Tardy June Recap

Hey blog viewers

Sorry about the delay in posting but I've been sweltering in the +100 degree heat over the last week and have had power on and off due to some crazy storms that rolled through Central Ohio last week. 80+ mph winds and heavy rain equals no power for a lot of Columbusites.

Poker is very meh at the moment. I'm struggling to get motivated to put in hands and when I do put in a decent 1k+ hands session it feels like I'm breaking even and auto piloting a majority of the time. I really wish I could find it within myself to strive to do better but maybe its a personality thing or a work ethic issue but I don't think I'll ever be a serious online cash grinder. I just don't have the drive and the times when I enjoy poker the most is playing 2 tables and really trying to get in each villains heads and taking notes and trying to decipher their ranges. Obviously, that doesn't really lend itself to putting in decent volume but maybe that just isn't going to be my poker "life" going forward. I beat myself over it sometimes, thinking "If you just put in the hours than you can reach X limit or make X amount of money" and that is something worthy of striving for. It may not be for me.

I've actually going to play more live though and prepare myself for the casino that is going to be done and open in the fall. Its a completely different game in terms of lines, bet sizing, bankroll, etc. and I need to put some hours in so I'm ready. I do like the social aspect of live but knowing me I'll probably come to hate it and all the random bad beat stories that people want to tell you.

Any who, here's some graphs and stuff for June

trust me, poker is a lot more fun when you are actually making significant money with it and if that doesnt motivate you enough to work harder then poker probably isnt for you (meaning that i think every single person who has made any significant amount of money has either really loved the game or has really loved stacking dollars, for a lot of people its both)

Becoming more successfull (and having more fun!) with poker starts with setting good short and long term goals because you realize better why you play. I can recommend reading and working with ''the mental game of poker'' by Jarend Tendler. Also most likely you have to work harder to improve. Also, what is your play to study ratio atm? And in the times you study, do you really study effective? Maybe maintain a ratio of 2 the next few weeks, that will help most likely is my experience. Also, when you feel you improve more, you will have more fun at the tables because you want to play very good poker and you feel confident. Atleast, that is how it works for me. Good luck man.
