A regular at $25/$50 NL and higher, Ben maintains a modest and laid back persona. If you ask Ben about his poker story, he will tell you that it all began with a $300 deposit followed by hours upon hours of multi-tabling .25/.50 NL. From there, he never looked back - obliterating stakes in his wake. When Ben was playing $2/$4 in late 2006 and early 2007, his record month was $50,000 (yes, that is 125 buy-ins in a month post UIGEA) and he actually had a positive winrate from the blinds! After this hugely successful foundation, Ben shot all the way up to nosebleed stakes. The only real challenge along the way Ben feels he has faced is controlling his tilt, but this problem eliminated itself after moving up to $10/$20NL.
At 22, Ben has completed three years of accounting and financial studies, but currently directs all his focus towards poker. He maintains that the best way to achieve success is to simply play as much as possible, while intently studying your opponents. With Ben’s level of poker achievement, those are certainly words everyone should take to heart.
