I have decided to start a blog detailing my efforts in online poker, and to share a little about my life as well. A bit of background on me:

• 19 year old law student living in Brisbane, Australia.
• Been playing poker for about 6 months.
• Started with freerolls, managed to win $600 by winning one (lol) and started building a roll at $11 SNGs on PokerStars.
• Grinded my roll up to $2000 and started playing $27 SNGs. Failed miserably. Moved back to $16 SNGs and still couldnt win.
• Switched to cash, starting at NL25 FR on FTP. Struggled initially but managed to grind a roll for NL50 while clearing the deposit bonus and also scored a free 6-month leggo subscription with PocketFives.
• Switched to NL50 6max on Stars with reasonable success. Managed to slowly grind a roll for NL100 6max.
• Played around 50k hands at NL100 6max, but the only profit I made was from bonuses bought with FPPs (broke even).

So that brings us to 2009. I made a New Years Resolution to start taking poker seriously. The opportunity to play poker for money while studying at Uni is one I need to take advantage of. The steps I have taken so far have been to:

• Switch to Full Tilt Poker, starting with a $2,000 roll at the NL100 tables, in order to receive rakeback through Leggo and get a free video subscription.
• Purchase HEM.

As of now I plan to generate enough MGR at FTP in whats left of January in order to receive my free Video Subscription here at Leggo (as well as hopefully winning some $$$ :P). A long-term goal is to become a solid, winning regular at at least NL200 (I think I should be able to achieve this in the next couple of months if I focus on improving my game) and anything beyond (NL400+) would be a bonus.

Today I played my first session at FTP after switching my roll from Stars. I played for around 5 hours total, just 2-tabling to get used to the software/players etc. Results:





It sure felt nice to leave the tables with a 7-buyin win! As you can see I amassed an $830 stack on one of the tables! I ran good and played some of my best poker and was pleased that it payed off.
