insyder,

I have improved my forum/internet poker/conservative skills a great deal since joining Leggo, keeping my blog, and realizing I have some responsibility to other people besides myself. That said, I think that while my videos are getting less offensive as time progresses, it would be a disservice to others if I went out of my way to censor my videos because it might hold back even 2% of content from having to keep the censorship in the back of my mind. FWIW, this was one of the reasons I chose to be with Leggo-- because they promised not to censor me.

Also, I might be abrasive at times and immature, but I think that "social skills" is not really the word that you're looking for. I'm just a loud cocky young kid, and even if I use profanities every other word, I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean that I don't have any social skills.

As far as I know it's just a little cussing here or these, or using the term "gay bet" which is in regards to a small bet made to annoy your opponent, and has nothing to do with sexual orientation. I don't think I offend many groups of people.

The picture of Toby is perfect.

LOL. And +1.

Aejones is one of the best vide-producers out there imo. The cursing parts of it are just a trademark which make the videos even more fun to watch. W/ an aejones video you get like 10 seasons of friends + another 10 of seinfeld (the entertainment part) added up w/ tons of key poker information.
So totally disagree w/ the OP and I hope Aejones keeps making videos in the same fashion! (maybe a little more cursing tbh )

Please keep "acting immature", I'm sure it will make some people miss some of the poker content and just watch for entertainment.

Yea I think that at the beginning of Leggo some of Aaron's videos were offensive but like he said we weren't going to sit there any censor him.

I haven't ever had to talk to him about "turning it down a notch" because he's figured out basically everything that he mentioned in his post -- he has a responsibility not only to our members but also to his peers to find a happy medium and I think he's done a good job with that.

Worrying about how aejones acts in his videos is -EV.

Seriously though, and this is going to really skew this thread and may even seem like a shot @ op, but it is not - if we are trying to be the best poker players we can be, then worrying about how Mr. Jones' presents himself shows a basic issue that will cost us money at the poker table.

I will pause here for laughter, but I am serious...

In your poker career, you are going to meet people that are way more arrogant, conceited, a-hole'ish, immature, and dag-nasty than aejones is...and on top of all of this they are going to be trying to take money from you, not presenting you with information that will help you win it. If a small bit of cursing or shenanigans that you do not approve of derail you from gleaning the wisdom present in an aejones video then this is something that you really need to fix.

I remember a poker analogy, posted on another, mathematically named message board, that went something like this:

Quote:
aejones releases a new video 6 tabling 100NL:

The Optimist says: aejones acts the way he does because he has earned that right by showing solid results

The Pessimist says: aejones is a luckbox and acts like an immature jerk because he is an immature jerk

The Poker Player says: Based upon the AQ BTN hand I need to concentrate more on sizing my bets such that I can get all in by the river. I also need to think more about using "reverse" timing tells to my advantage.
Er, I believe it was something like that.

We can sit here and debate how or why aejones should or should not act in his videos and on these forums, but the real issue here is - how does this improve our game?

Thanks for the replies Aaron and Greg,

ye I guess it was some of his first videos because I just watched his latest one and it was great.

I can understand that most don't get why I would make such a thread as there are way more stupid and immature people around on the internet I just thought that he kind of represents this site and should also be responsible to the community.

Oh and yeah, I would rather have all the training sites closed and be back to the party era, who wouldn't?
