Isura got his start in poker the way many did—via a small deposit onto
PartyPoker. A single $50 investment into $.50/$1 LHE paved the way for
his current bankroll. In fact, many would say it would be impossible
for Isura not to succeed; his blog posts on theory are some of the
most thought out and mind opening in the poker world.
Dedication to mental preparation and tilt control are keys to Isura’s
success. He strongly believes that players should approach poker
training systematically; poker is a grueling mental sport. Isura is
very in tune with his overall risk and is not concerned with his
conservative bankroll management. At a comfortable level of
$1/$2NL-$3/$6 NL he is able to make low variance money.
Two of Isura’s major breakthroughs came when he came to appreciate the
importance of basic poker math and game theoretic reasoning.
Possessing the ability to identify the important aspects of any
problem domain, it would not be surprising to see Isura in an analyst
role at a bank or hedge fund a few years from now. Coaching

knowledge), a tutor (teach the thought process), and a mentor (improve
confidence and intangible poker skills). My coaching program teaches

thought process through hand history reviews, and improves intangible
poker skills through live interactive sweating.
