Math has always been a large part of Martin's life. He studied Maths at Leeds University, earning a degree in 2003. Afterwards, he taught mathematics to 11-18 year olds for almost three years. Now, it is a large factor in his poker game.

Depositing in 2001, DODGY played SNGs and LHE for around two years before switching to PLO. This went on for a little more than a half of a year, at which point his teaching became too encompassing. Three years later, Martin took a break from being a teacher, changed games to NLHE, and never looked back.

Today Martin plays anywhere between $3/$6NL and $10/$20NL and expects to be around poker for a while, but also understands the opportunity at hand: "I'm going to play poker until I don't want to play anymore. I figure that I've stumbled upon an amazing opportunity to make a significant amount of money that's really going to help me out in the future. I think I'd like to get back into some sort of work within 5 years or so, and I'm hoping that I put myself in the position where I can pick and choose exactly what I want to do." The way DODGY attacks poker, we are sure he will.

Coaching

Before your first lesson I would like you to make a 20 minute sample video for me to watch in advance. You could record it with or without audio, and I will use it to get a good idea of your game before we start our first session. This will help me to identify leaks in advance, and will lead to our sessions being more focused, efficient, and useful to you. You will need to download Camtasia to make this video, and if you need help on using it you can contact me. I’d also like you to include a shot of your overall database stats in this video at some point.

I would recommend lessons to be between 1.5 and 2 hours long. I’m open to structuring a lesson in any way you’d like, although my usual approaches would be one of the following:

- You make a video and we watch and discuss it together
- A live sweat (usually followed by a review of important hands)
- A review of saved hand histories
- A mixture of the above

You’ll need to have Skype and either Mikogo or Teamviewer downloaded for the lessons.

I also offer another form of coaching. You can send me a 40 minute video of you playing a session and I will watch and record audio over the top. I will comment on everything from your general game to very specific situations. I’m confident that you’ll find this extremely helpful as I have plenty of experience using this format already, and my students find it more helpful than a live sweat. The price for this will be $300 as the video will usually last for an hour.

I’ve had several coaching sessions myself from a few different coaches, and I have a very good idea of what works well and what doesn’t. I would encourage you to come with a good idea of what you’re looking to get out of coaching before we even start. This way we can work together to make sure you get what you want and need.

You can contact me if you have any questions you’d like to ask. I can be reached through private message at Leggo Poker, or by email at DODGYKEN@hotmail.com.
