep running it up. Unfortunately I get stuck $100k in Omaha for the day and lose a ton to this mega clown named Ben Grundy. This hand tilted me to no end just for the sole fact that he wins my stack for playing the hand how he did. Rare monkey species. A hybrid if you will.

I lose a bunch of other $50k pots where it's a basically a coinflip everytime. Bleh, It's cool though. Earlier that night jcreachbum1 sat at 2 or 3 $100/200 6-max games that I decided to give a go. My 6-max is anywhere from average to below-average but I decided to get wet a little. I ended up winning like $50K in the game by playing looser than my normal. In this hand David just sat down and I thought he was going to be light here so much more often than not and I'm not that big of a fan of calling PF in these spots. Plays out from there but I don't see he how he plans to profit by calling my 4-bet. Whatever.

I actually went to bed in the middle of the on Saturday about breakeven for the whole night and morning and only slightly annoyed. Woke up sometime Sunday morning only to feel like it was time to start bluffing people off every hand straight for the next two days. I didn't think Bryn would play his hand for value like this and I could think of a to of better hands that would fold. Probably bad by me.

A couple hours later I find myself 1 tabling Benyamine at $2k/4k O8B and another table of $200/400 NLH. Call me crazy but I'm like 99% sure I have an edge on him in both games. Whether playing $2k/$4k is a wise decision given my situation is another story. I crushed him in the O8B game as he was just folding way too much and I ran over him while he won the occasional extra bet by countering my constant betting. He was not adjusting at all and consistently missed bets or was making incorrect folds way too often, he had to be. I ended up winning $389k off him in O8B. Probably the only good news I had for the next 2 days as I ended up getting slaughtered in NL. I'l go backwards here. 1) I hadn't been 3-betting hardly so I thought it was he right to time to mix it up and stray from just 3-betting from a value hand get rewarded and then smashed for biggest pot of my life. 2) Bleh hand pretty straightforward. 3) Turn is for value because I think he would check 6x but continue bettingturn with 9x and overpairs etc. 4) Split two pair vs. BEN-YA-MEAN= shovel (ty raptor) money into the pot. 5) He plays so many hands weird but I dislike PF and my flop bet, I guess. Turn and river are for straight-up value yo.

Obviously I get my head smashed in for $235k to a calling station fish who wins every showdown. I ended up playing all morning and he quit the match which left me tilted, tired, and stuck. Bad combination for anyone. End up playing a myriad of HORSE all day and lost $150k at Stud. I binked out on every board and just got totally nailed at Razz. All games I'm competent except for maybe Stud. Got hit and ran by theJoker-JSB who is the biggest clown ever and continued the losing all day until Jones said something that made me realize I needed to quit. I forgot what he said though because I was too tired. End up losing like $300k that day and was just felt beat up.

That ended August and left me with a bitter taste as I was up about $800k for the month when I started the weekend and wiped away a good chunk of that in 1 day. Standard if you are degen. I'm not always like that I just have my moments or days just like everyone else. I guess you either you are or you aren't though. Ended August up about $800k at Omaha and down $200k at Stud and $100k at Holdem. Bleh :\

On Monday I had a very relaxing day where I slept in extra late and played a bunch of the $25/50 Cap PLO games which I won ~$30k in. I love the ease of those games and it seems people at those stakes misplay a lot of hands like I do whenever I'm 40bb+. I'd be suprised if anyone has had better cap plo results then me. Later on I went for a run around the lake which was refreshing and actually did homework before I went to bed : O

I got home from school pretty excited to continue the ease of similar levels and start out on fire only to get crushed later on. I saw people sitting at HU plo and I gave it a shot, although I considered myself to be a little rusty. Obviously I get spanked and lose $75k to OK players. I don't know what to say here but this ended my night. So frustrating to be in these spots only to find out you are drawing dead. So many times I had great second-best hands with a lot of money in the pot. I did played terriblle for my standards yesterday and can't remember playing this bad.

Yesterday capped off my downswing at ~$450k and leaves me sitting here a little dizzy. Naw I'm cool about losing and winning and just shrug both of them off like it didn't matter or it never hapened. At least that's what I model my emotions after. : )

You should get Ben Grundy to play you heads up. I have a feeling he would be happy to play you.
