Will they come after the players?

I am interested to hear opinions on this. If the government is taking the position that playing online poker is illegal from the states, that would make our income illegal and subject to seizure. This is not good. I know I'll put all my money in a bag, throw it over, and dive in after it and never come back.

im no expert but highly unlikely, prob hard to prove too. the main crux(black friday) is the illegal processing etc I remeber someone(ppa rep) mentioning during the reid bill time that he was suprised that no indictments had been issued against the big sites as it was the processing that was illegal not the actual playing. I hate the law but it seems the DOJ have a case

rather, even if they are taking that position, they don't care about the players at all-- they're not worried about seizing (relatively small amounts of) money and fighting in court over the legality/illegality of online poker. they're worried about basically starting at the top and stopping online poker at the roots (the sites that serve the US).

as the bible would say, don't take a man's fish away, tell that motherfucker he can't fish!

Just a PSA: My dad talked to a lawyer friend, who talked to his lawyer friends, and I've been professionally advised to not keep any assets in US bank accounts. I have paid taxes on everything 100% legit, but apparently, it is possible there will be a larger investigation in the not so distant future involving players (specifically, winners). This is obviously hearsay and should of course be taken with a grain of salt, but I am definitely worried about it.

Once the investigation starts, people who didn't pay taxes are going to wish they did.
