Formerly working as a piano player at his parents’ restaurant, Denny Man now plays on euro sites regularly between 3/6 and 5/10 NLHE with shots at 10/20 once every so often. Not a bad living for a 20 year old 2nd year Econometrics student from the Netherlands.

Denny started getting into poker during the poker boom while he was in high school. He quickly fell in love with the game and, despite being too young to deposit money online at the time, he started playing freerolls and reading articles to improve his game. He started his bankroll by winning $15 in a freeroll, but quickly busted it at 5NL cash games. The next $5 freeroll he won, he played 2 $2.20 SNGs, won both, and never looked back.

Denny’s game really took off when he discovered a Dutch poker forum, where he was able to meet other good poker players, along with having access to quality strategy posts on those forums. He soon developed a network of friends to discuss poker with. He claims that seeing other people put in a lot more time and effort in improving, gave him motivation to work hard at his game.

Denny says his biggest challenge regarding poker is balancing his real life with playing poker on a regular basis. His dedication to poker requires a huge time commitment and is difficult to keep up with when he is also a full time student with a social life. Denny says “It's very tough to stay focused on your study when you can make so much money with poker. Since I've moved out, I think I'm doing pretty well on the friends and family part. My roommates keep me from being in my room all day long. The study part is the hardest thing now.”

Danny recently got his Bachelors in Econometrics and Operations research and is now pursuing a Master's degree in Quantitative Finance. That along with getting purchasing his first home has taken up a lot of his time and he's rebuilding his roll at $400NL and looks forward to moving back up to $5,000NL.

Coaching

The best way for me to coach is to have you make a video, and we can go over it in a couple of ways:

- We watch the video together over Mikogo and Skype. You tell me your thought process in a hand and I comment on both your thought process and play
- I record audio over the video and send it back to you
- Send in 15-20 HH's and I will put those in a hand history viewer and record with audio

A video of 40 minutes for the first two options will produce a video of around an hour. For the HH viewer I think about 15-20 hands will also last about an hour.

If you have any questions about general concepts, you can let me know by email or msn or during the time we are watching the video together. If you want a live sweat session, then we can certainly arrange something. Hopefully we will get to know each other a bit and not only have productive but fun sessions. I believe that as I help you as a poker player, you will help me grow as a coach.
