Leggo Poker Every Tool You Need To Win

Absolutely Nuts Personal Statistics
One glance at televised poker and Dan Flower decided to take his shot at controlling the game online. Starting with $5 sit-and-go's on Party Poker, the Brit admittedly worked hard to break even, despite consuming 'every poker book in the universe.' Then he discovered strategy forums and transitioned to cash games.

In the early days, now known as grogheadflow, Dan believed his edge in poker came from folding more than the other players. "My biggest challenge was overcoming that perception," Dan explains. "I came to understand everything I was working towards in poker was actually counter-productive, and that folding was the problem, not the solution."

Graduating from England's Sheffield University with a Computer Science degree, the now 26-year-old had a career as an IT programming consultant for financial companies. "In the end I quit programming when I realized I had hit the peak of my earning power already, Dan relates. "I wanted something with unlimited earning potential."

(Timeout for a shout-out: "The support of my girlfriend Nicola in leaving work to play poker was very important, as everyone else thought I was crazy! And probably still do.")

Unlimited earnings potential explains poker. But why grogheadflow? "My screen name," recalls Dan, "came from the computer game Monkey Island. Beer in the ol' pirate lingo was called grog, so I became groghead. Flow - as in my surname - came from me registering for the same site numerous times under different names, when I forgot my password."

Grogheadflow still enjoys hoisting a pint or two.... "although, anyone playing poker seriously soon finds out that regular drinking and success doesn't mix" he says. But he also has a season pass for Hull City FC in the EPL and plays football himself three times weekly. He is also a student of all forms of politics, including those in the United States.

More importantly, he is an avid student of poker. "I am always working to improve my game," Dan says. "You have practice by moving up, by playing the best players. Sure, you might expect to lose initially before learning and adapting. But I am very confident in my own ability to learn by practice."

While he's played 5-10, Daniel has focused on deep-stacked 2-4. Coaching by Bobbofitos led grogheadflow to an entirely different approach to the game, which he has since shaped into the style he plays today. "Essentially, I learned to never fold," he offers, "and afterward I then took that idea to the extreme."
